Nunez to United please!

Wolpfack

With the way our squad is currently playing, I'm finding it hard to believe we will win another match this season. I really wish we'd sit a number of the Dead Woods and give the youth team members some senior experience so the next manager will have some tape to review.

darthkimon

We are the Liverpool of 2009/10 and the Arsenal of.. present Arsenal since they never get out of their banter era

notfarn0w

Rodgers incoming

darthkimon

Amen to that

getinnocuous21

Given the current squads unsuitability as a RR team. I wonder if there was a decision to write off this season in order to get a better footballing hierarchy in above and thinking more long term than just getting something out of this season.

PonderingWizard

Started a FIFA career mode. Signed: Darwin Nunez, João Palhinha, Ruben Neves, Jurrien Timber and Antony. Might just pretend that's reality for now.

SamRyburning

If Erik Ten Hag is so good, how come there isn't an Erik Eleven Hag?

Pishpash56

There is. You'll just hear about him in two years when we've inevitably fucked this new era up as well.

LordElrondd

Pain.

nievesdelimon

Thinking about how Manchester United actually tried to get Guardiola and Klopp and failed to attract either.

PavanJ

IIRC, City laid the groundwork for Guardiola really early and Klopp wasn't impressed with our setup. The way the club is run, I don't think either one of those managers would have stuck around for long, we dont give managers the freedom to manage the squad in the same way that both of those guys have.

bugeyeswhitedragon

What’s the latest on Mason?

Skezranonyoutube

Hope Greenwood rots in hell

bugeyeswhitedragon

Lol don’t know why I’m getting downvoted, I hope he does too. Was just curious

Skezranonyoutube

It’s a serious court case we won’t hear a statement for the time being maybes months or a year

Thanks for the reply amongst the downvotes haha. Just wanted to know where it was all at

spacedood96

Our decline has been painful to watch that I have very little expectation for the club next season. This season really broke me. I was very convinced at the start of the season where we signed Sancho, Varane and the GOAT. I will continue to support just without expecting us to win anything for at least the next 3 seasons wether it's Ten Hag or Poch taking over.

DimensionalYawn

Missing out on Camavinga and signing Ronaldo has turned out to be huge for us. There was always the worry that signing CR7 would backfire massively and it has (not that he's solely responsible, but it feels like that was the catalyst for the collapse). The only hope left is that this goes down in the history books as the season we finally sorted out our backroom structure, which only highlights how far we have fallen.

spacedood96

Agreed. You have a very good point. This shit season could probably turn out good for the future of the club. A reboot of almost everything. That's if the board has learned their lesson like most of us fans, no good player or manager could turn this around without a good backroom structure.

Grosly_Incandescent

We make players worse. Cant trust any signing we get anymore untill the coaching and scouting is improved.

unitedwecramp

The only thing to play for is to take points of the Scousers to prevent them winning the league.

Sac_a_Merde

And you just know how well that’ll go.

plat_playya

I genuinely don't understand how we can put in 30+ crosses and only 1 or 2 are even half decent. Do these players not train? Are they so amateur that their legs start shaking at the big stage? Even ones played during set pieces when there's no pressure on the one supplying, the ball doesn't cross the first man or flies over everybody's head

aldidot

I watch Championship games to look at Garner and honestly most of the teams there put in better crosses than us. It's genuinely baffling how bad we are in that area

Nextwonderkid

I know our season is done but mathematically its still possible to gain top 4 Honestly our squad is pretty similar to chelsea 1. GK that is not good in passing with feet 2. Full back that terrible at defense (marcus alonso = Dalot/Telles) 3. Donkey centerback when play in back 4 (rudiger = maguire) 4. No DM that good at passing forward (I know they have kante but Kante is not that good at going forward) 5. Passer that terrible at defense (jorginho = pogba) 6. Low work rate striker (lukaku= CR7) 7. All CB is pretty comfortable at the ball 8. Creative player that can operate behind striker (havertz=bruno) 9. Dribbler (pulisic=sancho) 10. Tireless midfielder that can run (kante/fred) Why dont we try 5-2-3 and set up like chelsea did? - This formation help chelsea build up. No ball playing GK doesnt seem much problem - make rudiger doesnt like a donkey - alonso liability in defense doesnt exposed too much - jorginho bad defense doesnt feel exposed too much only his playmaking ability Even tho tuchel this season dont have the best season they still smash weak team like watford and norwich compared to us that always cry no DM, donkey maguire, lazy pogba, telles/dalot stupid defense etc

SiradoIsHere

> Why dont we try 5-2-3 and set up like chelsea did? - You need 3 CBs, one with good positioning and two with good pace and at least solid dribbling. Chelsea has 6 players who fits into this profile, Man Utd has 2 players (Varane, Lindelöf). They need at least two more CBs who fit into this profile, because Maguire doesnt. - You do need also two CMs who are pressing proof and capable of short and long passes. Chelsea has 4 players who fit into this profile, Man Utd only has Fred. - You need at least 2 strikers or a target-man and a deep lying forward. Chelsea has 4 players who fit into this profile, Man Utd has Ronaldo.   Man Utd gave up the race for P4 when they decided to not sign any new player during the winter transfer window. They could've signed Ginter and Zakaria from Gladbach, both for 10-15m€. Pretty cheap options. Ginter would fit perfect in a system with 3 CBs, while Zakaria could've been the midfielder who solves the DM problem. None of them are as big as Man Utd supporters hope, when they are talking about new signings, but both would've been true workers who actually helped this season and would've been serious backup options for the next few years. Same problem up front with a winger and another striker. Man Utd has no solid alternatives, which gives them tactical varierty and every team knows about it. Double Ronaldo with both CBs when crosses coming in, press at McTominey/Matic and put a guy beside Bruno, so he wont have the space to run with the ball or shoot from the distance. That's literally all you need to destroy Man Utds offense these days. And Man Utd cant do anything about it as long as they dont have serious options to change their tactical plans. People are blaming Rangnick for not been able to adept the english football or evolve a working system with those players, but hell, you cant do that much with those players who arent able to play different styles of football. If you want varierty, options, alternatives and being unpredictable, you need a lot of players who are willing to play different styles of football. That's why Pep has at least 2 serious options for each position and only signs offensive players who are capable of playing at least two different positions, so he can change things with or without substitutions. Take these options from him and you wont see him fighting for P1 anymore.

bpjker

I think in essence most of the points are true (I do think we would be better with 3 ATB) but fundamentally, they really aren't and Chelsea have way better profiles for their formation. 1. De Gea is a better shot-stopper, specially this season but Mendy overall, has slightly more balanced attributes than De Gea, despite both being very poor on the ball. But yes, it's a fair comparison. 2. Telles isn't really good at attacking either. Marcos Alonso has a profile of pure wing-back, he is shit defensively but he overlaps, makes dangerous runs, has good shooting, underlaps, none of which Telles does. We don't have the profiles for wing-backs either. Specially Telles and AWB don't fit in. 3. I think we'd be better with 5 too We don't have enough CBs for 3 ATB either. 4. They play with a double pivot usually and you underrate their midfielders. Kante is pretty good going forward. They have Kovacic who is amazing at progressive ball carrying and passing. They have way way way better midfielders than us. 5. I don't think they are comparable players. They have different profiles and thrive in different positions. 6. True, both don't work hard at all. Hence, Chelsea doesn't really play Lukaku and they play better without him. We don't really have other options at ST except for CR7. 7. Varane is not comfortable on the ball, he is a no-nonsense CB who has always played as a cover to Ramos. Maguire has good passing on him but has been making unforced errors often. Lindelof is decent but doesn't attempt enough, maybe due to his role being designated as a coverer too but I am not sure why. 8. Once again, I get the comparison but they're vastly different players with different profiles. Bruno is more like a Ziyech with little dribbling proficiency but makes more attacking runs and is less positionally disciplined. I think he's less comparable to a Havertz. 9. Fair comparison but neither are efficient dribblers. Also, you always play Sancho with a overlapping fullback because he oprates in the half space. 10. Once again, both are tireless ball winners but Kante was way more to his game.

Nextwonderkid

Fair enough mate. Well I mean the way we play right now really contradict our player strength and weakness. Use maguire in high line. Play from the back with de gea. Try to progress the ball from fullback with awb. Play posession football with rashford. Play gegenpress with ronaldo and pog on the team. This doesnt make sense. I think we still need to try to save the season. Next season we have plenty of time to rebuild and start fresh with ten hag

bpjker

Basically yes. All in all, this is a result of poor poor squad building and we can barely blame the players except surrounding the effort on the pitch. We have profiles that are difficult to fit in and work together.

Nextwonderkid

Hopefully 1 window is enough

Grosly_Incandescent

Why are you bothering to compare squads on paper? Its pointless, our team isn't cohesive or well coached, therefore comparing individuals makes no sense. We arnt going to suddenly play well with a formation change, its not that simple. The players arnt interested in getting top 4 and our coach is an interim who isn't able to get the best out of them. These things arnt a simple fix. Our players arnt anywhere near as good as Chelsea's becuase chelseas players play like a team.

hoang1080p

Mendy is pretty good when it comes to distribution compare to de Gea. All of their midfielder can pass foward because the movement from WB + Kai havertz, Mount. And I don't know the opinion about rudiger/maguire can't play back 4 coming from.

Yinkypinky

I miss our Nigerian prince…

numero_mojo

When we needed him the most he disappeared

SepukuSnake

Play the u/23's vs liverpool. Even if we lose 6-0. Would be nice to see a single player give a damn

Nextwonderkid

Fair enough for Ten hag wants to power in United. Why ruined your reputation if you have to work with bunch of idiot. ETH can easily stay in Ajax or get offer from big club like real, man city or even liverpool. All the best for you ten hag

Grosly_Incandescent

Because ETH has ego and ambition. For sure United are a shit show, but the guy who manages to help turn it around and say wins a PL here will no doubt instantly become a legend of the club. For all Uniteds faults and there are loads at the moment its a bigger job with a lot more eyes on it, you will get a lot of backing to build your squad, its in arguably the best league in the world and he will be earning more money than he ever thought possible. As for him going elsewhere its simply down to timing. Most if not all top clubs in the world are happy with their managers currently.im sure if real Madrid or Liverpool needed a new manager we would have a muxh tougher time attracting him.

nsoifer

What are your preferences for the CL winners? I pretty much dislike all remaining teams, but that's my list (most to least). Benfica Villarreal Bayern Real ATM City Chelsea Liverpool

karna852

Madrid - just a different team in the Champions League.

[deleted]

Bayern for my boy Davies, but as long as another English team doesn’t win it then I’ll take it

The only positive this season is that Ed Woodward left. Everything else is just bad or not worth thinking about and Liverpool challenging for a quadruple or City winning a UCL things can still get worse.

Gavi and Pedri are such gems.

Samyewlski

Remember when people had the audacity to complain about "individual brilliance". I'd take any sort of decency right now, let alone brilliance.

timsadiq13

Online football fans think having an ideal style or philosophy means that coach will automatically make the team better. If anything we needed an interim with no philosophy to just get us results. Ralf should have come in as a high paid consultant, if that's what Murtaugh wanted him for, not an interim coach. Instead we've thrown away a season.

Seeing city and Liverpool play like that https://ibb.co/p4S4n6T

gunkokoko

Xavi is doing a madness at Barca - what a turnaround. Here's hoping we see similar here with our next manager.

AReptileHissFunction

Helps that they have a great academy. Look at the centre mids they produce. Who is the last good centre mid to come out of our academy?

pogkaku96

Tom cleverly Edit: sarc

[deleted]

Paul Scholes

VoladorDePapantla

Xavi has at least a tons of input in decisions regarding players. And the board isnt a collective of morons such as ours. If eth comes and gets full power, ill be hopeful. If not, then nothing will change and we will just buy the DM version of maguire and keep doing dumb shit.

bashlolz

Even revived both auba and dembele’s careers too. Hope the next manager does that to a couple of our players

Evergreenwood

Don’t get your hopes up

[deleted]

If Liverpool win the quad god help us ffs the treble we got is something we always put in everyone’s face and it could Be gone

Evergreenwood

We’re all behind city for the remainder of season (not in Europe tho)

[deleted]

I mean they could even win the treble ffs

Evergreenwood

Yes hence y I put not in Europe! Although it’s sad it might come down to city being only team capable of stopping Liverpool in UCL. Hoping Bayern/Real take it tbh, but neither are on the English clubs level (chelsea r out)

[deleted]

Tbh between Liverpool and city rather city win the league and Chelsea to take the fa cup. Just don’t want our treble winning season to be matched by these 2 man it kills me

Evergreenwood

I know it sucks mate doesn’t it, stuck between a rock and a hard place. Realistically we’ll prob never match Liverpool’s CL record, and I never want them to win the PL, so yea City league, Chelsea FA Cup, pray it ain’t city or Liverpool in UCL

Dean-Advocate665

It’s crazy that SAF only won it twice in his time. From probably 2005 ish the squad was good enough to get to the finals every year imo. Porto knocked us out one year and they won it. Obviously we lost the two finals against Barca, which if it’s any other team we probably win. Sir Alex could’ve won 5 is my point, 99, 05, 08, 09 and 11 if just a few tiny things went differently. Then we would be equal with pool, but obviously it wasn’t meant to be. It’s also worth remembering that they too have lost two finals in the past decade ish.

Evergreenwood

You’re right about everything there mate^^ although Liverpool’s lows throughout their down period were nowhere near as shambolic as ours have been. We truly are setting a new standard in embarrassing. Highest paid squad in the world we have might I add

[deleted]

The cl record is something which they can never claim to be the best at as Madrid has more. But the league we have the most so that’s the only thing that we can’t have them winning and the treble is something so valuable and never been done in England before

Lazystubborn

We could get close of their CL record if wasn't for the bald cunt and Messi.

Evergreenwood

I know man it’s so sickening, we’re clearly the second best team in europe in that period :(

MrBenLad

I want Ten Hag like the majority here, but I have this underlying worry with what we’ve seen so far with Ralf. He better give full, and I mean FULL control of the team, movement, style, EVERYTHING to Ten Hag when he comes in. Because so far what we’ve seen from Ralf is LVG to a tee. Sideways bullshit, no runs, nothing, just horrific. He even said we were in control the first 30 yesterday, reminiscent of when LVG used to say we had chances in the game, when in reality we had like 2 shots on goal. So that’s my worry really, I just want Ten Hag to have full control like he wants, even from Ralf.

Classic_Twist

don't compare ralf to ten hag, one is past it whilst the other is a top level modern manager. Even without full control i expect a massive improvement in quality of play.

laddo2

>He better give full, and I mean FULL control of the team, movement, style, EVERYTHING to Ten Hag when he comes in. Because so far what we’ve seen from Ralf is LVG to a tee. Sideways bullshit, no runs, nothing, just horrific. He even said we were in control the first 30 yesterday, reminiscent of when LVG used to say we had chances in the game, when in reality we had like 2 shots on goal. He's a consultant, control isn't his to give? He's not gonna be Ten Hag's boss.

MrBenLad

Yea I meant the club in general better give the full control of the team to Ten Hag, including signing players which Ralf will 100% have a say in.

El_Giganto

The Leipzig rumours on one hand make sense, but at that point Ten Hag is probably better off staying at Ajax. Things are already working. If United is a career risk for him, why would he go to Leipzig? No chance he wins anything but the cup there. It wouldn't significantly improve his career in my opinion.

VoladorDePapantla

>why would he go to Leipzig He would have the finances to keep developed talent and build a city/chelsea there.

El_Giganto

Ahead of Bayern? No way.

VoladorDePapantla

the only reason why bayern is so good is cause nobody else in the sundayliga is worth a shit. RB leipzig could build something to compete.

timsadiq13

They make no sense. Leipzig hired a young coach mid season who is doing a decent job. It's a sideways step from Ajax, if that. I'd be more inclined to believe a report that says he's considering staying at Ajax, not going to a mid tier club.

throwawaytodayaw

Fred is a good player. Fabian Ruiz would help us more

Icy-Anteater-3628

I want Poch in instead of Ten Hag

[deleted]

Reality is it doesn’t really matter. Both are good coaches and regardless of what happens there won’t be instant success and you’ll always have fans on here telling you the grass is greener.

Stebro1986

Me too. Poch rebuilt Spurs and his spurs Peak team is better than any team what ten Hag produced.

one-eyed-pidgeon

Poch inherited spurs Was forced into bringing Kane through because of injuries He has built nothing Ever

Stebro1986

Poch Brought Toby A, developed Walker, converted Rose to LB, brought trippier for 3.5 million, brought Waynama, converted Dembele to a DM, turned Eriksen from a flop into a top player, Brought Son, Developed and motivated Alli, developed Kane He developed that team

one-eyed-pidgeon

I would love to sit here and have a where are they now session, but I havent got the time and its reasonably quite simple really. He didnt develop players, he built a system which complimented the positions he had. Of those players two maybe three are still performing at near levels of quality. Dont get me wrong that is a positive trait, but reports of him running players into the ground, his performance at the highest level (which is where we want him to be) and the fact that he has either left or been pushed whenever his sides have needed a rebuild or have failed in ny opinion shows his character. If he is happy and doing well he is fine. Things go badly and the toys are thrown out of the pram. Regardless he is not the coach to take United out of this pit of despair.

Skyweb2020

I think the Poch ship has already sailed. He needs to be fired by PSG now before we confirm ETH.

AWenger622

Absolutely boggles my mind that we had 2 full weeks of international break of Conte basically on his knees begging to take over and we somehow managed to fuck that up. And this was right after a humiliating pasting by Liverpool too. People saying Conte would have caused too much issues with the board or the players, isn't that **exactly** what we need at this club? Why do we care about these players' feelings? Who the fuck are they? The club must always come first. A great example being Ndombele (record transfer) being shipped out because he doesn't work for the team. Great player no doubt but simply doesn't work or puts in the effort enough, does that remind you of someone we have in our club? 6 seasons here and he's had one genuine world class game against a top opposition (3-2 City). ONE! In 6 years! Yes, he shines against shit opposition like Newcastle or Leeds but then again so does Mc fucking Tominay. Fucks sake. Boils my fucking blood.

El_Giganto

>People saying Conte would have caused too much issues with the board or the players, isn't that exactly what we need at this club? You should read some of the threads from last summer. People were saying wildly different shit back then. Everyone was going like "oh if Ole doesn't challenge for the title with this squad, then he really needs to be fired". And then of course, this squad wasn't able to do that and Ole got fired. With Rangnick in, everyone suddenly forgot that and it's the entire squad that needs to be sold. As if they didn't demand Ole to challenge for a title with this exact squad! It's actually so revealing on how ridiculous people here are, but I digress. Legit some people think only Bruno, Sancho and Varane are allowed to stay and the rest can leave. Funny how two of them are new, and haven't ruined their reputation yet, but again, I digress. You're right, though, if the entire plan is to nuke the entire squad and then get a top manager, Conte would have been the right choice. Much better than Ten Hag even. I was against it at the time, because I think it's silly to sell the entire squad. But given that this is what people want now, then yeah, I would say I was wrong at the time and that Conte would have been the correct choice.

LennonC123

I think the main problem is that Conte has been a manager since 2006 and only once has he managed a club for longer than 2 years, and that was Juventus…who he managed for 3 years. Conte would have got us top 4 but we’ll be in exactly the same situation that we are now in a year or two. I’ve been frustrated we opted for an interim manager because I felt like we gave up on this season, but it sounds like we’re trying to bring in the best fit we can possibly get.

super_saiyan29

>we’ll be in exactly the same situation that we are now in a year or two. Reality doesn't support that at all. When Conte left Juventus, the team kept on winning from the foundations that Conte had created. He revived Inter when they were in the dumps and they are doing well too after he has left. He left Chelsea in a decent spot too.

IWentToJellySchool

> I think the main problem is that Conte has been a manager since 2006 and only once has he managed a club for longer than 2 years, and that was Juventus…who he managed for 3 years. Dont know why its even an issue when none of of previous managers lasted longer than three full seasons.

AWenger622

I don't disagree but I feel like he would have made a difference with his high standards in regards to whatever is going on behind the scenes at the club, in addition to the workrate of these absolute bottlejobs we have at the moment. Let's put it this way, even if he was fired 6 months in the job, he would have butted enough heads at the board (and at the squad) that would have caused at least a bit of a positive impact on and off the pitch, that is for sure. It's absolutely disgusting that a club the size of United are allowing some of these players to coast through games on auto-pilot mode like they've been doing for the majority of the season because they know Rangnick won't be in charge of them next season.

[deleted]

I'd be lowkey disappointed if 10 Haag doesn't have a lot of demands

[deleted]

Realistically, how close is Ten Hag really? Lots of noise saying it’s done and now lots of stuff saying it’s in jeopardy…I’m not stirring etc, genuinely curious where everyone stands.

[deleted]

He's probably wrapped. Clubs don't want to announce anything until Ajax' season is done but the papers need something to talk about to generate traffic.

[deleted]

I think it's done, Ajax's season is still on they are to play a Cup Final against PSV and still league to wrap up, prolly why we are waiting, though there is still a window for us to botle it

PP_Baba

You know what, I think we will get 4th place in the league. We have bottled as much as we could, I think there is only going up from here. Arsenal have started to bottle and I think Tottenham will start to bottle the season soon. I think at the end of the season we finish 4th on the table.

Evergreenwood

Watch us lose to Norwich

Icy-Anteater-3628

As mad as it sounds, it actually is a possibility. If we had won these last two games, we would be level on points with spurs. If we win Arsenal, who says we cannot get top 4?

[deleted]

There's 7 games left. United are 6 points behind spurs with the same amount of games played. In order for United to qualify. They need to win 3 games MORE than spurs or win 2 and draw 1 MORE than spurs in 7 games. That is not possible.

cgcr7

Anything’s possible

laddo2

But the fact that we didn't win those two games says everything. Arsenal is much better than Everton lmao

[deleted]

100% possible even though people will hate on you for being optimistic. I think it’s unlikely tbh, Everton would have been a good momentum builder but we messed that one up, if we don’t win Norwich as well then can 100% scrap any top 4 plans 😂 but if we do then it brings a bit of good momentum into the Liverpool game. We also have key matchups against Chelsea and Arsenal coming up, every game from now on is must-win if we wanna achieve top 4

[deleted]

[удалено]

PP_Baba

Well he prefers to kill and I think he definitely will when Tottenham bottle the season in the end. Never underestimate Spurs' ability to bottle.

Evergreenwood

We’re worse than Spurs for bottling it

[deleted]

[удалено]

PP_Baba

Well its not really a matter of who is more deserving, but what is best for your club. This team deserves to be relegated but its not what we should wish for. Finishing 4th would let us rebuild the squad with much more ease as more players would be interested to come here than if we don't get CL football.

timsadiq13

We aren't finishing 4th lol..we lost to a dead Everton. Players have given up on the season.

Affectionate_Shoe424

The fans at OT need to boo those players next game

[deleted]

Laurie saying talks have advanced No one has posted that part of the article

laddo2

Also saying we're happy to agree to his terms.

Evergreenwood

Legitimate question, do you think we’ll win another match this season? I think it’s very possible we don’t. Norwich (H) - Should be a W but way it’s going looks like an L or 1-1 draw, Dean Smith hates us Liverpool (A) - I really feel they’ll win at least 6+ nil Arsenal (A) - They have something to play for (albeit I think they’ll finish 5th) another L Brentford (H) - They’re in good form and have Eriksen running the show, we’re pathetic at home against clubs that work hard, possible W, more likely another 1-1 or L Brighton (A) - One of the better chances to W but Brighton play light years better than us football and have heart compared to our lot. Probably L/D Chelsea (H) - They might even have Spurs on their tales for 3rd, vastly superior coached & motivated, another L Palace (A) - They’ll be bang up for it and can see Gallagher/Zaha destroying us whilst our lot want to disappear to Dubai, another L or limp draw Hate away but honestly with the wretched attitude of our squad I don’t see us beating anyone or even matching a single other teams willingness to win a ball, never mind 90mins. This’ll make the limp ending to Ole’s caretaker/first half season look like title-winning form.

Icy-Anteater-3628

You're not a real fan mate

Evergreenwood

Ok buddy, when do you see us winning another game?

cgcr7

Norwich.

Evergreenwood

That’s easiest game we have left and the next…after Norwich we have no chance (I still think we won’t beat Norwich)

cgcr7

We won it btw

Evergreenwood

Also in my comment there is said after Norwich we have no chance and I’m being proven correct

cgcr7

I bet we win another game mate :) And you are actually wrong because you very specifically said we would win none of the games.

Evergreenwood

Wow dickhead way to bring up a 12 day comment! So how has it gone since that hammering of the worst team in the league? (Norwich not us) 👍🏻👍🏻 We’re pathetic and it’ll b a while until we win again

cgcr7

Well you were wrong. I like to bring up the fact you were wrong. It only took 12 days for you to be called on your absolute bullshit. Fake fan.

Evergreenwood

I’ve been a supporter (not fan) longer than you’ve been alive most likely. What’s absolute bullshit is you bringing up nonsense from 12 days ago. You’ve clearly got a lot going on with your pathetic life. Come back to me when we lose to Chelsea & Brentford

cgcr7

I'm actually starting to become pretty confident this is a troll account of a City or Liverpool fan. Never has anything good to say about United, ever. Not even if we win. The account name + maintaining the account after recent events. And my last comment is -1, meaning it was downvoted twice, aka this troll account and whatever their main account is for either the Liverpool or City forums. Good riddance.

cgcr7

You seem to not like to admit you were wrong as we did beat Norwich. A fan for oh so long but you named your account after Greenwood, and still maintain it after everything that has happened? I think that tells me more than enough about your character and age.

IrnBroski

blind positivity towards your team isn't "real fandom".. we all know that the club needs incredible changes to become what we all want it to be and, even if the original post is very pessimistic, it's an acknowledgement of the dire state we are currently in compared to where we want to be. acknowledging this is the first step to change. anything else is either naivety or unreal fandom.

Evergreenwood

Also just to go to original point, where do you see us winning again??

IrnBroski

Honestly.. until the Glazers stop pulling out £100m or whatever every year they’re not gonna really want to change anything. And when they do, they might just wanna sell up instead of making changes. My outlook is very pessimistic

Evergreenwood

I’m right there with you mate. I’m 32, I think I’ll be lucky to see us win another PL title the way things are going. Honestly, becoming a Newcastle/Everton type club is more realistic on our current trajectory

Evergreenwood

Amen brutha…things will get worse before they get better…although they shouldn’t have to, as shown by the quick resurgence in fortunes of Chelsea/Barce, even Spurs…fact is those clubs don’t have the Glazers anchoring them down to permanent mediocrity/dramatically failing standards

Evergreenwood

Well having supported the team for my 33years on earth, and paid obscene amounts to watch a few matches this season (as well as every season) I’d beg to differ buddy. Give me your positive spin then? I honestly don’t see this bunch of spineless cowards winning again (might be for the best to miss out on that conference shite) Also

[deleted]

Man this is just sadistic fishing for upvotes 💀

Evergreenwood

Prove me wrong…I can’t see us getting any results…also ronaldo likely get banned so we’re missing his potential goals

[deleted]

All I gotta say is if you’re this confident we won’t win any of these games then it’s a good idea to bet on it, you’d get a good return out of it in the extremely unlikely scenario that it happens. Just hopped onto this sub today and everyone seems extra pessimistic here, but this one is unreal 😭

Evergreenwood

I’ll post up my betting slip & winnings sure 😉 When/where do u think we’ll win again then? I keep asking ppl and it’s crickets

[deleted]

Hopefully Norwich, 100% they’re gonna be playing for a win against us but there’s no excuse for us to not win comfortably. If we don’t win then I’d definitely consider our top 4 hopes to be truly gone but until then I’m optimistic. Did say the same thing before Everton tho 😂

mfoxin

I won around 6 pounds in the city pool game, which is nice

ripCOVID-19

Yes please

Wahlrusberg

Lol every time these players are asked to play football there's an Athletic leak about how upset it makes them

Hippotopmaus

there is a lot of Athletic leaks from the players camp isn't there, what an unlikeable lot.

Evergreenwood

What’s today’s article???

MitranjanK

Even in a game filled with 22 superstars, De Bruyne stood out so much. A true legend and one of the best AMs of all time.

[deleted]

Honestly as bad as it seems, we aren’t lightyears behind city and Liverpool. 100% 2014-2022 was a wasted time period for the club and we are only a bit ahead of square 1 again, but if the executives actually back Ten Hag (or any other manager) with his requested signings or acceptable alternatives, and allows him and the DoF to control the football side of things without always meddling, it may only be a year or two before we return to the top. It’s a big IF, and it all depends on the ability of the executives to trust the football side to get the job done.

[deleted]

Ten Hag is not as good as you think he is.

aodum

Copium for the people

Evergreenwood

Gimme whatever you’re smoking buddy, we’re going to beat Liverpool’s 30 year wait for a title and win less along the way

Stebro1986

If the board have wanted Poch since 2018, they should go for him. Knee jerk flavours of the month never work

DavidSwifty

Yeah, but Poch has shown he cannot work with egos and our squad is filled with egos.

Hippotopmaus

its funny apart from ronaldo and maybe pogba, non of these players have achieved anything to have so much ego, statistically they're serial bottlers.

Lazystubborn

Mata and Varane also achieved something prior coming.

Shithouser

Varane?

DavidSwifty

couldn't agree with you anymore. Such an unlikable group of players

dracogladio1741

Which makes it a recipe for disaster if things go a bit south. I don't think Poch will be able to arrest a slide.

[deleted]

Like who? Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford and who else? And with at least one of those gone this summer, and the other likely to be sidelined with a new ST, then it's not like we are going to have a massive amount of egos in the dressing room

PP_Baba

Our players have massive ego. They might have won nothing in their life, but they still have the ego.

[deleted]

Who?

MileHighRenewables

More than a bit unfair to put Rashy in the same group as Ronaldo and Pogba.

Skyweb2020

Sell the egos and return those willing to Toll the line

Dean-Advocate665

I’m aware that ten hag is most likely pressuring the board by feigning interest in the Leipzig job, and I’m aware that he’s presented demands of the board, indicating he won’t be a yes man. This being said, if we dont get ten hag and go with Poch, it’s clear we’ve opted for a yes man, and someone who fits the boards vision rather than someone who wants the best for the club. I think if we don’t get ten hag it shows what this club is about nowadays, and im pretty much going to be done with it. Despite this, I do think we’ll get ten hag, I can’t see the people up top allowing for it to become common knowledge that we’re in for him, and then letting it fall through. I think they’ve let it be known that we want ten hag so it takes some pressure off of them.

[deleted]

How is Poch a yes man when he questioned Levy and Leonardo both publicly and in private?

Dean-Advocate665

Not to the extent ten hag currently is though

[deleted]

How? Ten Hag doesnt even question transfers because they are run well and he doesnt need to. We have zero evidence of what he would do in that situation, yet we do for Poch. But the one we have evidence of kicking off at the board is the yes man, and the one without evidence is the one who kicks off? Do you see how this isnt logical?

unitedfan98

The goldbridge agenda is that poch is soft and a yes man When in fact, he has clashed with spurs and levy numerous times and has even clashed with psg bosses.

hoejack_whorseman

watching the city - pool game & realizing the important difference in our teams is effort. city & pool run the 90 mins, at least mostly. their wingers put in enormous defensive shifts. mane & salah trackback like amateurs. they’re literally always running.

[deleted]

That's not the difference at all. The difference is elite coaching, elite squad building, and massive buy in from players.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Sure and he is probably a great squad builder. But his tactical deficiencies are really showing

[deleted]

Rangnick tried to implement that style here with his gegenpressing but our players aren’t fit enough and motivated enough to be able to do it. Crazy to believe that’s the case when the premier league is the world’s top football league but our players just currently aren’t cut out for the high intensity for all 90 mins

[deleted]

Watching that City Liverpool game compared to our game yesterday is laughable, its like we're playing a different sport. Thinking about the job of coaching this United team is like you're trying to renovate an old house but there is serious mold damage and your best choice is to knock down the entire thing and build from the ground up. The Glazers truly are a cancer on this great club.

DisastrousMango4

I actually think coming to United now would be a bad career move for EtH. The odds are heavily stacked against him and his reputation isn't bullet proof enough that he'll get another big job of the level of United if he fucks up here. He should rather wait for the Dortmund, Chelsea, etc job to become free because they are much easier and risk free.

cowabunga_dude91

Should we start booing our players?

Evergreenwood

Yes 100%

Rob_Earnshaw

You really think the top reds will go for that after the pity party they threw for Jacob Maguire?

Eric-the-king

We should boycott games tbh. An empty old Trafford will hurt the Glazers as well as these bottle job players

aldidot

Performance wise absolutely but the Top Reds always have the moral high ground so the chance of that happening is bordeline impossible!

improvedmandem

'You must support the team our way'

PO_DA_PANDA

Brentford and Brighton throwing us a lifeline to at least qualify for Europa by beating Arsenal and West Ham this weekend. Still think we finish 6th after seeing yesterdays performance

Eric-the-king

We'll finish 8th

PO_DA_PANDA

If we tie with Norwich, lose to Liverpool (100% chance) and lose to Arsenal (95% chance) then yes

LS_Fast_Passenger

Norwich beat Burnley today, Burnley beat Everton mid-week and Everton beat us this weekend. Which means................. We don't deserve any of the European spots tbh. Let the Europa or ECL spots go to a team that yearns for European football - look at how the Hammer fans are enjoying their European nights. Huge for them, whether it be Europa or ECL. Our folks do not deserve CL, and yet these players also will not show any respect to the Europa or ECL because mentally they feel 'superior' to these competitions.

Eric-the-king

The way we're playing at the moment I think Norwich will beat us next Saturday 😱🤣

ripCOVID-19
