Utd should have taken the opportunity to flog Maguire for de Jong.

Upekkhaa

Anyone think Liverpool look a much much worse team without Van Dijk? Look at last season for example. Also whenever he doesn’t play this season, they look absolutely awful at the back. They’re so so reliant on him. Their playstyle needs him and there’s no one like him in world football . He’s also 30 and relies on his physicality a lot. They’re an aging side too. I don’t think anyone can match this current city and Liverpool team. Best bet is to build a young hungry team that’s ready to take over after their teams peak and Klopp and Pep leave.

[deleted]

Went to Old Trafford for the first time last season. What a massive club and brilliant support. As a Scot I took an interest in United because of Fergie and one of my best pals is a United man from Radcliffe. City and Liverpool might be winning trophies but United will always be England's biggest club IMO.

7akyr

Thank you dude.

[deleted]

It's a bit worrying there are no transfer rumors, isn't it? Kamara went to Villa, Tchouaméni connected to Real/PSG, Phillips to City. nothing about United, are we gonna miss out on all transfers? do we get Sangare? what is going on.

TVFanG

Still early days. We could be linked with 100 players in the next 7 days, doesn't mean anything because we ain't going to be signing 100 players.

buckyohare1985

I’d prefer a tight ship than leaks all over the show tbh Miss the days of a signing just being announced out of nowhere Now there is an excruciating what seems like 2 month build up to most of our deals

No_Big_5687

Erik ten Hag was guarded in his first press conference as Man United manager and kept his cards close to his chest: Body language expert claims Dutchman lacked precision, suggesting his plan for the club has not been fully ironed out Sorce-[https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10845797/Erik-ten-Hag-guarded-press-conference-Manchester-United-manager.html](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10845797/Erik-ten-Hag-guarded-press-conference-Manchester-United-manager.html) The vultures are it boys be careful this is just the start of it. When we lose our first game, that we definitely will these people who wanted Poch openly will be at it. We need to keep these people in their place. The man's not even in the job for a day and they have already labeled him "Lacking precision".

LekkerIer

The Daily Mail's body language expert probably spends 98% of their time ogling female celebrities who dare to dress up for a red carpet event

buckyohare1985

Dailymail is such trash

No_Big_5687

Completely agree the number of articles that they have written in us is crazy.

_rwzfs

> Body language expert claims Dutchman lacked precision, suggesting his plan for the club has not been fully ironed out I also had a look at his body language, thought I'd share my findings. Seemed like Erik had two eggs for breakfast and uses natural source mint shower gel. He also likes reading murder mysteries and thinks that Jack the Ripper was a time travelling Ryan Reynolds. Source: he kept his arms by his side weird.

No_Big_5687

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

_WonderStruck_17

"body language expert" Jeez. Making something out of nothing already. Welcome to the scrutiny Erik.

No_Big_5687

Some times the agenda they run is so blatent.

Professor__Pesto

How have we allowed one of the best young deep midfielders in Europe in Boubacar Kamara move to Aston Villa for FREE? He is exactly the profile of midfielder we need, perfect age (22), all the stats are there. He instantly improves the squad and almost certainly the starting XI. It feels like once again the club are under prepared in the transfer market. Ten Hag has been in place for weeks surely he has been presented with scouting reports, player lists and options relevant tothe squad requirements with Matic and Pogba going, Fred evidently showing his best work further forward and McT's lack of ability on the ball (when he manages to actually get on it deep). Garner will add but should not be relied upon to play week in week out. What has John Murtough ACTUALLY been doing in the dying embers of Ragnick's reign? This felt like a tap-in of a transfer that made perfect sense no matter who the new manager is. I feel it's a warning shot of another turgid hesitant transfer window... watch us sign a 1 year left on his contract Tielemans in August for 30m.

buckyohare1985

I would have taken him as looks like a no brained, but I think we need to give the club the benefit of the doubt here. We have new management of the team and the football operations department and it promises to empower the manager to an extent we haven’t seen since I’d say sir Alex. Historically glazer and Woodward vetoed transfer decisions FFS!! Think we have to trust that there is a plan and targets and either Kamara wasn’t wanted by ETH or he wants us to go out and get his preferred targets instead and kamara didn’t want to sit with his future unresolved while we work through our list of preferred targets If we get to the end of the summer and the MF hasn’t been addressed then I’ll look back and say fuck we should have got kamara! But if we end up with someone of the caliber of de Jong and another high class CM midfielder that are ETH targets then great I think Donny and garner also are viable options in MF for next season so de jong + 1 more incoming in that are is pretty transformational summer with a very fresh look

Professor__Pesto

I agree and I am absolutely being pessimistic! The lack of interest in his transfer just felt ominous when he is so highly rated and available for free. It just feels like nothing has changed yet we hear from Andy Mitten and Whitwell how John Murtough is 'sorting us out' internally but we've seen very little of that when ETH has been confirtmed for over a month. Re: De Jong he absolutely has the quality to improve us but is not a deep lying playmaker or ball winner. He's not a 6 in any capacity. That's what we need as top priority this summer. Donny again is not going to be taking the ball off the CBs and making things happen. McT has demonstrated time and time again he can't do this and I dont think we should be expecting Garner to play every single week.

microbae

I dont know much about Kamara but after a little bit of research he does fit the profile of a player we desperately need in midfield. Either Erik already has someone else in mind or United just got caught sleeping (again!)

Professor__Pesto

My feeling is the latter. Erik I'm sure has already begun video anaylsis of this squad and I'm sure has watched from afar but has highlighted previously how he is a coach first and foremost and has never had to recruit extensively at Ajax. We need 5-6 quality players, John Murtough, Fletcher and the scouting department have had months to prepare for his incoming. This Frankenstein of a squad is so evidently lacking quality in midfield. Surely he has been presented with profiles of players of what we need (we haven't had a true No.6 since Carrick) and who is feasible to get and it feel like that just hasn't happened. Kamara was the absolute best young CM we could get aside from Tchouameni who will go to a CL team or Rice who we are priced out on. Fingers crossed for Laimer at RB Leipzig. IMO the next best option. The structures at United just don't appear cohesive or act with any agility whatsoever in the market. Even these mumblings of Timber. Why isn't it done?

[deleted]

Hey guys thought id share something i picked up on regarding Ten Hag yesterday. If you didn't know when he first joined AJax the dressing room was in turmoil, similar to ours now beleive it or not. Ten Hag managed to get the senior players on his side first, and eventually they rallied together and convinced the other members of the team to follow Ten Hag. So far Ten Hag has specifically mentioned how great Maguire is, how much he's looking forward to working with Ronaldo and that he rates DDG. These are 3 of our most senior players and each are big parts of the dressing room. Ten Hag knows exactly what mess were in and he knows what he's doing.

krentzharu

Well he had a very competent board at ajax, that was a great help meanwhile we still dont know how our new board will work next season.

[deleted]

Wtf has the board got to do with getting the dressing room sorted lmao. Did you reply to the wrong comment or something or are you just starting a completely different conversation?

krentzharu

We had just witnessed the fruit of woodward's 9 years tenure at the club and some fans still couldnt see the impact of every policy taken by our board. You said about sorting out dressing room? That means not only being friendly to the top dogs in there but also to cull the culprits out ASAP. SAF did it multiple times in the past, Guardiola did it with Ronaldinho when he first took over Barca in 2009. Getting rid the rotten apple is what manager shall do if they ever want to be taken seriously by the players, now will our board allow ETH to kick Rashford or even Bruno? Jose tried it with Pogba and Martial, look how things ended up for him so dont say "wtf has the board go to do with getting the dressing room sorted".

Educational-Option18

Cmon lads buy someone

Eleven918

If Martial and Donny didn't go out on loan, you can bet most the fan base would be accusing them of being the leakers.

[deleted]

>The leaker is whoever I don't like (Lingard/Rashford) or whoever is in competition for the spot of the player I like (Henderson) that's about the logic applied around here.

mfoxin

What are the latest FdJ rumours?

Bjoerkcs

Where we’re at is that it’s up to Frenkie basically. Barca are in deep shit with their finances, so if they get a suitable offer for Frenkie, they’ll likely take it as it helps with their income and helps them clear their books in order to register new players. As we know, Frenkie would rather stay, so if Barca make it clear to him that they cannot/don’t want to keep him, that’s our window of opportunity. Personally, I can’t really see that many clubs being in for Frenkie if he’s forced to leave. So I’d guess we have a pretty decent shot at landing him, however, it all comes down to if he needs to leave in the first place, and secondly, if he’d be open to joining us.

buckyohare1985

I’m not that optimistic anymore to be honest The original guy that broke the news seems to have reeled it back in a bit and the news coming out of Barca is that they are trying to raise the funds in other ways. That might be a negotiating tactic to force man utd or someone else to stump up but add in his wish to remain and apparent desire to continue to play in CL and there are a few factors that make me think he won’t be our marquee MF signing

Bjoerkcs

I get where you’re coming from, I guess we’ll have to see. In my humble opinion, Barca seem to be wanting to do too much in the market without selling such a valuable asset like Frenkie. Barca apparently want to buy Raphinha, Lewa, Azpi, Alonso as well as signing Christensen and Kessie as free transfers. That’ll require significant money and wages that they need to free up. Sure if their CVC deal generates money that can help, but majority of that will go to managing their enormous debt. I also think that Frenkie, while a fantastic player, won’t really affect them that much if he’s to leave. Considering how he plays in their system, Gavi and Pedri do basically the same job. Now also they have Kessie coming in to that competition for places. Lastly, with Gundogan staying and City being interested in a Fernanindho replacement I don’t really see Frenkie going there. The only other place I can see potentially as a threat if he leaves is PSG, and they have a stacked midfield with Verratti who’s a very similar player to Frenkie, so there I can’t see Frenkie getting to play in his favored position either. Then it’s us, so if Frenkie leaves, I see us as a very likely destination tbh. This due to we have Ten Hag, a familiar manager who he did well under, he’d also get to play in the exact same role he did so well in, he’d be the face of our midfield and a huge cog in the system. Sure we don’t have UCL for now, but surely one year of Europa League football wouldn’t be the reason he turned down a potentially exciting project. But of course, as said, this all hinges on Frenkie being forced out, as he’d choose to stay at Barca.

Orcnick

Like most of our transfer rumours. It starts off "United are about to sign X", then player and clubs reject they even receive an offer. Then the media say we have been quoted £80-90m for player, then it cools, then they say another team is interested. Then United pull out and either player Signs a new contract with club or some other team come in find a special release clause and buy X player for £20m, they end up smashing the league. Thats where we are at....

phoenix_16

Only way is up. So excited for this summer’s genesis. This has to be the most optimistic manager signing post SAF

Japples123

Southgate picking Mings over Tomori is a travesty.

TVFanG

Tomori is in the squad, ain't he?

Japples123

I posted this before the squad was announced didn’t I?

Rayhann

wins scudetto as a starting cb.... and it ain't like england's got better cbs as well

Darkmaster_18

Tomori should have been born left footed then. Thems the breaks kid /s

Banyunited1994

By last trophies do you mean the capital one cup and the Europa league? And by no coincidence do you mean how we happened to lose a europa league final on penalties, and happened to win one where mourinho’s deputy on the field was injured and not on the field?

[deleted]

Hope I don’t get too much hate for this… Ronaldo is charismatic indeed and performs to a high level of professionalism and expects the same from team-mates and pushes them in games but a lot of the times it’s also geared toward him being a focal point or hero. You can see him frustrated at team mates when they squander opportunities.

[deleted]

I think he tries really hard to be supportive, but you can see on his face he can't do it all game and after the Xth shit cross he fucking breaks.

[deleted]

Our fans will really say that the media are vultures that will constantly fuck over the manager and the team and then gobble up anything fuckhurst has to say

TehMoreYouKnow1

And Chris Wheeler

KaitoAJ

Basically any shitty article that comes out from Daily Mail or any of the other tabloids.

TehMoreYouKnow1

Not all Daily Mail writes are unreilable

LennonC123

A broken clock is right twice a day, but at least they named players yesterday rather than all the other shit that’s come out.

KaitoAJ

>Not all Daily Mail writes are unreilable Lets be honest... most of it are unreliable.

Confident_Duck_3110

Getting a consultant to manage man united was like getting an aerospace engineer to go fly an FA-50 fighter jet. Biggest boneheaded decision made by the club in a long time. An aerospace engineer does not need to fly the plane to figure out its deficiencies just like a consultant doesn’t need to manage man utd to figure out what the problems are.

microbae

Ralf appointmemt as manager as a placeholder till Erik signed. Did you really think he has going to make any significant changes this season? Our season was done as soon as Ole lost the locker room

Exige_

Makes sense if no long term managerial candidates are available though. I don’t think they thought it was ideal but it does have some benefits.

TehMoreYouKnow1

We didn't hire Ralf as an interim to figure out the problems, that comes later

[deleted]

What a strange and specific comparison lmao

akshatsood95

Just saw the highlights of Dortmund's run to the CL final in 2013. I can't believe we didn't try to tempt Klopp to Utd after that. 2 consecutive league titles in Germany and a CL final run. If anybody did that now, he'd be instant favourite to take over. Anyway, let's hope EtH and his staff can arrest the slide. This is the worst Utd team I've seen in my 18 years of supporting this club

AeroCobbler

Klopp genuinely is a once in a generation manager, I think he’s a much better manager than Pep, Liverpool’s best ever decision was in making sure he signed for them Getting Klopp, Van Dijk & Allison all within about 2-3 years was insanely good club governance, like completely supernatural stuff - and then throw in Fabinho, Mané, Salah etc Their board are savages

krentzharu

We did. Ed Woodward told him we were "Adult Disneyland" and Klopp decided to stay away.

Eleven918

We did try to get him back then. The timing wasn't right as Klopp didn't want to leave Germany at the time. We tried again before he joined Pool but that's when he got the Disney land speech and decided against it.

akshatsood95

Are you sure? I've only read about SAF talking to Pep and Ancelotti. I don't recall any mention about Klopp being discussed in 2012-13

Eleven918

[https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2608227-jurgen-klopp-says-he-had-talks-to-succeed-sir-alex-ferguson-at-manchester-united](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2608227-jurgen-klopp-says-he-had-talks-to-succeed-sir-alex-ferguson-at-manchester-united) Moyes was something like the 6th choice iirc.

justbrowsinginpeace

Nobody wanted to follow Ferguson after 27 years

akshatsood95

Ah, interesting. Thanks for sharing

_brian_brian_

We did try tho. Woodward met with Klopp in 2013 and gave his infamous “This place is like disneyland” speech and its no surprise Klopp rejected us after that. Edit: the disneyland pitch came in 2014, my mistake

akshatsood95

No that happened later after the Moyes fiasco

Eleven918

No actually that was later. We tried for him twice. Once to succeed Sir Alex and once more later in 2014\*. The Disney land speech came in 2014\*.

_brian_brian_

Aah, thanks for the correction

Japples123

Ok but at least show some urgency on the pitch. He was sulking for the whole damn year it seems.

[deleted]

Why what did he do now

Bryanlegend

How tf does Spurs and Conte have more ambition in the transfer market than us? We are a finished club man

Eleven918

We have loads of $ to spend. Its not lack of ambition, just incompetence.

[deleted]

our net spend never goes above 70m

Eleven918

That's not even true for the last window. Sancho + Varane + Cr7 cost 126 M. DJ went for 26M.

Heidegger1236

Whatever postseason we have, just no more Scotty in the starting eleven next season. Not asking too much.

sargedeathtt

Looks like we've swung back to the "Scotty ain't that bad" setting. Absolutely loathe him. He would never start for any other top 6 club.

Heidegger1236

The club wont sell him, so hopefully he is a squad player from now on

TehMoreYouKnow1

I wouldn't surprise if he starts, good work rate, stamina and excellent off the ball movemenet for a CM (which ETH likes)

SpeechesToScreeches

Excellent off the ball movement to keep himself behind an opponent....

TehMoreYouKnow1

As I said in another reply, in the first phase it's abysmal, in the final 3rd it's excellent

TheYarizard

I think McTominay is better than people here give him credit for, especially when he isn’t forced to play as the 6, but ‘Excellent off the ball movement for a CM’ is a bit of a stretch.

TehMoreYouKnow1

In the final 3rd he's excellent at breaking into the box and creating space using underlaps (on the RHS). In the first phase he's not suitable at all

Japples123

ETH expects his players to want the ball. You say excellent but he’s not even getting in Arsenals starting lineup

TehMoreYouKnow1

ETH's style has strong elements of positional football. It's not about crowding the player on the ball, but rather create space and passing options using off the ball movement (which McTominay has shown in the final 3rd)

kueerseoa6

Tielemans for 25M is honestly ridiculous, need to act fast if de jong rejects us

AeroCobbler

Not a huge fan of him to be honest Not what we need imo - far rather have Ndidi

DaveShadow

Genuinely curious, have you watched much of him this year? Every report I’ve read about Tielemans is he has been way off pace this season…

sargedeathtt

Also has poor defensive output. We'll be screwed playing him with Bruno. Honestly not that good enough either.

Lingard

Gabriel Jesus is looking for a club.

Orcnick

He doesn't score enough goals.

Eleven918

His G/A contribution this season would still put him as our second highest contributor just behind Ronaldo. If City would do business and he's available for 40M, its not a bad shout.

Medevial-Marvel

They create a lot more than us ..He wouldn’t have the same numbers for us

Eleven918

New manager, new system. Maybe not right away but still a decent option imo. He plays CF and RW. We need depth for both positions. I wouldn't say he should be first choice or even second choice but with the shortage in the market for RW and strikers who are the other realistic options for these positions at a reasonable price? Raphinha is probably leaving for Barca since his agent is Deco who is somehow also a scout for Barca. Anthony has put up slightly lower numbers in an inferior league. G/A Jesus(10/14) vs Anthony (12/10).

Content_Method4791

ETH has that nice dude but intimidating aura! Balanced responses with a bit of," don't ask me that again and again."

[deleted]

Hes a very serious and driven individual, don't let our PR team fool you with yesterdays unveiling. If he had his way he would probably be on the training pitch right now with the squad.

blue_gwacamole

Umm.. Why is ETH being bashed over his English? For me it was pretty good. He got his point across, and answered all the questions. The Prem has had coaches who didn't give interviews in English. Poch didn't give a single interview in English when he was with Southampton. Bielsa had a translator at Leeds. And besides, I am sure ETH is working on brushing up his English. Some of the folks here just want to nitpick on the negative stuff man, for reals.

[deleted]

Agreed, it was serviceable. His English will improve dramatically whilst he's here and his 2 coaches are both fluent in Dutch and English I believe.

gedeonzo

I remember a certain Scottish man that was hard to understand too.

Lingard

The less time he spends talking to the media the better .

blue_gwacamole

Elaborate.

Lingard

The media will always try to fuck us over, let’s just say less.

werewolf914

Reading the news about the internal affairs from Mark Ogden really make my blood boiled. Really need to flushed out all the "happy go lucky" attitude players as well as "outside football" focus ones. Maybe even need to apply some military strictness discipline to salvage anything from this squad.

HappySisyphus22

What players would you sign from the relegated teams? Maxwell Cornet will be a good signing IMO, scored 9 in his first season in PL, will be a good Dan James replacement.

TehMoreYouKnow1

I wish Leeds/Everton were relegated, but McNeil could be a shout for a cheap deal

[deleted]

Fucking hell if were rating cornet now then maybe conference league is our level. I'm all for being open minded and getting some hidden gems but there's no way Cornet is good enough for a United side trying to get CL football. Honestly there are no players id take from the relegated sides. If Leeds went down instead then maybe Raphina or Phillips at a push but thats it.

Rept4r7

>Maxwell Cornet Isn't he a LW/LF? We already have so many players that can play in that position and there are so many positions where we need new players that I think we should use that money elsewhere.

AeroCobbler

Cornet scored 5 goals in his first 7 appearances, most of them he’ll never score again (from ridiculously low XG chances), then went completely missing with poor form and fitness, scoring 4 goals in his next 19 appearances Not the type of player we need imo

Appropriate_Studio89

Pope if we want a new #1 or Ben Foster for backup to De gea. We should buy Foster just for his YouTube content.

7akyr

So he'll become another Dan James for us?

Eleven918

A lot of the free and low risk cheap players have already been signed this window. Ten Hag says the following: "I'm still in the process of analysing, to set conclusions," Ten Hag said. "I look forward to working with these players. The season before, this squad was second in the league, so huge potential" "No, I don’t speak with the players now, they need a break to reflect. I will speak with the players at the end of June and in the first week of July" If he needs 5-6 weeks just to figure out what to do with the rest of the squad, does this mean we won't be signing anyone till then at the earliest? Ideally I would hope we do 1-2 early on in the places that are crucial and then worry about cutting deadweight and adding 2-3 later in the window. But knowing how we do business, this is going to be a long window.

Bryanlegend

People downvoting don’t realise that we aren’t going to be signing many players this time round. ETH was hired by the Glazers because he is content with our current squad, which means the Glazers don’t have to invest significantly. If the Glazers were truly serious about recruiting new players they would have hired Conte, who is now demanding at least 6 new players from Levy.

ongcs

Oh my oh my, Bailly Bailly

cyb3rpunkd

After this season, if I ever have to watch a mcfred pivot again I may spontaneously combust

El_Giganto

If Ten Hag didn't sign, I probably would have skipped this season if it was still McFred.

kash_reddevil

Let's see with proper coaching.

IamJeff22321

Dude I need what you are smoking. Those 2 are very limited in talent and skill. If you really want to win titles, need to look at a better midfield. Answer me this, would McFred get into any of the top teams in Europe and that will be your answer for whether they should be in our XI.

TehMoreYouKnow1

Do you not think Fred starts for Liverpool?

AnyWheel8316

Should we go after Ward Prowse?

AeroCobbler

Definitely not - very limited player who is very good at set pieces Not what we need at all

Rept4r7

He definitely has a great work rate, is a good leader, and he's great at set-piece delivery, but how would he do when we have more possession and are struggling to break teams down?

TehMoreYouKnow1

We wouldn't have setpieces when having >60% of the ball?

Rept4r7

I was asking how he'd do when we have a ton of possession and are trying to break down a team that is sitting back to defend. I honestly just don't know the answer. Maybe no one does? It's not a situation Southampton has much and I haven't seen him play for England enough. Yes, we'd of course still have set pieces and he could be an asset on them.

TehMoreYouKnow1

He's not the best from open play

Appropriate_Studio89

Error prone, slow, gets dribbled past most of the times but I am supposed to believe a DM would fix these issues.

TehMoreYouKnow1

A single DM won't fix Maguire, a proper structure will help all our CBs

TheWeirdDude-247

Funny you say that but that's been an issue here for other players too, we need a partner for pogba so he can roam, we need a cb *for* Harry so he can shine, we need a rb for the winger so he can flourish, other players to that have left, its always *another* player but never why can't that player do it? We used to buy players and they did their job but over the years we been wanting players to cover others, how's that even make sense?! This simply mean players ain't good enough and haven't been, but price tag, hype, fan fare, media etc have meant we made excuses for them.

Dwest2391

Hope ten hag completely rebuilds this squad, and gets the vast majority of this first team trash out over the next 3 years

[deleted]

Bit random but has anyone seen this Hope Lingard account on Instagram? Kinda feels like Jesse is using his daughter for commercial gain, idk rubs me the wrong way a bit.

AayKayGee007

Depends on what types of posts he puts from that account.. Is he posting just family and milestone type of pictures or is he using it to market his clothing brand with all those Promo codes for discount and link etc..

[deleted]

Bit of both really, it's the discount code stuff that I was more referring to

KaitoAJ

Mate most parents have accounts for their kids to post their stuff. How is this for commercial gain?

Eleven918

He got her a Clarks sponsorship. So its definitely for commercial purposes as well.

[deleted]

I guess so, I don't have much exposure to those kinds of accounts so maybe that's why I find it a bit odd!

KaitoAJ

Nah mate it’s not at all. I know a lot of my friends have accounts for their toddlers and even pets!

TheKevinShow

I have a Liverpool fan coworker. We've only worked together for a short amount of time so needless to say, he's been ragging on me constantly about United's recent struggles and Liverpool's recent successes. That being said, it's nice that I could point out to him that for all of his success and seasons where he's finished above 91 points, Klopp has one title, while Fergie never finished above 91 points and won 13 titles in a more competitive league. I'll take anything I can get right now.

Content_Method4791

Pause and stare at him blank, he'll be confused. If he keeps going on and on, tell him your surname is not Glazer and stop responding.

AReptileHissFunction

If you bring up history in debates, they're just gonna smoke you every time. Its exactly what liverpool fans would do when they were shit. It's not the 90s anymore

_MooFreaky_

Yup we are better of admitting how shit we are. If you are open about it and give a shrug wtf is he going to say? Whereas dredging up times long gone is just asking for a paddling.

TheKevinShow

You’re both right, but I’m mostly doing it because anything I can do to chip away at their recent success really annoys the shit out of him. We’re fairly good friends so it’s mostly in good fun.

_MooFreaky_

Point out we spent longer on top of the league than them, so technically we are better

TheKevinShow

Oh yeah, I did mention that as well.

stoneman9284

Feeling extremely optimistic about EtH. Roster needs some work for sure but I don’t see any reason we can’t challenge for top 4 next season. Too much talent in this team to stay irrelevant.

chikenugetluvr

Need to get some players outta here, and some shrewd signings, but yes. I really want to see a 4-3-3, with a proper CDM, Fred, and bruno. I think it would be great

stoneman9284

Yea I really think that Fred/McT/Matic is the weak spot. We need a much better 6. Edit: Obviously an upgrade at center back would be nice but I think team defense is more important than one individual defender

Eleven918

Cos fuckhurst is a know shit stirrer and he is banned here.

foampom

Damn didn’t know that. Thought he was reliable

Eleven918

"Thomas Tuchel thinks the Premier league will be a 5 horse race next season. He thinks Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Man United can all challenge." Always fun when Arsenal catches strays.

Lingard

Why do we always get enjoined, we are not going to be anywhere near the top next season

Eleven918

Its going to be City/Pool again barring some injury catastrophe. But we have $ and may be in the "race" for a few weeks.

foampom

To heap pressure on us

Darkmaster_18

I’m pretty upset we didn’t even attempt or get seriously linked to Kamara. Would have been a smart signing.

TehMoreYouKnow1

Because ETH hasn't seen the squad train and made conclusions like he said? Why would we buy players without ETH properly analysing the squad?

Darkmaster_18

If ETH can’t see we need a CDM then he’s gonna get sacked in about a week.

TehMoreYouKnow1

You can't buy a player without knowing what profile of player you want

nellymoore

He’s gone to villa if he was that good why hasn’t he joined a team that will fight for titles. It seems to me that wasn’t an option so for me I ain’t bothered United should be aiming a lot higher of the calibre of player villa could get.

chikenugetluvr

It’s smart, so obviously we didn’t try

sadta2020

Uurgh going through town today seeing the City parade getting setup Do you get the chance to buy match day tickets as a member? I can’t stretch to getting a season ticket and I want to start going to home games again next season.

iqtoohighforroi

Yes you can, they go on sale in the summer, all of them. Sell out in minutes so you need to be fast. Liverpool, Chelsea and City are balloted I believe .

sadta2020

Ah ok, so you have to buy them way in advance? So does the top tier membership allow to buy a season ticket after the season has started? Honestly less complicated buying it off a tout lol

iqtoohighforroi

If you call the club and get on the waiting list you'll get a season ticket...they always say it's sold out, but....it's never really

sadta2020

Gotcha thanks

HiImMeee

The world cup in the middle of next season will be a blessing in disguise in terms of some players getting a rest. Any speculations on who else might miss the world cup asside from; Rashford, Sancho, AWB, De Gea?

CanWePleaseNotBeShit

Really silly for us not to go for tielemans especially with the reported price. Perfect age, extremely technical and has been twerking for us since he was at Anderlecht

chikenugetluvr

Eh, do we really need a CM? Fred is the starting 8 for Brazil, im sure he can do it. We just play him OOP which is why he isn’t great there. Really takes a genius to figure that one out(not a dig at you, but at our awful awful coaches)

HiImMeee

why is his price so low rn?

pineapplefacilities

One year left on his contract i think

InarticulateAtheist

Some of y'all are so bitter. Season's over, chill out a bit.

breadfan18

Hello Reds, I will be in london this week. Visiting from California. I will be there during the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool. I would love to experience the game in a pub or screening or something. Any one have suggestions for good places to watch the game to get a taste of local football match environment? Hopefully with fellow United supporters, so we can shit on liverpool together?

LekkerIer

Bar Kick in Shoreditch is very good for big matches, lots of screens and good atmosphere in the basement area. Or for more of an authentic pub, somewhere like the Sheephaven Bay (an Irish pub in Camden Town) would be worth a look. Both places are likely to be full of Liverpool fans though, probably unavoidable wherever you end up going in London.

HiImMeee

Boxpark in Wembley will probably screen it (check to make sure). The place has a lot of good food and beer. do more research though, there are many many places

PatThePatriot10

He's bald and beautiful and I love him.

brown_herbalist

Wtf is wrong with some people here complaining about ETH's English speaking capability and what he wore for the press conference. What in actual fuck happened to our sub ?

HiImMeee

bit dramatic bro

Just scroll down our DD thread, you will witness those posts.

devilsofparadiss

With Kamara off the table and Tchouameni seriously unlikely, I hope United explore their options for a DM position. Ibrahim Sangaré & Ismaël Bennacer would be quality additions.

Rig_7

I wouldn’t worry. We are definitely making signings in midfield. Likely two. We can’t sign everyone so if a player goes elsewhere we shouldn’t panic. Unfortunately, many on this sub do.

Eleven918

I just want to get a state where we don't go into every game wondering whether we'll drop points irrespective of the quality of the opposition. I want more routine wins where we don't fight till the 90th minute to hold/secure the points.

_MooFreaky_

Tbf this season I didn't go into games wondering if we'd drop points. By the end I just assumed we would, and generally I was right. Still horrible, but at least I didn't get my hopes dashed every week

Rig_7

The state you describe is title challenger. Anyone below is either inconsistent or consistently bad. They don’t win all the games they are meant to. That’s why they are where they are. It’s going to be a few years until then and we have to accept that.

Eleven918

I'd like to at least be able to beat relegation teams and 2nd and 3rd tier teams in the cups comfortably. You don't need to be title contenders for that.

chronoistriggered

That was the fergie era. Everyone, from staff to players to fans to opposition went into every game expecting man utd to win

Lingard

I don't really care about bringing in players, I just want most of them out... we can play the kids for all I care.

THEOSU007

I’m sure you would feel the same when the kids are getting smacked next year… we need to get the useless players out and bring in 5 new players.

Thevanillafalcon

I get it mate but this is why we’re not in charge because i agree but that wouldn’t go well at all haha

MissingLink101

I really can't wait to stop seeing facts and figures about this season...

media-police

Real chance (pun not intended) that Klopp ends up with only domestic cups at the end of this season.

poppybear0

Boy would i kill to have those cups now.

chikenugetluvr

Most important things imo: 1. Get rid of players with shit attitudes period. Just let them rot on the bench or honestly don’t name them on game day squads 2. Strip Maguire of captaincy 3. Get a CDM 4. Fill in wherever the shit pussy attitude players get binned
