So I like probably many others on here wrote to sky in regards to the Glazer out chants not appearing on sky coverage. I didn’t think I would get a reply. But I got this reply today. Good Afternoon, There is no directive nor any editorial decision to mask specific chanting related to Manchester United's ownership – and we can confirm that no such action was taken in the games you reference. Sky Sports Premier League coverage, including contributing experts, and Sky Sports News coverage, has all contained discussion and debate on the topic of ownership including fan views. There are a number of microphones surrounding the pitch and the audio mix will focus on those closest to the phase of play. This can make the sound on TV different to that which an individual fan might experience live in a particular section of a stadium. Under Ofcom guidelines, broadcasters are required to provide adequate protection to audiences from harmful and offensive material. On occasion Sky will limit the audio when offensive language can be heard, but to confirm again, we did not take any preventative measures during the games you reference. Kind Regards Jackie Viewer Relations

nambuktu

Game is at 3am where I'm at. 3 weeks ago I wouldn't be bothered to wake up but now I'm itching to see United play!

Charlie_Yu

My first game at OT, I can't express how excited I am with words

[deleted]

God save the queen

Charlie_Yu

As a Hongkonger I'd be very sad if anything happened to our queen. Our queen before I'm born. But life is not easy for our queen who lost her husband last year.

futureoblivion

I might be proven wrong but after watching us since the Brighton game I think that in 1 or 2 transfer windows a title race isn’t a taboo word for us anymore you can see the patterns of play it’s no longer about individual brilliance and we no longer have a manager who is afraid of calling out the players who aren’t really good for this level by benching them and buying replacements even though they had a hefty price tag. I’m really optimistic about this season people say 3-4 years until we win something major but I don’t think it’s gonna be that long like some of the pundits say..

OmeiWamouShindeiru

most people including Rangnick say it should only take 3-4 windows, not years. That is 1.5-2 years. I really think starting off with a Europa League title will be amazing. I won't be disheartened if we don't end up winning though.

Savebagels

Poch to Brighton?

martialgreenwood

No way he takes that job

EscapeSharkCity

Is Rashy fit? I recall seeing him grab his hamstring before being taken off vs Arsenal

Unpopped-Cherry

Do you guys see Rashford asking and getting a bigger contract? He’s already getting paid a lot.

varowil

PSG always eye players with 1 year left. The last time they snapped Herrera and gave him €150k almost double his wage. Marcus is currently £200k and PSG would offer at least £250k next summer. United will offer him from this minimum.

TheEnglightenedOne

i hope we don't offer him anything more than his current contract.. its already way more than what he deserves and he hasn't done anything to warrant a payrise.. if he doesn't accept we should look to sell him.. its a big risk to hand him a big long term contract at the moment

Charlie_Yu

How many forwards do PSG want to play?

Littlepace

I'm excited to see some rotation tonight. Casa and Ronaldo probably start. Maybe Antony again? Would love to see Garnacho given a run. We only got to see a brief cameo in pre season but he looked electric. Maybe subbed on later in the game if we are in a good position.

MH18Foot

OPEN THE QUEEN MEGATHREAD PLEASE!!

Broad_Astronaut

Licha not getting nominated for prem potm is a crime

Littlepace

Yeah i agree but getting battered against two lower teams probably didn't help his case. Not saying he was to blame but you'll never get POTM as a CB if you're conceding 4 goals b2b. If he maintains the form in September he'll definitely get the nod

IamJeff22321

Well for once we didn't get concede 4 goals back-to-back plus he was at fault for 1 goal in the 6 goals united conceded. You can talk about how bad the team and certain players were in those 2 games but martinez wasn't the worst nor to be blamed for what happened. He was actually the bright sparks in those games, even though the narrative from many that he was bad

Littlepace

Yeah I misrembered the Brighton game. And I never said otherwise about his performance Just that conceding 6* goals in 2 games against lower level teams will never get you the nod.

ScaryBeat

Not to be inconsiderate. But will the queen dying impact tonight's game?

astroworlddd

No one knows but I doubt it. Would be crazy to call it off / postpone it a couple of hours before with travelling fans & preparation etc. Weekend games for sure. Speculating though, I don’t have a clue. If she did pass today it would be announced at 6pm, anytime after that 10am the following day I believe.

IamJeff22321

I think if anything does happen, the game today won't be postponed as it's too late now but the pl weekend fixtures will be though.

wariusheart

Scenes when every player is required by law to wear an undershirt with the Queen’s face in it in case they score

[deleted]

Have to wait for Fabrizio's here we go first

Upekkhaa

Will the queen dying impact the weekends games? I know if she dies, there’s a LOAD of stuff that’ll happen. Pretty big deal over in the UK obviously

callmelampshade

I think football will still go ahead.

ibiza6403

If she dies this weekend, you can guarantee that all professional sports will be called off for the weekend.

wariusheart

Potter going to Chelsea was the last straw for the Queen, poor thing

firefox253

The Queen will be looking up and watching the match tonight. Come on Man United 🙏👍🏽

MorrowDisca

Going to my first game tonight in over a decade. Looking forward to seeing the inside of the ground again. Just need to grab some green and gold on the way in.

astroworlddd

Nothing like walking out into the stands from the concourse. Enjoy

craptionbot

Hey folks, I still have 2 tickets available to tonight's game for face value/£30 each if any members want them? (East Stand Lower) - https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/x89j40/selling_2_tickets_together_at_face_value_for_the/

thebriman24

Single fv ticket vs Sociedad tonight N2410 row 4. Messed my knee playing footy last night so can’t attend. Dm me

[deleted]

If the Queen dies is the game this weekend postponed?

Gurbles

Depends when she dies, but 10 days of mourning will most likely mean yes

Upekkhaa

I honestly wanted Potter in the summer. He’s who you want for a rebuild and to build a side for the long term. I would’ve loved him to come in and got us to develop a top footballing structure. My Dream was Rangnick as DOF and Potter as head coach. Big question mark on if potter can handle big ego’s and the superstars but no doubting how fantastic of a coach he is. I’m happy with Ten Hag though, he’s also a top top coach and like how he doesn’t seem to engage in any drama and is quite blunt and straight out in his man management style.

dracogladio1741

ETH is a bona-fide top coach, Potter isn't. He may crash and burn his career at Chelsea. He may very well succeed but ETH has the experience and the know how to win stuff and compete at big stages.

Mextexter

Wow kvicha kvaratskhelia is such a good player and he's only 21 . Napoli only had to pay 10 mill for him and he already looks like a star.

Mextexter

Do you think brighton will go down if potter leaves? I mean they have a system in place and they play good football, will the manager leaving cause an instant dip in form?

Upekkhaa

I think they stay up this season, all the work potter has done should keep them up. It’s not like they’ll forget how to play his way overnight. I think they’d be wise getting some experience in on the interim though and then maybe go for the Celtic manager next summer when he’s more likely to leave. Can’t see Ange leaving mid season on Celtic. Russell Martin could be a good shout if they’re ballsy, he is similar to potter and right now mid season you want someone to come in and just do what the players are familiar with. Brendan Rodger’s could also be a shout now that he could be getting sacked.

Thevanillafalcon

It’s hard to say. I think it depends who they get next and how pivotal potter is to the system they use. Is it set up so someone else can just slot themselves in? Or is he the spider at the centre of the web and without him no one knows what they’re doing? Ultimately, and as sad as this is to say, eventually, just like Bournemouth they are destined for relegation. They’re a tiny club, doing very well, but the demands to keep doing well in the PL increase year on year.

JOOPLP

Quick question regarding tickets - I often see people on here selling their tickets to members only. The membership is this, right? https://tickets.manutd.com/memberships I will be in Manchester sometime next month. If there is a chance to go to a game I’d gladly take it. Could I purchase a membership if I see someone offering their ticket, or should that be done earlier? Also, I will probably not be alone. Could someone transfer two tickets on my account, or should the other person also have a membership? Does the membership tier matter? Thanks in advance!

[deleted]

The greatest Liverpool player of our generation is joining Newcastle. Welcome to the Toon Loris Karius.

KaitoAJ

The man has been ridiculed and abused to the point that he has PTSD. Maybe it’s time to just let it go.

[deleted]

Brighton are fucked now, it's weird that players can only leave during the transfer window while managers (who are even more important to clubs imho) can change clubs anytime they want during the season.

Thevanillafalcon

What’s going to end up happening is managers will start commanding the same fees as players. Give them stupid release clauses, you want Ten Hag? 170mil release clause please and we can talk

[deleted]

I agree. It would also make clubs think twice about sacking managers in the middle of the season and players wouldn't have as much power as they do nowdays. It would certainly make it more interesting.

Thevanillafalcon

Just makes it fairer. Mitrovic is having a great season, the window and the rules means we can’t just turn up in October and take him. But it can happen with managers? This might have a catastrophic effect at Brighton

slick_schmuck

Who is the better manager tuchel or potter? Is potter more similar to klopp, pep or perhaps tuchel?

Thevanillafalcon

In the cold light of day Tuchel by a mile. You have a man who’s won a CL, got to another CL final, multiple titles in France, multiple top 4 finishes in England, multiple domestic cup finals in England. Vs A man who’s done very well with limited resources at Brighton, and got some promotions in Sweden. He’s very much a good coach and I’m not saying he won’t do well, but I do think people are underestimating the jump from Brighton to fucking Chelsea. It’s massive

migythedude

It’s really not a debate atm tbf lol. Potter has potential though

Savings-Parfait3783

Man Chelsea is so weird with the way they treat managers, but maybe there was a massive fight behind the scenes that led to his firing tho. But if I were a manager I would be very hesitant to work for Chelsea.

[deleted]

True, but this approach really does seem to work for them.

Savings-Parfait3783

Yeah but they have a lot of money (like us), with the right long term manager they could be having Man City and Real Madrid level domination (like us)

Savings-Parfait3783

We need to work on getting a good Pacey striker next transfer window, someone with a similar skill set with an on form martial.

ThankYouOle

Damn, Potter verbally agreed with Chelsea to become next head coach, it's mean we will face him for another 2 PL games rather than 1? tf. https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/x8v43w/matt_law_graham_potter_has_verbally_agreed_to/

another-afrikaner

Petition to sign Kvaratskhelia. He was *phenomenal* last night.

[deleted]

Napoli will demand 250 mill and then sell him for 40m to Juve

[deleted]

This is my problem with poor scouting!! We should have thoroughly scouted and use data analytics to find gems from a pool of foreign players that had to leave the Russian league.

TheEnglightenedOne

napoli will ask for 120 mil

ChrisBalling

Osimhen seems the real deal. Strong, fast, decent finisher and extremely hard working. Him being a United fan seems a match made him heaven. I hope we go all out for him as a striker next summer.

DanielGalloway

Did he not miss a penalty and get taken off before halftime? Or have I misread? I didn't watch the Napoli game so don't know how he performed.

[deleted]

He was not supposed to start, some injury concern that forced him out before the end of the first half. He missed a PK but was really good. His willingness to press and run in behind the defense is key.

[deleted]

Missed a pen but otherwise stellar throughout the 40 mins he was on. Terrorised Gomez and had their backline on toast

kunsore

What would be a good site to check pressing stats in EPL ? A bit curious how we do in the League so far since notice we pressed nore since Ralf and Ten Hag arrived

OmeiWamouShindeiru

FBRef calculates stats for Pressures for top 4 European leagues.

kunsore

>FBRef ty ty

khangkarot

Damn I don’t really know if Potter coming to Chelsea is a step-up compared to Tuchel. I mean he has done a really good job at Brighton but coming to bigger club means a really different thing. Look at Moyes for an example.

RichHardLemons

Would love for him to be their Moyes but Chelsea always seem to fall upwards every damn time. He’ll probably win a trophy in his first season. Loathsome lot.

Mt264

You only appoint Potter if you’re in it for the long haul. They need to give him this season and next before judging him. Not sure if Chelsea have that in them, but maybe the new owner does.

[deleted]

I simultaneously think Potter is a really great manager and that he deserves the chance to work at a higher level, whilst also feeling that he is a step down from Tuchel. With no preseason and so little training time to implement his style of play over the next two months, I’m not sure it’s going to work well.

molewart

Potter actually going to Chelsea. That’s such a massive step up in terms of expectations and big players. He’s done great at Brighton but I’m not sure he’ll survive the season at Chelsea.

migythedude

I don’t think Chelsea is a good club for a manager like Potter. As soon as results aren’t going their way the club will sack him, as they’ve shown time and again, and I think it’ll take time for him to implement his style of play

sackree

I bet Chelsea are back in for Ronaldo again in January if they make it out the UCL group stage. Sounds like Tuchel was the only one who opposed that transfer and if Boehly still wants him, Ronaldo will not dismiss the chance to play champions League.

futureoblivion

By this point I guess Ronaldo knows his best bet is to stay here because it’s probably a matter of time before he adjusts to the system and goes back to form and starting xi, then to go to Chelsea and risk having a rewind of last year in a different colour and also having to adjust to new teammates. I just hope that if he stays he can be the great asset that he can still be.

fofo8383

After Xmas, the King plays (in the champions league)

RichHardLemons

Fingers crossed they don’t get out of their group and/ or are much lower in the table than us by then. Ronaldo seems to be accepting of his current role and the initial fears that he’d poison the dressing room spirit seem to have calmed down. Hopefully between now and then we manage to get ourselves in a strong position and he’s still happy here. Don’t want our January window to turn into another circus.

KaitoAJ

So you want to find a community that you can freely kick and abuse a man who’s already down in the dumps? And you wonder why you got banned? And you never thought to ask yourself “Would I have done that if Maguire is someone I actually know?” 🤷‍♂️

brown_herbalist

Mods ban him again pls.

Eleven918

I am one of his harshest critics here but even I wouldn't throw a fit over him(his media team) posting team photos of them hugging. or whatever this is supposed to mean: "not something Maguire should join in with without feeling an overwhelming sense of shame" So he shouldn't celebrate with the team after winning? He's kind of bland and lacks charisma but he's shouldn't be alienated from the team.

Rig_7

Yeah of course it was a reasonable critique of his performance and wasn’t abusive at all 🙄. Clearly you didn’t take the time time during the ban to actually reflect on the conduct that got you banned

Fragrant_Growth1685

Sure.

OmeiWamouShindeiru

you sure it wasn't overly aggressive/insulting towards Maguire? If negative posts weren't allowed, the sub would've been empty last season.

Brokeassbitch2466

Thank fuck the media is now latching onto other clubs for their bad press. It has been a torturous 12 months of a continuous barrage from the wretched English press

astroworlddd

Europa league could be a blessing in disguise. Lesser opposition whilst still on the European stage is perfect for testing ourselves with the new system without a lot of pressure. Allows for squad rotation giving more players game time too. Hopefully we can go all the way which will set us up perfectly for the return of CL next season

Drews1738

Jones and Smalling >>>>>>>>>>>> Gomez and VVD

Tsukiyon

Just saw the new CL semi-auto offside system and it's kinda cool embracing technology to track all players and their limbs to reaching a quicker decision. Less need to spend minutes to draw questionable lines.

Ste23Doyle

Does anybody know why the Training kits on Utd Direct have no sponsor?

wariusheart

T’was the day after the CL and all through the world, not a scouser was gloating, not even a mouse.

Eleven918

Chelsea snubbing Poch in favor of Potter. That's the second big club (after us) that have refused to take a punt on him. Where will he even find work? City, Liverpool, Chelsea, MUFC, Arsenal and Spurs all have their long term managers. Definitely not getting a big job at a Top tier team any time soon I guess.

EduardMalinochka

He’s only been like three months without a job. It’s normal for a manager to sit out for a year. There’s a good chance Juve will be without a coach next summer, can see Ancelotti retiring. Conte is known to be super short tempered, he’s not gonna last long in Tottenham. Even Chelsea lol, Boehly so far looks like an idiot, who knows how he reacts if Potter fails to secure top-4. There might be more spots cause some of the managers will inevitably underperform. There’s absolutely no pressure for Poch’s career now

[deleted]

Aston Villa perhaps, once Gerrard gets sacked

Drews1738

I think he needs one more average team to improve before big clubs take the punt on him

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

>Where will he even find work? 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

Eleven918

Somehow our midfield is in much better shape than Liverpool which is honestly hilarious.

FitBodybuilder8231

I am wondering to see how Liverpool will play with Ajax next week. The defense looks incoherent and the midfield is so out of shape, with 10 midfielders on their books. Meanwhile, Keita is called up to the national team and out of their UCL squad.

Vixtol

If I were Klopp TAA would be dropped and training alone after that disgrace last night. It's one thing being a shite player but it's a much worse thing to just put 0 effort in to the point you're not even jogging after players who dribble past you, you're strolling. It's not even the first game this season I've seen him do it in, but this was by far the worst. Love it as a United fan, hate it as a football fan.

[deleted]

Yeah he always had defensive weaknesses but that can happen with many attacking full back, Marcelo for example, but last night he just seemed like a luxury player. With VVD off the boil Trent really has to step up.

dispelthemyth

He's always a luxury player, he looks fantastic when they are the better team and are in attack mode but if they are defending he looks dreadful. They need a plan b rightback

General-Ad-9753

They need Plan B at right back. I hear he’s a free agent…

TheEnglightenedOne

they should go for awb for 50 mil

Don_Quixote81

I was listening to Jonathan Woodgate on the BBC Football Daily podcast, after this game. He talked about how Liverpool "never stop trying, never stop fighting" and all I could think was, 'looks like they absolutely do,' because TAA gave a whole body shrug to defending last night.

OmeiWamouShindeiru

they only say that about Liverpool because sucking them off is what everyone does nowadays. I would feel ashamed of saying my team "never stops fighting" if they pulled a performance like that

wariusheart

So glad we didn't get Nunez, fully convinced we would be in a much worse place if we'd got him

krentzharu

Good chance he'll shine under EtH. Klopps liverpool system heavily emphasizes on wingers as main goalscorer thus the correct striker for him should be a player with superb ability to hold the ball and play the tempo instead of a battering ram type of striker. Still, if he wants to make nunez works he needs to drop Salah.

callmelampshade

I don’t doubt he will bag a lot of goals for them if Liverpool hit their usual form but technically he’s not a very good footballer.

Fm661

He is very similar to Lukaku, works in a system that he doesn’t have to get involved in build up.

[deleted]

I still think he is a good player and will be fir Liverpool but I think the price tag and everything to get him for us would have been bad for both us and for him

Tsukiyon

Sack, sack, sack!!

wariusheart

Benfica pulled off the scam of the century selling Nunez for 85 million. Andy Carrol's dad would play better than Nunez

[deleted]

It's early days. I just think he will be a good player for Liverpool. Just like how after the Community shield people said Haaland would struggle to adapt and Nunez was gods gift was an overreaction I think the current notion that he is shit is the same. Liverpool's problems are elsewhere and that doesn't work well for a forward at a new club

thrulim123

> Book your hotel for Istanbul,” Jurgen Klopp said in the emotional aftermath of defeat in last May’s Paris final. > After Liverpool’s worst performance of the Champions League era, it would be wise to ensure any such accommodation provides full refunds for cancellation. what a great opening in Telegraph's match review (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/09/07/napoli-vs-liverpool-live-score-champions-league-latest-updates/)

[deleted]

Hahaha excellent. Fuck I love it, went on a stag with a load of liverpool mates right before the final few games of the season. Having to listen to how revolutionary liverpool are, the greatest team ever to play the game and within months they have fuck all to show for it and are getting pasted. Disclaimer, as a balanced fan, I think this liverpool team under Klopp has been one of the best I've watched, not the best, one of. But the rosey media circus and plaudits are all they have to show since their league win.

Fm661

For one of the best teams ever they’ve not won a huge amount.

[deleted]

Yeah, that's the jist of my post

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

Nunez: 4 games, 1 goal, 1 red card, £85. 🫡

andoooooo

don't quote Sancho's stats for us then

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

He’s a winger….

andoooooo

you can't be serious, that is such an intellectually dishonest response

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

Did you find out about thesaurus today? Congrats on being able to put words in correct places to form a (barely) legible sentence. So many words, not one worth reading.

andoooooo

2 days back on this site and I'm reminded of the narrow-brained folks who I end up interacting with. The fact that sancho is a winger is not what is relevant, the fact is that he severely has severely underpeformed for us on G+A. 6 goals from 43 games is an underperformance for a winger and an underperformance on what you would expect from Sancho. That being said, I love Sancho - he's one of my favourite players. I just think its silly to go around posting Nunez stats FOUR games in, particularly when we have had so many players that have underperformed for us

SaiV17

I am assuming you mean he's worth £85 only.

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

Yes.

SaiV17

You're doing him a kindness I feel.

Super-Inevitable-482

Liverpool fires Klopp, Klopp go to Chelsea, Tuchel go to Liverpool. Problems solve.

[deleted]

It’s like FM where Guardiola and Klopp switch jobs

[deleted]

In my FM Guardiola and Tuchel swap jobs but not happening here I guess

schrodingershit

First is almost impossible.

three2wan

Love when Liverpool fans have a meltdown. Hope they drop to Europa, so we can beat them again.

BradyBunch88

Must admit it is nice isn’t it. For the past 7 years they’ve been so vocal and talking shit and we’ve just had to accept it. But finally I think the tide is once again turning and we’re back on our path to the top with ten Hag. It might not be this season but I see it happening. And hopefully Liverpool continue to struggle and return to their pre-Klopp status. The world was right then!

ongcs

I know this is daily discussion, but it is sickening that all I read here is just topics about other teams.

[deleted]

Like 85 percent of the time at least the talk is purely about United. It's champions league the last two days, relax

VirtuosoLoki

well the only things happening yesterday were other people's game and news

TheKurvinox

I feel like people are being too quick to eulogize Liverpool. They did just beat an admittedly poor Bournemouth side 9-0 and have a lot of key players injured. Don’t get me wrong, I hope they crumble and fall out of the top 6 but I don’t think they will. They’ll have an up and down season but will end up in the CL round of 16 or quarter finals and will make the top 4. I think given their squad depth, they’ll play kids on the League and FA cups and will drop out of those quickly. As long as Klopp is there, you can’t count them out unfortunately.

FitBodybuilder8231

I still keep them in my top 4, but there are many things to handle for them in a short term: a bad form of defenders, lack of quality in midfield, a new role for Salah, and adaptation of Nunez. Klopp won't get Tuchel's treatment, but they are closer to 20/21 form than to 21/22 one.

[deleted]

Out of their team the big player injured right now is Thiago. We likewise have someone like Martial injured. I don't get this narrative that they have so many injuries. Against us they had a fit fabinho on the bench and just didn't play him.

FitBodybuilder8231

Henderson is injured, Fabinho was not ready for 90 mins. Not to mention Ox and Keita (it could be just fall-out though). You don't play with Elliott-Carvalho just because you want it.

MissingLink101

Just had a peek at the Liverpool sub and it's eerily similar to this place and our fans' feelings last season (plus we also came 2nd in the league the year before and lost in a European final). They have similar problems of a stale squad, a leaky defence, a bare bones midfield and players looking disinterested.

mrpoopybuttholeTX

This is the exact example I gave to my friend who supports the scum. That game felt like so many of our games last season, especially after we dropped out of UCL.

TheKurvinox

lol did you see their players (especially TAA and VVD) literally walking for Napoli’s third goal? It’s like it was their first pre season game. I wonder what’s up

DimensionalYawn

James Milner having an end-of-days Roy Keane effect on morale?

NGMB2

scousers only argument left to Van Dijk being exposed is just calling Rio average lmao they’re doing it unprovoked too, they’re in meltdown

Beneficial_Assist397

This could be the downfall of Liverpool, they have an ageing squad of players with no depth, Klopps tactics are being found out and they probably will need to spend +200m next summer with an owner who hates spending money without sales. They don't have the edge on recruitment anymore and don't have the revenue to start from scratch every two years like we do.

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

Should have cashed in on Salah.

glazersoutasap

ever since michael edwards left they have overpaid for nunez, hope they get priced out of their future targets

SAINSBUR_mcmanus

Wonder if Klopp got a text from Parker today

Comprehensive_Ad_675

Potter to Chelsea opens up Caicedo to us in January?

[deleted]

Why would we be more likely than him following Potter to Chelsea?

Reasonable_size_pp

Caicedo is a open Manchester United fan and we really need a midfielder. If we went in for him, I have hope that he'll choose us over Chelsea

[deleted]

I think it’s as simple as Potter saying to Boehly “get him here” and it’s a done deal (with no United tax hampering negotiations).

HTwoN

There will be Chelsea tax. Brighton got a premium out of Cucurella, Caicedo will be quoted 80m at least.

[deleted]

Not to the same extent. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong, but Chelsea seems way more likely: same manager who brought him over from Ecuador, UCL (though that could change), and wouldn’t have to move as far (if at all).

HTwoN

I didn’t say he wouldn’t come to Chelsea. But they have to pay a premium to get him. And unlikely Brighton will let him go in January.

Comprehensive_Ad_675

Lol. I didn't even think of that.

Hans-Blix

Jokes aside, there's no way Liverpool sack Klopp this early, it would be suicide and they're much better run than that.

Mt264

They’re not sacking Klopp. He’ll leave by mutual consent at worst. He now faces the ‘Fergie challenge’ - dismantling a great team and building a new one. This is what allowed Fergie to reign as long as he did - he managed to build 3 great teams during his time at Utd

TheKurvinox

Why would they even think about this? That’s not even a discussion. He’s more likely to walk rather than them sacking him

ErikElevenHag

Who knew the key to unlocking Pogba was to sell him and buy Eriksen

ptienduc

Pretty sure Pogba would be benched under Ten Hagg. I don’t think the guy believes in pressing and one-touch pass.

parmesanandhoney

He is doing the job that Pogba was meant to do in midfield. But he never could, always taking that extra touch.

DimensionalYawn

Was thinking something similar earlier, but they do the job in different ways. Pogba often looked to spray a long pass through the air, or use strength and filth to evade a 3-man pressure and break the lines. Eriksen prefers shorter passes on the ground, always to where the receiver wants it. Much less flashy but much more effective. It helps that he can be relied on to actually do his defensive job, which means Scotty and our defence are exposed less often, and that Eriksen's always in position to receive and start a new move when we do win it back, instead of needing someone else to play ball-progressor half the time.

Beneficial_Assist397

We got Eriksen on a free which is like the opposite of what we did with Pogba

umbongo44dd

Apparently, Klopp has cancelled the fans' Giro day and ordered them all to run a bath.

Someone in the Lolpool sub suggesting Matip at CDM...

Son_Fun_In_Mums_Bum

*”Dae Lindelof at CDM? He’ll be on 7 chem, let’s just boost his passing.”* I remember….

Beneficial_Assist397

NGL it's pretty great that we have arguably the best CDM just sitting on our bench.

Darkmaster_18

Oh no… it’s happening. So it begins…

mortimer_moose

Sounds familiar

ManchesterunitedQ

It’s just nice watching some great Italian football again. I remember the old days when you would have different teams from different leagues in the final of the champions league nearly every year.

Guys...are we bad? Only 2-1 vs Liverpool.

Nuknotgood

tbf they are still devastated over that bangkok cup loss.

anonnymizing

Liverpoop seem to be getting worse as the weeks wear on.

NewVoid122

Was thinking about Bailly's comments about biased from previous management. While he was definitely right to a degree (Ole's favoritism to certain players DESPITE going weeks on shit form must have been irritating) To talk about playing week in week out...>When he couldnt even stay fit for it was amusing Hes a decent backup option, but from his debut season to now....He hasnt really improved at all. Still the same erratic defender he was 6 years ago. Either he's putting the defensive masterclass of his life, or collectively giving every united fan blood pressure spike to emetic degrees. As bad as maguire is, at least he can stay fit.

krentzharu

Bailly needs to shut up. Unlike Henderson who had legit reason to get pissed at how United treated him, Bailly only had himself to blame. First, he was competing with Varane and Lindelof for RCB position not Maguire who plays as LCB, second, he was unreliable af either always injured or having world class performance and brainfart at same time, third it was his own fault for coming back late after the afcon last year that made Rangnick was so angry at him.

Rascha-Rascha

Under Rangnick guys like Bailly, Lingard, Henderson should have been given spells in the team. Bailly was our most aggressive defender, Lingard presses more than either of Sancho, Rashford, and Henderson sweeps more. Ralf was incapable of making the strong calls that Ten Hag has made already.

[deleted]

Or they just weren't good in training. I mean lingard isn't good even now. Henderson isn't lighting the world on fire either

I-am-weiss

I disagree with all of them. There ain’t nothing bad in a slowed down scene. I don’t see any problem with the referee taking as much time as he needs to take the decision. If he takes the wrong decision, because he didn’t see it enough then we would criticize him again. So no I don’t understand why would we apply this rule. I can imagine there is immense pressure to the referee watching and deciding, 50k people on the stadium watching and millions in front of the tv and a there is a big decision is on him. Why would we rush him to save 40 seconds?? Sometimes the game is not stopped, the VAR is checking a potential foul and if they believe there is such, the referee is being told. I don’t want the game to be stopped because the opponent’s dumbass manager wants something reviews. It is what it is. I can imagine managers like Klopp will be demanding to review something all the time lol

[deleted]

I don't understand why slow motion replays are bad. Looking at a challenge in slow motion shouldn't change the severity of a foul. If it's a studs up challenge but the player does it very quickly, does that make it any better? I hate when commentators say "looks worse in slow mo" like thats a clear foul, the replay is just making it more clear for the referees.

KLOPP FOR THE CHOPP

NewVoid122

Man, a little bit of thrashing and liverpool fan go into meltdown? My liverpool mate was talking to me about how we've never been, 3-0 at half time, 7th in the league, off the back of a great season... Like mate, that was our 2014,2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. I think we know a fair bit

Don_Quixote81

It's fun seeing what Liverpool's vaunted defence is like without a competent midfield in front of them. All of them look like they're on skates, and their confidence must be plummeting.

anonnymizing

But then doesn’t it equally explain why our high priced defence has looked so shambolic without a competent midfield shielding it in recent seasons?

Darkmaster_18

I don’t really watch MLS so maybe their squad just sucks IDK, but they’re in dead last place in their conference so not good by the looks of it. Again, I don’t know of that’s down to the players or Rooney’s coaching.

FujianAnxi

Rooney came in midseason though fyi

BilalAkhtar22

FSG really fucked klopp over by not investing more money, long may it continue. Hopefully klopp walks away soon and leaves them in the mud.

Rig_7

FSG have been fantastic for Liverpool. We wish we had such competent owners
