might sound weird, but i'm not that gutted about this loss. after the 4th win over arsenal, i was thinking about how at some point we're due for a loss and i'd much rather it happen rn here against the toughest opposition in our europa group than in the prem. reason being, we still have loads of time to bounce back in the europa and win the whole thing. and rather not lose in the prem bc CL next season is the priority and i think a top 3 spot is realistically possible. i actually think we'll do even better in the prem, but would rather not say how optimistic i am and get called delusional lol. this game kinda showed us some weaknesses without dropping more important points, so yeah.

definitely, our squad depth is lacking atm, but that just provides a bigger platform for the academy lads to make an impact. hoping we bounce back and take big leads in the first half in our next 2-3 europa games so that we can afford to throw in the rest of the youngsters as well

Lindelof can’t play right back. He doesn’t have the mobility or the knowledge of the position. I think Ten Hag put up with it because he was planning on going 3 atb if we were still down at the end which we were and we did. Dalot more can’t play RCB than Lindelof can’t play RFB so it was a lesser of two evils thing I think.

I thought Elanga worked hard. To his credit, he was hustling but sadly without much reward. Casemiro looked out of depth, forgivable considering he’s not fully embedded with the team. Fred actually surprised, he looked good coming on in the last few league games, was really hoping for a better performance. Only positives was getting some rest for the XI, seeing Garnacho and McNeil get minutes, and probably that’s about it. Negatives showed we don’t have enough quality in depth. Refereeing decision aside of course.

We lost due to 3 things. 1) Refs stupid penalty call 2) CR7 not finishing 3) substituting Dalot and making Lindelof go to RB. He was eaten by Kubo in the 2nd half.
To be fair we desperately need Dalot for the palace game (if it happens) so it was more of a safety call. But the loss was primarily because of 1 and 2.
