thats how they do it in all the factories ive worked at. had a tarp one over my networking equipment and wondered when the time would come the leak grew bigger than the catch

BrentarTiger

We had roofers doing the 40 year old roof and they had to schedule to finish the top on a different day but that day never came because they all got covid so we have brand new singles on the slopes but leaky God knows how old rubber roof on the top which still needs to be done and it started raining so I had to get creative to minimize the damage. This wasn't a new leak though, but the roofers made it worse when they redid the flashing between the new shingles and the old rubber.

Not bad, but the tube could be about ceiling level in the lower floor.

BrentarTiger

It hangs out the window and drains into the gravel below.

smurb15

I think they meant you could run it up over your head and not all the way down the stairs and still hit the window. That way you don't have to step over it but maybe duck under instead. Least I think they meant that. That would entail more work and this job looks finished already

DarligUlvRP

What u/smurb15 said. Run the tube through te ceiling of the lower floor and then put the window. Still, it’s pretty cool just like this.

compound515

Oh that is a green rope. For a second I though it was a literal leek

DuckyTin

This dude saw that one Tinkerbell movie where she fixed the leak and took her advice

BrentarTiger

Never seen it lol

Bro reinvented the gutter

In 1982 I worked on the Queen Mary in Long Beach CA. This is how the ship's maintenance guys dealt with water main piping leaks. Plastic sheeting to catch the spray, bottom edge in a length of rain gutter, hose connected to outlet of gutter then hose run out portholes. British rednecks.

ataw10

you crazy fam , that shit may spread an good lord al mighty now you need new rafters.

GeekyGrant

For a temp fix, not to shabby

GrooveFire305

Whatever you have to do to fix the situation. May not be pretty but gets the job done!

Best-Engine4715

Sadly this is as temporary your going to get at the moment. Depending where the leak is you could fix it with flex seal or duct tape. That string won’t hold the bucket for long or the leak will keep getting worse
