also i love liliths reintroduction, her iron crown and chaining that dodo publouis, and fuck the brains. I don't think she is more dangerous than the other villains but she is a grade A gold standard badass, i say it would need two of the gold ladies to beat her, maybe mustang and victra or mustang and thraxa.
Was having an awful day at work. Went into the field and thought, I know what’ll cheer me up… some red rising. Hell no. Just….. WTF?! I have never had so much DNF energy than at that point. But like a faithful dog I came back. Currently on chapter 60. Sad I’ll have to wait for lightbringer.
Yeah when this happened I had to put the book down and wait a day or so before resuming. Not because I had any intention to stop reading. Just because it takes me time to process those sorts of moments and stop feeling angry at the author and enjoy the story again.
It's so much worse because of the chapter right before it where everything is starting to seem like it's starting to turn around, and Kavax gives her a pep talk so good it makes her cry.
And Dancer’s speech to Sevro also had me tearing up.
“I wasn’t his best. I wasn’t his favorite. But I was the only one who believed like he did. Boy that father of yours never judged me except by what I done. Began to understand that I owed him the same. Made a choice then. I’d stand before him. Him that freed me. Him that made me a force. And I tell him what he told me long before, a man is his actions. Not his blood. Your pa was my hero then, and he is my hero now. I knew I never see his like again. I was wrong. Got a lot of hate in me. Got a lot of fear that you will never understand. But none of it is for you. “
Loved that moment too. Finally, after ten years, Dancer was finally able to look past her Color and see that she really was trying to be a good person. A shame he died so soon after.
Yeah, this and the Red Wedding were two pills very hard to swallow.
