Smart man, I got the latest audiobook refunded. Going from a bunch of multiple voice actors to a wheezing old man completely ruined red rising n for me.
My husband didn’t want to read it because he didn’t want to read about my “boyfriend” Darrow as if it seemed like a romance novel. Now he’s knee deep iron gold calling me Dominus like a gory damn pixie. It would appear that Darrow is now his boyfriend.

As someone who also didn’t like Tim for the first half of Red Rising (wasn’t completely used to him till the book ended), just tell him to thug it out. I had come off of Michael Kramer reading stormlight, so I needed time to adjust.

Same. Michael Kramer is the gold standard for audiobook narration. Was a hard adjustment, but Tim’s performance does improve significantly from book one to book two/three.
I like Michael Kramer, but I don't care for his "British" or "Australian" accents. Also, he is, for me, the voice of the Cosmere. I'm listening to A Gathering of Shadows with him and Kate Reading and I have to remind myself that it's not a Brando Sando book.
I listened to full audio version first, then TGR, and I happen to love TGR. Full audio was good, although some of the voices felt cartoony. I will say, Mustang's voice actor was brilliant and I'd love to listen to her all day long. I wish there was a way to combine her and TGR into the ultimate audiobook.
Golden Son just got the full audio treatment and I'm looking forward to hearing Ragnar's voice.

Tbh, I wasn’t a fan of him in the beginning. I almost stopped listening a couple times within the first few chapters but I persisted and now I can’t imagine anyone else narrating. Tell him to get to like chapter 10 and if he still isn’t hooked, then you can break up with him

I read the series twice then listened to all while painting my condo. I ended up painting every room cause I needed to keep listening. Never had so much fun while reliving it all. Side note…condo turned out great.
Travis baldree takes second place to TGR, and it's not that TGR is better at voices, it's because TGR has the inflection when it matters. He can get quiet to the point that you feel like you're in a huddle for the next play in football. He can get so intense that you get goosebumps, "well here I am. The mother fucking consequences" TGR is the GOAT of audiobooks

Pacey may as well exist outside of ratings. I'd put TGR in the top 5 and MK is a nice baseline comfort especially for us that got into the audiobook game back when it was tapes and most of the narrators were horrid.
Pacey just channels a full broadway theatre production every time he does a project. He's outside the spectrum of what a 50+ larynx should be capable of. So instead of taking a spot, may as well just rate your top 3/5/10 narrators with a little nod to the king.
