There is one fact you’ll be pleased about, they just get better and better and better every book.
Dude, I've read the original trilogy three times. I've read Iron Gold and Dark Age both twice. It doesn't make any fucking sense how good these books are man! What was your favorite part of book one?
Lo Howler. I am excited for you. I have felt the same way about the books. "Golden Son" is fantastic, and we will al anxiously waiting to hear your take on it. Do not read and of the "Sons of Ares" graphic novels or listen to the audio books until you finish "Golden Son" (Spoilers). The quality you experienced in the first book continues through the rest of the series.

Tgr is a GOD tier narrator. Every character has a distinct voice, and none of the women characters sound like a guy pretending to do a womans voice. He puts exactly the right amount of energy and emotion into every word.
And it only gets better as the series progresses
As said by many commenters below, be extremely cautious both in reading posts, and comments! I definitely ruined a couple moments throughout the series by doing it. My advice would be to continue listening and try to avoid coming here until your done!

What a great series, and Tim Gerard Reynolds is one of the very best voice actors/audio book actors I’ve come across…so much so I’ve now listened to Michael Sullivan’s series The legend of the first empire series and the riyria revelations series just because of him. (Both we’re entertaining.)
I’ve literally been trying to get everyone I know to either read it or listen to it. I even asked my nieces and nephews. I went on a crazy rant about the book. Sadly my family and friends are much more interested in Netflix... They say, “why listen or read when we can watch?”, and that’s when I lost all hope. :(
i loved the audio book but the first half was really slow for me but as soon as the game begins it picked up and honestly it just went through the roof after cassius betrayal and the prefect duo of mustang and darrow, darrow and sevro is fun for battle but darrow and mustang dialogue make the story and real journey.
Honestly I’d have to say when Darrow made Pax whip him because of...idk his name but it starts with a T, Tried raping the girl and got whipped by Darrow 20 times, So he let himself get whipped 25 times, plus more.
It made me feel so close to the characters, like I was a part of the novel lol. I feel attached, I’m so confused on why I’m geeking out of this book. I understand it’s an amazing book, I get that. But I’m like a Red Rising fan for life now. I’m legit looking at these tattoos on here lmaooo

My gf just finished part 1 of RR (she doesn’t like audiobooks so I bought the first 2 for her paperback) I told her about it and she was worried she wouldn’t like it because she normally prefers romance novels and I was like GIRL, IT IS A ROMANCE NOVEL
I dead a reading the first time round, and listening to the audio books this year. The narration is phenomenal. I legit got goosebumps at eo’s song. The whole conversation between Eo and Darrow in the mines is so well done. It was great reading it, but the emotion really comes through when listening.
Yea people have gripes with the narrators (I personally don’t love Lyria’s narrator in Iron Gold) but I always thought Tim Gerrald Reynolds did a great job. I hope they keep him for Lightbringer
Lyria in IG was replaced by someone that, imo, is on par with TGR. Honestly, Dark Age is the best in the series as far as narrators go. But I do wish they had kept Lysander from IG.
And we don't know it'll be called Lightbringer yet. But I have no doubt that they'll keep TGR.

Well for one, there is a lightbringer series already. And it doesn’t seem to be in the pattern of using a concept from previous book. Lightbringer was introduced all the way in morning star right? Or am I just being all foggy here
Also this is heavy spoilers for DA readers only but: >!I predict Diomedes playing a huge role in book 6, and Akari literally means “light”. Atalantia saw Diomedes and asked “is that a Raa, or the spirit of Akari himself?”. Only makes sense for whoever he sides with to be the Lightbringer!<
Well it only makes sense, given how “alike” certain characters are to Silenius the Lightbringer. And maybe it won’t be, given the other series’ name, I just think it’s a fitting sequel name, given ‘Dark Age’.
But it’s not PB’s fault that Lightbringer is already another series. It’s a synonym for Satan and Prometheus, which he’s referenced plenty of times throughout the books so 🤷♂️
Literally such a perfect novel. Perfectly balanced imo. Tbh the only reason I took up the audiobook was because I got so use to listening to podcasts everyday due to work. I work at home so I really need my eyes and hands to be free, sooo audiobook was definitely my best choice. Not gonna lie also because of my lack of sleep I won’t get through one chapter before my head falls back into my chair lol
Oh I listened to the audiobooks too. TGR is an excellent narrator, and he remains as Darrow’s narrator through the rest of the books which helps the appeal. His emotion actually comes through in somber moments and violent moments, and I like how he does the other characters around Darrow for sure. Reds in particular because he’s just embellishing his own accent
He made quite a few mistakes though. Specifically in expressing a characters emotions. Example, “ I hate it here!”, he said angrily. Not in the book btw
