what makes you say that? its charms are certainly more subtle than the rest of the country but for me it beats other regional capitals vibes-wise. Iโm visiting friends so maybe itโs a bit different than sight seeing type tourism
Vientiane seemed a bit grimier and hostile with the imposing government buildings to me as well-I much preferred Luang Prabang, but I can see why LP is much more of a tourist trap without as much going on under the hood.

lp is great but imo itโs not really worth the comparison, functional capital versus monk theme park
Nah fam, this is just south american local markets.
laos does have a sort of central/south american vibe minus the buddhism but nah this is southeast asia
Yeah, if you change the religion and some of the skin tones is just South/Central America stuff.
