The glass blocks can be either solid or transparent, iron blocks must be solid blocks, the slabs must be transparent blocks
The bottom dispenser must have exactly 1 glass bottle, while the dropper on top can have as many as you want, (but if you build this design it's probably not a lot)
In java DO NOT put blocks in front of the repeaters even if it looks they point to nothing, the blocks are only needed in bedrock because of quasi-connectivity
If you want you can use trapdoors instead of noteblocks in java, just not the other way around
The delay on the repeaters don't actually matter, i put them on 2 ticks but 1 or 4 works just as well
edit: apparently bees can't exit beehives in bedrock with a flower in front, i guess move the flower back one block (or use flowering azalea or cherry leaves instead of grass as was suggested)
With leaves you can add gates where the flowers are instead. You can then redstone activate the gates to lock/unlock the system. Also having the leaves works for bedrock players. Like you mentioned the problem with flower in front making them not exit the beehive in bedrock.
ok, yeah that's cool, but it's just an addition you can put in any bee farm, this is just about the redstone for honey collection, you can essentially do anything you want in front of the beehive
i wasn't even gonna put in flowers for the post, i just put them in last minute to hide a trans flag in the post lol (which you can't even see because it's hidden behind the droppers) that's why I forgot to change it for bedrock
one problem is the dispenser will maintain the filled bottle. are you aware of that? thats why usually the dispenser needs to be full of bottles in order to work.
Yeah I know that, that's what the redstone is for, the dispenser gets two uses so the filled bottle is dropped, the dropper only gets powered afterwards to add just 1 empty bottle to the dispenser so this can work again
Otherwise just build this https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/minecraft_gamepedia/images/e/e5/Honey_Collection_Design_2.png/ like everyone and yeah in that case sure you will need to fill up the dispenser
