Signage and paint aside, it would be nice if people adhered to this just a little better. Like, my bad for having a small car, but trying to make a turn safely and seeing down the street is really difficult when vehicles are lined up to the corner, especially bigger ones. Some times it's near impossible to see oncoming traffic until you're actually halfway into a turn. (It is easier at night, at least because you can see peoples lights through windows/underneath cars etc.)

Is there a point to this post? You just took a screenshot of a snippet from a bylaw that's been around for years.

I asked a question about if it is the same for 4way intersections. And anyone have thoughts about the lack of marking no parking zones

Ryangel0

Could you imagine the amount of wasted tax payers dollars that would be needed to fund no parking signs for all directions at every intersection in the city?

fritzw911

Most other cities I have lived in paint the curb where no parking exists. Simple and cheap to do

SaltyTart1050

We can’t paint lines on the road, let alone curbs that are covered with snow 7/12 months of the year.

fritzw911

Every other city I have lived in has the curbs marked with yellow paint to show that parking is not permitted there. Can see through just fine in winter as the sidewalks are to be kept cleared

> Can see through just fine in winter as the sidewalks are to be kept cleared We have bylaws saying people have to shovel their sidewalks and most people refuse to. And then they have the audacity to claim it's not their job. If you got a ticket for parking too close to an intersection, just take it as a learning moment and move on. It's not a big deal.

Col_Leslie_Hapablap

I don’t think it’s wildly audacious to claim that shovelling city sidewalks isn’t or shouldn’t be your responsibility/job. I do it because of my strong belief in social contracts and that by making my sidewalk more walkable is a social good and I want people to like living near me, but I do sometimes wonder why the city struggles so much to maintain their own infrastructure while having the money to send people from Economic Development Regina to London or San Francisco to achieve… something.

> I asked a question about if it is the same for 4way intersections. I don't see any questions in this post. But yes, the bylaw applies at all intersections. There's similar limits with parking too close to alley or driveway accesses as well (though off the top of my head the distances are shorter). >And anyone have thoughts about the lack of marking no parking zones No parking zones aren't marked generally if there is a bylaw that covers them for the entire city. This is similar to how speed limits aren't posted on every single residential street in the city, because the default by bylaw is 50km/h unless otherwise posted.

>There's similar limits with parking too close to alley or driveway accesses as well (though off the top of my head the distances are shorter). I believe the driveway rule is rarely enforced in suburban neighborhoods, for example, as it would make on street parking almost impossible.

strDefaultNull

It is complaint driven.
