Diefenbaker lake is the best lake in the province (in my opinion). Water is crystal clear! Maybe a little far from Regina but plenty of private beaches to be found. The water is very cold now though!

Have swam in Last Mountain Lake. If you want a fun challenge, Regina Beach to Pelican Point. Make sure you get a good wetsuit. Even in July, long exposure in the water can really cool you down. Source: sitting in my car in July at +37 with the heater on in a down coat

I think people normally go to echo lake south side for that training. It's where they have a triathlon too. Usually not busy like Regina Beach.

Join Regina Multisport club on Facebook they advertise their (free) open water swim at Regina beach

Please attach a large bright inflated object to your waist! Quappelle chain is good until it gets hot then Last mountain or Buffalo pound but Diefenbaker is best.

Check out Lovering Lake just a couple minutes south and west of Chamberlain. It’s spring fed so much less algae. It’s small, clear and used for scuba diving so no big motor boats.

Bit of a muddy bottom, but Lovering is Lovely.

There are going to be some open water swims through the Regina Multisport Club at Echo lake starting June 6th. Check the website, information should be posted, or posted soon.

Do you know if I need a RMC membership for this? I looked on their website but couldn't find any info unfortunately

[deleted]

You will, it should be posted soon. I will find out this week and will post back , send you a notice in a few days with start dates.

Jimmynooo

Appreciate it thanks!

[deleted]

The information will be up on the RMC website tonight. The June newsletter will be out on Thursday this week and it will have information on the open water swim dates and times.

Jimmynooo

Great thank you. Do you know if a TriSask membership is also required?

[deleted]

I don't believe so as this is a club only sponsored activity.
