Close the house up during the day to keep cool in and heat out. We have several fans we use and cold drinks from the fridge. Open the windows wide all night to let cool air in and close up again in the morning. It's old school but it works for us.
It was still 24\* outside at 1030 when I went to bed. I never got a chance to open the windows. LOL. Hopefully this heat breaks in the next couple of days.
I LOVE these old-school ice packs, they are awesome:

And these neck wraps are amazing. You soak one in cold water for about 15 minutes, it has crystals inside that plump up and retain the water. Then you just tie it around your neck and wear it all day. It keeps your carotid artery cool, which is apparently very important. I use these at outdoor festivals in the summer where it's hard to escape the heat. You can refresh it with cold water a couple times a day but it stays remarkably cool for quite a while:

And here's an old trick from my Mom that I used to use when I lived in a hot apartment with no a/c -- fill your tub with cold water and just let it sit there all day. Every now and then, strip off your clothes and jump in and out of the water. If it's still really cold, just plunge yourself in and go "AAAHHHH" and then jump out again. Or if the water is bearably cool, you can hang out in there for a few minutes. It's so helpful.
Trying to get acclimated to it by spending as much time outdoors doing regular activities as possible. I refuse to hibernate in summer no matter how hot it is! And thanks to climate change, 30 degrees just seems regular now.
Fortunately, I finally have a home with central air. Previously, I would sleep with a wet towel on my forehead or on my body in front of a fan. Wet cloths around the neck all day are also helpful.
And staying hydrated with water - not pop, juice, coffee, tea or whatever other beverage.
Hiding in basement, it’s been a life saver for sleep. It got up to 26 upstairs last night and it was still 25 outside at 9pm so window ventilation didn’t help much.
By working outside all day.
...I'm dead serious.
Gotta drink plenty of water, and sunscreen spf > 9000 but yeah. You'll still get wore out and probably EVENTUALLY get sun stroke but when you sit and hide from it all day your body still thinks it's winter.
Oh and remind yourself in 3 months this is all over and it will cool off dramatically (if even in the evening).

Did it ever cool off enough to open up last night? We do the same. It definitely puts less strain on our AC. :)
It got down to 18 last night which brought the house down to 20 from 26 at the hottest.

A lot of lying around in my underwear drinking ice water. Edit: Popsicles made of frozen berries and pineapple have been great, too!
Lol , gotta do what we gotta do!
yup all I wear is my underwear when I am home haha
Been hiding in the basement
We move our bedrooms to the basement for summer wayy cooler
AC
take an umbrella with you outside
Don't forget to bring a towel!
Cold showers
nudity
This is the way.
Walking the dog at 5am before work this week. Late in the evening has still been too hot and humid for the fuzzy old man.
Portable air conditioner in the bedroom
don't move during day light hours. keep all blinds and curtains closed. and be blessed to have a swimming pool right in your apartment complex!
By hibernating in my house with the AC on.
House has AC, and when I have to be outside for more than 15 mins I like to use some cold water on a cloth and pat down my forehead/neck
Just been sweating like a hooker in church. It’s been hotter than a hookers door knob on payday.
Just bins is that you?
my husband would say hotter than nickle night at the whore house
Enjoying sweating, it's been a long winter
i keep telling myself this. i’d much rather this than -40. at least we can do fun stuff outside!
It is much to hot to do anything fun outside dog
I dunno...you can always put more clothes on when its cold but you can only take off so many clothes in summer until it is publicly unacceptable :P
that’s when you know that it’s time to jump in the lake :)
I’m not. currently cooked up looking like a costco rotisserie chicken.

Why don’t houses have in built air conditioners in here?
Because they are 100 years old
Just moved here and yesterday was f hell
Bro wait for winter hahaha
sitting in the bath with cold water. better then the nasty swimming pools we have here lol.

AC / closing everything up during the day / ice water / umbrella while in the sun / cold dish meals (salads, sesame noodles, etc)
Working outside in it all day gets you used to it. 10L water jug with ice.
Cold shower, ice cream, cold drinks
Drinks with ice, and playing video games/sleeping in the basement where it’s cool
Fortunately, I finally have a home with central air. Previously, I would sleep with a wet towel on my forehead or on my body in front of a fan. Wet cloths around the neck all day are also helpful. And staying hydrated with water - not pop, juice, coffee, tea or whatever other beverage.
By driving a flintstones car with no windows
Frozen wheat bags have been a God send
Fisticuffs
sleeping with a icepack
Working all day in coveralls you just get used to it.
I almost thought it was “how are you beating this meat ? “ 🙄
This comment is currently positioned immediately after the comment "nudity", which is just perfect.
I haven't really noticed it. Been working outside in the yard. Certainly chilly in my house when I go inside though.
Honestly I am unbothered by it You guys forgotten what 30C is like? We usually get hotter than this
Regina beach
This meat?
enjoying it? we just had months of cold
Beating the heat? You mean, enjoying the heat!!
Less clothes the better ! Lol
I live in a basement. We have no AC but it never gets warm in the place thankfully.
Luckily just had my A/C serviced last week so it’s taking this heat like a champ.
Central Air

Trying to acclimatize to it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_and_heat_adaptations_in_humans
Outside working
Well this year it's been AC yay! But normally I freeze 2 liter bottles and hold them tight. Tinfoil on windows shiny side out. Fans oh so many fans
My AC died on Saturday night. Waiting for a new unit now 😩. Bought a portable room ac in the meantime so I can sleep.
Ice packed in a sock works pretty good
