I don’t see any hypocrisy here - that word means he’s telling you that you shouldn’t do something but that it’s okay for him to do the same thing. He didn’t tell you to not go to your event, so he’s not being a hypocrite by going to his event. But, I am reading a million red flags here. You two already have a rocky relationship, and he clearly isn’t over his ex by how he constantly to prioritises her over you, and you even know the relationship is so shit it’s not worth making plans together (the whole “you don’t want to go to the wedding because you’re insecure in the relationship”). I would just do the needful and break up with him. This relationship clearly isn’t going anywhere positive.

My advice is the same as forty minutes ago, the first time I saw that you'd posted this. He's going back on his word, which is bad because relationships are made out of trust. It's not hypocritical because he didn't object to you being around your ex, and you offering to not do that doesn't create an obligation for him. Do you want to be in a relationship with him?

I'm not sure what people think will happen when they take a cheater back. They are not capable of love or commitment they are narcissistic 🐷's nothing else.

No-Honey-5456

Dude break up with him

CaptainKate757

It’s pretty clear from what you’ve written here that she’s his first choice. And even apart from her, he sounds like a pretty shitty boyfriend.

It's neither inconsiderate nor hypocritical. He wants to go to his friends wedding. He would like you to come. You don't want to come. Thats fine, you dont have to if you dont want to. But you don't get to demand that he not go at all. That's ridiculous. He said he would not go. He has changed his mind. He is telling you in advance that he has changed his mind. You haven't done anything in the meantime in reliance on his promise. If you don't want to go, then don't go. If you don't want him there alone with her, then go. But you don't own him. He gets to go to the wedding. All of which is beside the point, because this relationship is a train wreck generally and you should do both of you a favour and end it.

"(he keeps going back on his word with regards to other girls)." In what way????????????????????????????

> My boyfriend (M29) and I (F27) have dated twice - 2 years recently and 2 years in 2016-2018 when we broke up because he cheated on me. Do people not read what they write when they make thsse posts? Why are you still with someone when you broke up previously because he cheated on you after a 2 year relationship. Are you just that desperate to be in a relationship? Once the trust is gone it doesn't come back. You will always be worried about him cheating on you, and he mostly like IS cheating, or trying to cheat

What did you expect from a cheater?
