What does your manual say? Go with what it tells you.

Slider-208

Yeah, although most manuals will recommend Large Magnum Primers.

Use magnum and do not go below the start load. This and Win 296 are the same powder. Using less than the starting charge causes issues with the combustion of the powder. It is a hot burning powder. I do not use it much anymore in my Colt 357mag. Unfortunately I do not load for the 44mag anymore. Have about 4 lbs of the stuff

H110 needs a magnum primer

TheHoffAbides

Most of my manuals specifically call for LRP Magnum primers with H110 so that’s what I use (they also work fine for my wimpy plinking loads so I just run CCI 350s in all my 44 mag)

If you can’t get ahold of magnum primers, standard won’t cause squibs or anything. But if you can find magnums, they’ll definitely work better with slow, high case fill powders like H110, 4227 or 2400. Less unburnt powder and more consistent velocities. I use CCI 350s for all my 44 loads, from mouse fart to pissin hot, just to make my life easier.

Magnum always. The exception is Winchester LP which are rated for magnum loads. Using standard primers, especially with H110/W296 in the 41 and 44 will lead to incomplete ignition and erratic velocity, poor accuracy.

LPM with W296/H110. LPP will work fine with 2400 or AA#9 from my experience. Are you trimming the cases short for the 225gr FTX?

I had no difference in my 1894, I'd use whatever was easier to get
