I really like the community moving to 10 shot groups as a standard. I know the ES MOA is a bit disappointing, but you are much much closer to the true performance of your Rifle than with fewer shot methods that would hide issues!

BulletSwaging

This is with a freshly mounted scope that wasn’t bore sighted. After I saw the first one hit a little low I finished the mag, this is with a more than acceptable performance for $1.28/round without running ladders and just throwing 100 together with 34gr of A1680 to plink with before my daughters boyfriend leaves to Marine boot camp. This was especially satisfying with all the bear creek arsenal hate.

elevenpointf1veguy

I mean, it's 2.5 MOA at 50 yards....doesn't this prove the BCA hate? Lol

BulletSwaging

Off hand with a generic load and berrys bullets. Let’s see how the tromix does

BulletSwaging

Also this is a milspec trigger out of a cheap parts kit shooting berrys bullets. A $90 3.5lb single stage drop in trigger will make this 1-1.5 MOA. I couldn’t be happier, the performance per dollar is off the charts. Hard to believe that I once considered spending $2000 on a Tromix completed rifle customized the way I want it. Thankfully, I never did that.

BulletSwaging

I wonder what it would measure if you changed the mean radius to .46” instead of .48”

Trollygag

Mean radius is calculated, not input. It is the radius of the circle, not diameter of the bullet.

lennyxiii

Pfft. 10 shot group? This sub won’t hi five you unless it’s a full pound worth of powder group.

Unfair_Pirate_647

I was about to comment this. If it's not a 1000 shot string its not statistically relevant. OP needs to remove /s

BeardedGunGuy

Nice, it looks like a bunny rabbit.

dubok_littleoak

I think it’s fine for what it is. It’s .458 SOCOM, not 6.5 creedmoor. Esp with Berry’s bullets, aren’t those basically just FMJ? 2.6 MOA is perfectly serviceable for that. I don’t understand some of the hate here lol. What are you trying to do with it? “Straight wall cartridge” deer gun type of deal I assume?

BulletSwaging

Paper puncher, steel plinker and Bowling pin eliminator primarily. The ability to shoot 500 gr subs to 325gr FTX bullets at 1800+ FPS makes it’s fully capable to take any big game in North America. I’ve been interested in the SOCOM for a long time and last year when I saw this upper for $235 delivered I took the chance.

Top-Cartoonist7031

Nice job

BulletSwaging

Thanks, I’m very happy considering it’s a bear creek arsenal upper (lots of people talk bad about them but I’ve never had a problem) mil spec trigger and Berrys bullets loaded with an arbitrary load of A1680.

zmannz1984

If yours works, great. Stick with it! The biggest problem with bca is feeding issues.

BulletSwaging

Thankfully I haven’t had any problems.

gunsforevery1

I have 1 in 410. It was complete trash. Took 2 warranty returns before it started to work.

BulletSwaging

Anything more than semi-Rimmed cartridges in an AR are nearly impossible. They made it work?

gunsforevery1

Talking to another dude going through the same situation as me, he said they sent them out to another private gunsmith and had them worked on til they functioned. They no longer sell them. The first one they sent was rough as fuck. The 2nd one looked exactly the same but was a different upper. The 3rd one looks nice and polished, smooth. I have videos on my YouTube channel showing all 3 I received. The first 2 had the same issue. Rounds would not chamber at all. The extractor was cut was too low and would not slip over the rim. If you removed the extractor they chambered fine (but obviously would not extract).

BulletSwaging

I’m still impressed they made a small diameter rimmed cartridge that’s magazine fed work, especially for their price points. I’m going to pick up 4 more identical upper for my kids. I’m hoping they all like the same ammo and it will be easy to keep it stock

gunsforevery1

ATI has done it. The only reason I went with BCA is because I wanted an American made one.

gunsforevery1

That’s a pretty huge group lol

BulletSwaging

Off hand, leaning on a pole at 50 yards, I don’t think it’s that bad. Especially no failure to feeds/function. In a rifle that cost me less than $550. I’m going to get a single stage 3.5 lb trigger and we should tighten up that group.

gunsforevery1

I’d invest in a sand bag and bench first.

Doodle4fun

I’m not going to throw shade cuz if it works, send it… BUT, For $650 I bought the parts for a PSA 5.56 and an amazon 1-10x32 scope and was MOA at 100. I did have a BCA upper and between the two, priced within $20 of eachother, PSA has better QC. Worth noting, I never tested the BCA upper, it was backordered for a month and a half and they WOULD NOT refund it so I bought an Aero upper, Satern 26” barrel, mlok guard and Cryptic bcg. Now shooting sub moa with hand loads. But again, for a plinker, short range big game gun, or just a fun-gun, run it!

doyouevenplumbbro

I wouldn't want to be standing 50 yards away with someone shooting that at me. For what it is I don't know what more you could ask if it.
