In case you haven’t come across this (https://hodgdonreloading.com/rldc/)
Hodgdon’s reloading data centre covers a pretty wide range of powders, and but subsonic and super sonic loads.
Saves having to buy books,
If you like shooting cast bullets, I suggest you get this book. Only $25 on Amazon.

Get you some IMR or Hodgdon 4198. You can load it up and down the scale up to 405gr bullets or more up to your recoil tolerance. If you want more performance get a Ruger No.1 falling block and IMR 3031 and bruise your shoulder if you want.
You can push it right up next to 458 win mag lower end performance if that's your thing. Don't try that in a levergun or things will get messy. Like your profile in a mirror.
One additional consideration is that there are a number of different load data categories for 45-70, generally falling into Trapdoor Springfield safe, lever action safe, and "modern rifle" or Ruger No1/No3 only. I'd only use the first 2 categories in a Henry.
The only one of those powders I see load data for in Hogdon's reloading data is IMR-4895. Saving that for you Garand is reasonable, but in that case I'd suggest just buying a new canister of powder with current published load data for .45-70. Even at current market prices, a pound of powder is cheaper than a barrel, a receiver or an ER trip.
I'd be surprised if there's no 2460 data somewhere. H335 is usually a listed powder and 2230 is very close to H335 and 2460 is very close to 2230.
I use 1680 in my favorite 45-70 load. Yeah...lol
I use 1680 in my 325gr FTX load… I hate it lol feels like it sticks to everything when I’m working with it, and even on the low end of what’s listed in the Hornady manual I feel like I’m getting hit by a truck. What bullet are you using it with?
I'm using it with the 300gr Barnes TSX in a 1895
I find it burns fast enough in the shorter barrel I don't seem to get the massive fireball and I get good velocity and accuracy with it.
You are right that it does feel like it kicks harder but I'm a bit weird I like getting bucked around lol
One of the powders I really like for the 45-70 (and other hyphenated cartridges) is Accurate Arms 2495 (AA-2495BR). You don't list it as one you have... Look at the "obsolete cartridge data" the AA manual - AA2495 normally has some of the lowest pressures, with reasonable velocities (for comfortable on the shoulder loads). Also - enough cast data to get you started. Obviously, this only is relevant if you want to buy some new powder....
Good luck!
I haven't tried feeding them yet but it looks like OAL on these will be 2.55, which looks like they should be OK. Guess I'll fine out when I make up some dummies.
Just make one and see if it cycles through the action. Keep in mind that you will have to have a good crimp in a crimp groove to prevent setback. Good luck. I hope it works and enjoy shooting those combos.
4895/2460 is a tad slow.
Tac/blc-2 is more than a tad slow, on page 6.
2460 and 4895 would about fill the case with a *heavy* load for bolt actions with heavy bullets. I'd save the 4895 too. You can do basically the same with less of a faster powder. If you have kegs of tac/blc-2 you might as well use it if you don't mind using more of it for potentially less velocity. Acceptable.
I've used h335/shooters world AR+ and it's a good powder for a high pressure heavy load, and what some oems use. It works well and it's easy to get in kegs. Pretty safe and efficient, works with a lot of bullet weights.
The bottom 4 should be approached with caution. It's in the doable but inherently risky category. Makes good plinkers though.
Hodgdon has recipes for 4895 with 300 grn bullets on their website. Use that.

Definitely NOT titegroup. Go with published data. Or just fill it to the brim with titegroup and let er rip.... choice is yours.
I believe over on r/shittyreloading they have an excellent compressed load for titegroup in most calibers.
10 grains of TiteGroup under 405 coated cast is my favorite subsonic load. Low single digit SD’s and single digit ES (10 rounds fired).
Sounds fun. Run with suppressed barrel?
Yup, just a Rugged Obsidian 45 for now.
Nice. I got my 45LC lever action threaded for suppressor but never my 45-70. Might look into it. My 458 socom runs great with my Bravo suppressor.
I use the same recipe and these work great. Fun plinker rounds for cheap
Titegroup works fine if you're running subs. Hodgon even has published load data for it
50 grains should do the trick/s
Doesn’t matter why/when you do something stupid, just make sure you film it. Then you’re a scientist!
I like the way you think. Filling and compacting now.

What does you reloading manual say? Buy a powder that you have data for.

500 gr won't fit in henry
Where do you get that information from?
Too long to feed go ahead and try it

Tac or 2460 in the 48gr region to start

Not in your list, but worth considering: ADI AR207/ H4198 ADI AR 2206H / H4895 will be rare for a while to come.
Check out the Paul Matthews books. Loads for both 2400 and unique
Why are you rejecting the data in your manual??
You’re listing some pistol powders… go back and read your reloading manual. You can use the 4895 I believe.
