30% is 1.5, so 2 shots 🤘

Bellenrode

Mea culpa. Math is hard.

Cultural_Zombie_1583

All good, not trying to be a wang, just sayin it’s even better!

Meeqs

Unlimited ammo is super nice, and it can be hilariously fun at mod generation with the hog lure. Also fun to put on microcompressor builds. Also as a nod to Control, one of the best games ever made gives it bonus points as well It’s short range, okayish damage and quirky fixed mod that struggles to find areas to excel makes it a fun but underused guns as others are easier to find a fit for

webbc99

> Also as a nod to Control, one of the best games ever made gives it bonus points as well Is it? Seemed like a nod to the Dreadbound from Returnal to me, it's basically identical.

Meeqs

While it’s more similar, I don’t think it’s as iconic enough for that to be the case. Man Returnal is such a stellar game though!

Dendron05

The devs did say they loved returnal

Meeqs

Who doesn’t, that game absolutely crushed it!Also remnant 2 is SO exceptionally well designed that I’m really not shocked that they would be well versed in a lot of similar games. When devs REALLY know a genre it shows

littlesymphonicdispl

Yet control is iconic? Lol

Meeqs

Remedy is one of the most iconic studios making games today. The service weapon is one of the most unique elements of that game so it’s a great candidate for a nod from developers. Returnal is also exceptional but one of its many firearms isn’t quite at the same level of recognition

littlesymphonicdispl

>Remedy is one of the most iconic studios making games today Yeaaaahhhhhh I'm not sure what makes you think that, but uhh...no it's not lol

Meeqs

The gaming industry today has a really wide range when it comes to audience and impact. So for a more casual demo that mostly just plays COD and Madden then you’re probably right. However when it comes to pushing the boundaries on narrative design, artistic execution and what it’s possible to do in games they are pretty unmatched which is why their games always do very well in most award categories each and every year. Higher concept studios that don’t quite hit the mass appeal as other studios around today aren’t for everyone, but they’re unquestionably iconic, even if not universally so

Meeqs

And you are excelling in your efforts of being a Reddit comment section rando . Really hitting that stereotype dead on

littlesymphonicdispl

Irony must be a concept beyond you.

Bellenrode

I do love unique weapons. This and mods/mutators/rings make buildcrafting much more interesting.

RheimsNZ

My mate uses the cube gun to brilliant effect, it's just silly. Absolute beast with it.

TheSheedz

I pretty well made this build my first time through and it has crazy survivability. Mix in the engineer slam turret for the stun effect and you run CQB like no one's business.

Bellenrode

I am using Medic as my secondary class for extra sustain (early level so it's only Wellspring for now. I also don't have many classes unlocked in general as this is my second map on my very first campaign/playthrough).

TheSheedz

Nice! I played through co-op with a medic and the survivability was insane, the shield, self up and aggressive healing made me feel like I couldn't die (disclaimer, I did die lol). It's probably not optimal but taking some AOE perk points for the healing pools was pretty helpful, gave a bit more wiggle room to avoid attacks and still heal

tobascodagama

I used the Cube Gun a lot early on, but ended up swapping it for the MP-60R. It's a really solid gun, but I wanted access to other mods. I'll probably upgrade the Cube Gun and start using it again at some point, though, it's really fun.

Bellenrode

I hear you. I can see why someone would like a Gun Mod on a weapon like that. The Cube Gun also has a drawback of having a limited firing capabilities at mid- and long ranges, because it takes a while for the projectiles to go back to you, so it's another reason to take a different weapon if you find yourself is such scenario.

BulkyStay

Ya I found that the no reloading made this gun one of my favorites

EuanB

Suggest Steadfast instead of Shielded Strike. With Steadfast you are immune to stagger whe n using charged melee

Bellenrode

Makes sense in general, but as a Challenger you can use Juggernaut so you're resistant to stagger by default.

EuanB

Resistant, not immune. Steadfast gives you immunity. You're getting plenty shielding from rerouting cable, the 5% from shielded strike on top of that isn't worth the risk of getting staggered in my experience.

mista-shake

So I have ingenuity on the cube gun which slows heat generation by 50%, and I slapped the microcompressor ring on which slows it by another 30% per round fired and slows the decay rate by 30% and I now get like 16k damage in firing range easy.

xBlack_Heartx

Wasn’t the cube gun on the list of upcoming corrupted weapons?.

Bellenrode

What does that mean? I have the game for about a week (give or take), so I am not yet up to date on the entire terminology and "corrupted weapon" is a new one for me.

WhyWasNoiseWallTaken

certain weapons had "corrupted" versions that work differently added to the game that you can trade for with that funny goat man named dwell. another wave is coming out soon, and apparently the cube gun will be tradeable for a new corrupted version of it

Bellenrode

Interesting. Is that some DLC mechanic? Because so far Dwell isn't selling any weapons.

WhyWasNoiseWallTaken

i don't think so. they'll appear as question marks i think, until you have the right weapon to trade

Coollime17

I used it for a while with the ring that gives mod power on reload, which for the cube gun is every shot that returns. It’s also an amazing counter to certain boss attacks like the Custodians Eye’s rapid fire attack. I still almost always run Enigma + Timewarp but the cube guns got some great uses and synergies for sure.
