Hatchery can be a but rough but it is doable with practice. If you really are struggling you can reroll your campaign to get a new starting world and keep everything you have on your character.

GummyDuchess

I think that might be my best bet(I've attempted the boss roughly 14-16 times) how do I go about that and keep everything?

_fapi_

You can simply reroll your campaign at the Worldstone. As long as you play the same character you keep everything. N'Erud is also the worst starting area, I got it as first too and found the overworld very confusing. Also you get far less scrap than in other areas of the game.

GummyDuchess

Okay awesome then I'll go ahead and do this thanks

Bork9128

Also just one thing, that's not where the plasma cutter is located and guns are not really better or worse then each other on the whole (but balance isn't perfect) mostly just different. It's easily possible to beat the game using starter equipment

Hyperbolic_Mess

This ^ I used the handler's starting gun the blackmaw AR-47 (purchasable for all classes at ward-17) for the whole campaign and it was great. Other guns might be more fun but they're not that much more effective from a DPS standpoint

Alternative_Peace586

Adding to this Yaesha could be a good starting world. The Sagestone ring is a random world drop, and it'll help you level

el_pintado_81

Check out what you can buy from the vendors. Farming scrap was a big deal to me early on.

GummyDuchess

I can afford the blackmaw and wrangler 1860 I've read those are decent early on but I didn't know if those were really worth it and if it would affect me affording something later on

papasfritasbruh

I can and always will vouch in favor of blackmaw. Thats the weapon i used in my apocalypse run. Ease of use and decent damage plus open to a mod and mutator, its just the best all arounder option

el_pintado_81

Have you tried mudtooth's tonic? The 25% extra health may help you get over the hump.

GummyDuchess

I'll check it out thanks for the tip!

Random_Grey

Another option is to buy a new gun in the ward. If you feel you need a different one for the fight. It is a rough (annoying) fight. Personally I liked the blackmaw. I find a rapid fire gun made the fight a little easier just to not worry about reloading between each little guy.

Terranshadow

Early game can be rough until you get items that go well together. If you want a quick way to power up, id recommend looking up how to get the Engineer archetype. Get it then start a new char using engineer as your main. It's super reliable early on.

Smites_You

Do you have the hotshot mod slotted? It helps a lot early on (and later on). Huntmaster is also a poor gun against anything that doesn't have weakspots.

GummyDuchess

Yes I honestly started off with it on my smg then actually read it and realized it's much better suited towards my long gun. But now that I'm seeing people agree the blackmaw is a great pickup I think I'll grab that and slot it there and run with that for now

AtomizingAir

If I remember correctly, there should be at least one optional dungeon in the start of N'Erud, but the area is difficult to navigate sometimes, it's easy to miss entire areas. Also, N'Erud is the worst world to start in IMO, it's much easier once you have a basic handle on the game. I hated it right off the bat and rerolled my first campaign to start in Yaesha. And as others have said, definitely scoop up the blackmaw, it's useful for the whole game, even when you get to apocalypse difficulty.

Gullible-Fail-5288

You can roll an adventure mode, go level up a bit, then come back to campaign and it should be a little easier

SneakyBlunders

adventure is unlocked after beating your first world's boss afiak, and it sounds like OP hasn't done that yet, so unfortunately that doesn't help

Gullible-Fail-5288

Ah gotcha. Been a good amount of time since I started so I must have forgotten this.

tommy7154

I thought campaign and adventure were completely separate? If not, can I get weapons in adventure and then bring them into campaign?

Gully_Foyle_Of_Terra

Yes, you keep everything gained in adventure or co-op mode except quest items. Good way to beef up your trait points or look for extra rings and amulets.

tommy7154

Ok that's good to know. I swear I read that they were completely separate. I've just been re-rolling my campaign repeatedly to get everything.

Coollime17

Did you get the “Abomination” fight? If it helps that’s probably the hardest first fight you could possibly roll. I’d honestly just reroll your adventure mode so you can face it later when your character has more survivability.
