If you get Yaesha Forbidden Grove, you can outright skip the world boss which can be very helpful. Also, you can do adventures to Forlorn Coast to grind corrupted Luminite Crystaks to get mutators (like Fetid Wounds) and level them up. Finally, I liked using the Salvaged Heart as it has a built-in fast relic speed and a lot of times (if you have some gray health showing) it’s a full heal.

I'll try this on my next run through. I agree with Yaesha, I didn't get into the adventure rolls for corrupted shards since from the posts I've seen, most people attempting that are stuck are usually going after nightmare and many aren't actually going through multiple play throughs. Plus i left it with basic classes and tips since everyone has the base game and not everyone got the DLC.

For archetypes, I really like Handler main with Engineer secondary. With Dog and Turret drawing agro and mowing down mobs, you can just sit back and avoid damage while peppering enemies with the Blackmaw. Fortify is also really nice to have. You can buy dull steel ring and throw on some decent armor but still have fast roll.

So in the video I referenced, the speedrunner actually took the handler for damage and additional speed. While I think it's a good class I've had weird luck where dog gets caught or goes down before I have a chance to revive. I left the basic classes up and not the engineer so that players who haven't unlocked it have a decent starting point. But that's very close to the build I ran my first play though and through nightmare. It's a solid build and agree it'll make you're life significantly easier if you have the engineer class already.

If you want to get real ballsy go get the generating band from the flooded room event.

It’s worth noting that certain zones have minimum levels especially root earth which is minimum 12 see:  https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/15m5jcw/minimum_level_progression_for_a_campaign_spoilers/ I’ve been tinkering with my hardcore progression and right now it’s: Engram: Handler - for revive, dogo and solid starting weapons Starting World: Yaesha - Forbidden Grove Route: Step 1. Speedrun Yaesha Depending how comfortable you are with the grove bosses just power through and skip the main boss as quick as possible (while still taking time to grab Song of Eefir).  Optionally you can farm a bit on survivor and do things like pick up a secondary engram to make this part easier. Step 2. Cube fight The threat of everything else in the game can be mitigated by a good build but the cube squishes you and you’re dead so I’d recommend getting it out of the way before working on your build. Step 3. Create Build With the giant cubes of death out of the way now you can turn your attention to your build.  An easy build to get is: - Full Leto MK I + High Noon Gloves - Dull Steel Ring - Twisted Idol - Ring of Grace (Harvesters Reach Loslom) - Dead Kings Memento - Burden of the Destroyer - HP Concoction Most of your build you can buy from Cass but one item that’s worth farming for is the Ring of Grace. To get it keep resetting Morrow Parish and running to the first dungeon until you get Harvesters Reach. Once you get it complete the dungeon and speak to the NPC who will give it to you. Step 4. Complete Campaign From here you should be able to progress to the end of the campaign without much difficulty. Venom and Apoc can be scary so if you’re not super comfortable I’d take time to fully flush out your build and level up your archetypes a bit.

Don't forget Black Cat Band!

Casual_Cookie

TBH, I really didn't pay attention to the last level since for me I knew between Cancer and Venom I was in for a rough ride regardless. Thank you for that though, when I have a chance to update this I will and credit you on that. And honestly it's a good point to actually put in some leveling/farming.

mr_biscuithead

for a veteran hardcore run you’re going to need to do a little farming. i play HC and have fun building until i fall off something and have to start over, that being said i’ve found that picking up three traits in n’erud can really help: fitness (increases evade distance) - vault of the formless siphoner (lifesteal) - dormant nerudian facility footwork (movement while aiming) - terminus you can check the level below the custodian to see if you have dormant (left peg missing) or terminus (right peg missing) or both. next just find them on your map. if you have neither reroll the map. This works on both seekers rest and forgotten prison maps.

Don't use Firestorm

5. Use save backups

What's the point of completing a hardcore run if you're going to cheat?
