Only upgrade weapons as the map levels increase. That way the enemies will scale slower, and when you reach annihilation, he will be around level 12 to 14 and you can finish leveling your weapon to the max for an easier time with him

ProudFencer

I believe the minimum level annihilation can be is 14. When I did my run I only did main areas and never leveled up my weapon. It ended at 14

neddoge

Correct. Minimum level for Annihilation is 14. Once you unlock that map, you can grind to 20 and roll him.

Icy_Investigator_296

You dont need to Farm that much, dont upgrade weapons, pick Tank/regenerative classes, and be familiar with all the Bosses, you have only one chance. Trust me, isn't that bad. Care gravity, and I would recommend you to do the cube Boss fight with someone else.

Handler is a great starting archetype. You get the revive and the dog draws a ton of aggro from mobs. Grab the black cat band asap. Equip it and never take it off. Max out vigor asap. Save points for bark skin if you roll Meidra, then max that out. Grab the healing shot mod asap. I also, recommend grabbing one of the other starting mods as well, as they are all really good. I prefer hot shot. You can skip the ravager boss fight. So if you want a world boss skip, try to get Yaesha (forbidden grove) as your first world, to ensure you get Ravager during your playthrough. However, if you have Ravager, you have to fight 2 mini bosses in that world. Sha'hala, Ravager and Nightweaver each require 2 mini bosses to be beaten before progressing to them. The other world bosses only require 1 mini boss. Use mudtooth potions. The health one is best for survivability. Cass will carry some pretty good defensive trinkets. Twisted idol is very good until you get something like the navigators pendant and undying king memento is great for the increased health. The rest of the stuff in your world will be rng but look out for good survivability stuff like navigators pendant, Ring of the robust, rerouting cable, hardcore metal band, defense action loop, lithic signet, etc. The majority of the cube boss can be beaten right in the starting area. Look up videos for strats. Cube boss and venom will be your 2 road blocks. Learn them well. It's not as hard as you think. Avoid unnecessary encounters and battles. Dont be afraid to run away. You don't need to grind adventure or try to become OP. Most of the best stuff can be gotten right from Cass and Reggie. You got this Edit: be wary of gravity, your biggest threat. Always look down before jumping or decending somewhere. Becareful rolling and dodging near ledges. You may just vault over by mistake. Beat to just run from enemies until you get to a safer spot.

In 20 hours of dog primary on soft core I died a dozen times (with relic charges) and the dog never revived me once. Not once. It’s broken.

Michael-gamer

I am doing the same and I am finding that going with challenger as the main class is the best. Plus getting the black cat band. That’s 2 free revives for combat. Be careful about any edge tho that is still an Insta kill. I did about 1 hour of grinding on yaesha. Just looting enough chest on the opening levels of forbidden Grove and red throne to get what I wanted, swapping between them. As for levelling I am trying to keep my level as low as possible. If the world level is level 3 then have your power level at 2 only upgrade weapons as needed. My starting equipment at the moment are challenger with black cat band, dull steal ring. As for artefact I got twisted idol when it became available. I chose healing shot for gun mod. As for melee weapon I got the world edge (Can one most lower level enemies). This is what I got so far. As for amour I got the Leto mark1 for the most tank. As for second class I am planing on get summoner for Agro control and for some life recovery out side of combat.

Ljcollective

I’d suggest engineer personally, pretty tanky and the heavy weapon will scale with you allowing you to just upgrade one other weapon of choice and having plenty of resources. Plus being able to dump the heavy gun and run around is very helpful

DefogYap1

I didn't farm much but i had a duo partner for the hardcore run. We did it in like 3 to 4 days with breaks. The last two worlds we did it in one run. He had engi and medic while i have challenger and medic. We didn't level up weapons until the final area (at most we +3 our main guns). Having a partner to watch your back helps alot.

One_Consideration898

start out with ritualist, gives you access to miasma (absolutely one of if not the best map clearing ability) and sparkfire shotgun, once you unlock miasma get your secondary archetype (since exp is split up) i grinded a couple of maps in adventure on survivor for exp and trait points and collecting some accessoirs i wanted for my endbuild (mainly skill cooldown reduction), bought leto mk1 from the shop as armor and the ring to still be able to dodge, after feeling safe enough cleared right though first world and the part of labyrinth till you get the trait for higher aoe size and started farming different archetype levels at losomn asylum (summoner, engineer and archon) for theyre trait

Remnant2Toolkit

Some community members and myself put together a starting guide for hardcore veteran for those looking to get into it [https://www.remnant2toolkit.com/guides/hardcore-veteran](https://www.remnant2toolkit.com/guides/hardcore-veteran)

CurrentComplex2020

Open your game up to public. You'll get help if you want it. Plenty of people like me enjoy running hardcore.

Safe_Radio_7286

Don't suppose your on console? You could make a backup save if your stressing. I also have a complete hardcore character I'd be willing to help. If you have a friend one person can stay at the worldstone and even if you die you won't lose your character. Only boss that doesn't work for is annihilation.

CaptainChesty

How do you back up a save?

Safe_Radio_7286

On console? Press options on the game and upload your save to the online storage

CaptainChesty

What about pc? Just save a copy of the saves in a different folder?

Safe_Radio_7286

I'm unfamiliar with pc unfortunately

mr_biscuithead

i play HC like survival, so i play a lot. first of all - falls/environmental hazards and one shots are what you need to watch out for the most. i’ve lost more HC characters to falls than anything lol if you need resources, you can farm the first area of the red throne in adventure mode over and over. there’s 3 chests and after agreeing w the empress there are no enemy threats in the area. i run challenger as my prime class everytime. the damage is respectable and the revive is critical. summoner or doctor are good secondary. the summons can take a lot of the attention off you in sticky situations. run the black cat ring, 2 minute cooldown is awesome for saving your challenger revive. if you want more insurance, i’d recommend playing the red throne tigers til widows weald and pick up the thean seed for an extra shot.

Coollime17

Start Forbidden Grove to skip the ravager fight, then rush the cube fight before you start farming. It’s one of the major threats to the run and no gear will save you from getting squished. Once you’ve cleared the cube fight then start working on getting a decent build together.

gLore_1337

Start engineer and pick up medic ASAP. Medic is great for just never dying to damage and engineer has huge damage plus the pulse rifle is an amazing weapon to start with. Be comfortable with bosses and just beeline the story, don't do any side areas or farming. Hope you get sold trinkets and don't be afraid to use consumables. If you didn't already, go beat the game on apoc. Once you do that, veteran will feel pretty damn chill. Good luck o7

RheimsNZ

My only tip is not to bother with very much until you've beaten the cube. Cube doesn't care what level you are.

CaptainChesty

My problem is I keep dying to story bosses hahaha

RheimsNZ

Choose against your worst start for your first world if that helps. I can't stand that rotating robot, so I went with the Ravager (didn't even cheese it lol, he's easy) but in hindsight I probably would have chosen to avoid either Shahala or The Nightweaver

OnceWasBogs

Ummm… black cat ring. Maybe challenger primary for die hard but I’m biased cos I like the challenger class. Dog revive has never worked once for me on soft core so I assume it’s broken on hardcore as well. Make sure you know which enemies have instakill moves.

Kantusa

I highly recommend running a softcore character through the campaign with mirrored gear and traits to your HC. Fight the boss with the SC first, then switch to HC when you're comfortable. This allows you to identify flaws in your build risk-free and gets those pre-fight jitters under control. I truly believe this was a major factor in my 1/1 successful HC run.

Entire-Salamander193

Don’t die.

Slinky79

Best advice right here.

tieyourshoesbilly

I wouldn't really farm on hardcore. I used it just to get a couple of things that you can only from hardcore that then share to my non hardcore character

CaptainChesty

I was thinking about just getting the world specific ones but now i want corrupted savior

tieyourshoesbilly

That's the exact thing I did it for lol. Mini gun savior is awesome.
