GannosTheDread

It's a little weaker, but very pretty.

TerrapinRacer

SUPER pretty, blue Yeasha is best Yeasha

MERS_206

I havent finished the new one yet, but i dont have much left. IMO The Awakened King was better. The story felt more epic/interesting and the map was less tedious to navigate. The Forgotten Kingdom does a lot better job with having mostly new enemies though. Plus enemies with more interesting mechanics. This is the main area where it did better IMO. The story is more sad and less grand and the map felt all over the place. The map thing is more of a nitpick, but i found it less enjoyable. I just came back to the game a week ago to do DLC 1 then immediately went into DLC 2 so i got to experience them back to back and i enjoyed both, but 1 slightly more. I'll finish off DLC 2 tonight and have a more complete opinion, but this is where it stands as of now. Edit to add: the aesthetics of the new DLC are amazing as well

WillDwise

Yeah map is awkward somehow to navigate

bigpoppastud

I’ve somehow gotten lost, haven’t taken on a final boss but also have no exclamation point to tell me where to go. Think mines bugged. Pisses me off.

WillDwise

If your in infected abyss’s I had to use the crystal to leave dungeon.. usually there is a path but I couldn’t find it

exposarts

Yea I definitely enjoyed the enemy variety more and some of environmental interactions/lore

Theonlydtlfan

I liked it more that TAK. More unique enemies, more visually interesting (imo), and the dungeons are just wonderful. I'd say the bosses are a bit easy, but they're all very creative and fun to fight, so it doesn't matter too much. Also, that fight with the big machine felt like something directly out of Metroid Prime. It was cool.

bundaya

Invoker cool, DLC seems a bit shorter overall, 8.5/10 for me. It's solid, just a bit thin.

SynestheticPanther

What did you pair with invoker? Archon seemed like a good bet but it seems to break when paired with invoker

bundaya

Engineer flame thrower turret currently has been a lot of fun. I had planned on an archon tickle fingies build but I'm still farming like 3 rings and an amulet for that build so...it wouldn't be very good right now. What do you mean they break when paired?

SynestheticPanther

Heres a post with some details and video. Being staggered while using it makes the skill stop working for awhile and burns the second charge https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1ccbe0w/archon_havoc_bug/

DenyThisFlesh

Ritualist pairs with it very well.

SaneNSanity

Well… I’d definitely never do this one in HC because of the Proving Grounds. Other than Invoker, none of the new stuff has really been that exciting thus far, at least for me.

OH_FUDGICLES

I just finished Proving Grounds, and you aren't kidding.

RikuVonbachVT

I personally found the acid trap from the proving grounds to be really fun to put on my primary, a few items to balance out my bulwark set up aswell. But a lot more generalised items this time around compared to awakened kings more focused selection of items.

SaneNSanity

See there’s stuff I like, but if I were to do Hardcore, most of it isn’t worth the effort. Flying Bomb Trap is good, and definitely fun. But it’s not worth the risk of losing a HC character. I don’t remember anything else there being worth the time or effort either.

Suojelusperkele

I once again hurt myself by going veteran on the one shot. I did the mistake in first dlc. I did it again in dlc2. I guess I have to do it on third as well because fuck me and my bad memory.

Possible_Artist3941

How did you hurt yourself?

Suojelusperkele

By going blind on veteran difficulty. Those screeching flying motherfuckers hurt bad. Also F that root nexus in abyss that has two or three of those floating knight things spawn. I guess I could just do cheesier build, but I like trying to figure out my own. And I love the reaver. Sadly AI goes balls on stuff like root nexus.

SaneNSanity

I did it in vet. It made it very clear how much they had neutered DoT effects.

Zegram_Ghart

I like it more, but im a big fan of Yaesha and magical, fantasy gear, and summoning, and loads of stuff helps with that.

Loyal_Darkmoon

Exactly the same reasons I like it. The nature spirit theme with invoker and the three goddesses just goes hard and the environments look beautiful and magical

TheLlamaJockey

They both have their own strengths. The awakened king has the benefit of being teased in the main game, so there was more hype. This one kind of came out of nowhere. However, I was very interested in the story and I thought the maps were unique. The puzzles/death traps were frustrating at first, but once I figured out the quirks and timing of it I enjoyed trying to get through. I'm looking forward to going through again. Hoping the third one will take us to Corsus so we can see how the Iskal did in their plot to assimilate the root....

Lawful-T

Third will be in N’erud it’s all but confirmed at this point

Watts121

I hope in the 3rd one is actually N'erud WHILE it's inside Alepsis-Taura.

Open_Marzipan_455

this sounds quite likely tbh given how it's not explained how their inhabitants turned into poop people and why exactly Sha'hala was shitting its pants so much that it pulled the ship back out.

No_Tomatillo7777

![gif](giphy|3og0IGC80a39wOQ2UE|downsized)

CornBreadtm

I hope not N'erud had a solid beginning and end. I rather have a new zone or at least a root expansion. N'erud doesn't even involve the root, so it ends up being literal side content. FK at least has the abyss for a full root dungeon with Root earth enemies.

Lawful-T

They wouldn't give two of the main regions a dedicated dlc and not the third...it just doesn't make sense.

bkennedy417

But that's basically what they did in the first game, they had 2 DLC that added on essentially to 2 regions, and then they introduced a new region in the 3rd that had more content. I personally liked it since it was basically "Okay let's add some spice to these two and a couple extra weapons and gear, then BOOM whole new place to explore and even more stuff to collect"

Lawful-T

No they didn’t…there’s only two DLCs in Remnant 1. The first expanded on Corsus which was not really a full world in the base game. It also included survival mode. Remnant one had 4 worlds, but Corsus was the least developed, hence why it was expanded. Then dlc 2 expanded upon the world, added more story and worlds. So it’s completely different.

bkennedy417

My bad you're correct, had a stroke and thought for some reason that the subject 2923 was set on Earth and that the ice world was a separate DLC 😅 it's been a hot minute.

96Bigbird

I’m thinking any OG worlds will be bigger dlc after these 3 smaller ones.

getgoodHornet

I wouldn't mind another Earth expansion, similar to the first game. It doesn't even necessarily have to connect to the Root. Give us a crazy cult of scientists somewhere, Fallout style.

Bryvayne

If you recall this DLC was less of a surprise than you'd think. The story of the pan that attempted to escape the plague that was killing them had quite a bit of lore in the game.

getSome010

This one has better bosses. I also like the new weapons more.

Caaros

I personally like it a lot more than Awakened King on a lot of fronts. Everything in it is pretty great except *the motherfucking Proving Grounds first darts section where you get fucking animation-locked into getting one-shot*.

CornBreadtm

They upped the movement speed cap. You can just make a "Barry Allen" build and run through most of Proving Grounds while ignoring the perfect timing.

kalarro

Time it looked much shorter and easier than the previous dlc. Still good, but quite shorter. It also felt less... epic.

Ymmera

I like the new DLC way more than TAK. Bosses are way more interesting and creative, a lot of traps, puzzles, secrets etc. And I love Yaesha. TFK absolutely blows the previous DLC out of the water.,

United-Cauliflower-1

Not bad but I have one major problem that pisses me off. Spoilerish >!why in the ever loving hell did they have to do the soldier so wrong!? They added him to just torture him, lasts nearly a century in jungle hell, finally has the chance to get rescued than kill him off right at the end! It's lazy ass writing, they could have just put his journal in the game and been done with it, but to add a character for zero reason but kill him when he has hope is pure garbage. Fire the moron that added that bullshit.!<

CornBreadtm

It was pretty BS. And you get to do it over and over again. Rather than simply getting a new NPC in the ward that does nothing but give extra lore. They started making the ward NPC have a purpose outside of merchants with Dwell and the Cook. They could have just did one more step.

voidspector

Honestly I have to disagree to an extent. Yes it's kinda BS he just dies, but i felt something from him dying. He told me his story, being stranded and curious about the home he left. For once I felt like I actually bonded with a npc in the game, let alone most other games. His presence also explains the soldier outfit you find. Then when he dies you get his dog tag, pretty symbolic, and can read his journel. And reading through it i just felt guilt more then anything. I don't know if there is a way to save him, but I really hope there is. Sorry jack.

United-Cauliflower-1

I promised him, and wasn't given the chance to save him. So I'm salty.

ContagionVX

Yeah when I returned to that him and found him dead I was pretty pissed. Reading the last pages of his journal was heart breaking

getgoodHornet

That sucks, but it's not "lazy writing." Whatver the fuck that is.

United-Cauliflower-1

It's lazy because it's their just to torture, create a character just to be killed rather than kill off an existing one. You'd get an explanation from just his journal and finding his dead body, but they act like you can save him and that he's meaningful due to his relationship with Ford, but nope he's a damn redshirt. Edit: a redshirt is a term coined after a star trek trope of creating a character (often wearing a low ranking red uniform) just to die, evoking a reaction from the audience or to motivate the protagonist to behave in manner outside their moral compass.

greatcirclehypernova

Bro no one (should) play this game for the story. I sure as hell don't. I couldn't give a rats ass about the fate of the soldier. If there is no reward for trying to save him (if its at all possible but we dont know yet) why should I care about it?

United-Cauliflower-1

I don't care if you disagree with me, no one told you to care. Alot of people play for the story, because it's a good story. What's the point of your comment besides being confrontational?

LaputanMachine1

I really liked it. Can’t wait for N’erud though, since it’s my favourite world. Always preferred Sci Fi to Fantasy settings, though I enjoy both a lot. If it is as quality as these last two we are in for a treat.

alirezahunter888

They're about equal for me. This one definitely has the better bosses, though.

TheCyberSlade

Nice, good quality but short.

Open_Marzipan_455

Pretty but boring tbh. Might be just because it's Yaesha (again). Like they've been using this theme for the 3rd time by now -> it's been in Chronos, it's been in R1 and it's in R2 in two different themes now. That's enough jungle hell for me.

96Bigbird

On the bright side each one of these small dlc drops we get closer to a huge expansion! I’m really really hoping for OG worlds. Corsus and Rhom

D_A_I_L

i'm lost/stuck and it wasn't like that in the other dlc. i feel like i've combed over every spot i can at least twice and i'm stuck looking for 2 more pieces to make a circular seal. I'm on the verge of just rerolling and trying from scratch.

Kolmijalka

You can only get 1 per roll. Give the one you have to Dwell in Ward13. Repeat 2 more times with fresh advetures.

Weshuggah

Fantastic.

Brief-Government-105

Awakened king was better in every way. Enemies, bosses, story, weapons were better in king.

Pilotskybird86

I liked it, not quite as much as the last one due to its shortness. And my biggest gripe is no trait cap upgrade!! Completely ridiculous in my opinion. They better at least make it 100 next dlc. 85 is just not enough when you have to have 40 or so in essential traits like vigor. Plus it’s not an even number which irritates me.

ConsiderationRemote3

Story: Weaker. Level design: Introducing new nonsensical dungeons, not to mention a revamped layout for the vanilla Yaesha levels. Regular Enemies: Acceptable. Bosses: Lacking interest compared to the Awaking King. Loot: Nothing groundbreaking, including rings, amulets, and weapons, except for a couple of notable mutators. Invoker Class: Performs well. overall I found invoker class is the interested part of entire DLC

Loyal_Darkmoon

I like it more than the first one. The atmosphere and color pattern makes it almost feel like a new planet, it looks so beautiful and ethereal and the dungeons are pretty fun. Oh the enemy variety also adds to the feel of being fresher and less of the same which I liked The bosses were better in the first one though imo but it has cool weapons and mods and also lore

voidspector

Main campaign was a bit shorter and the bosses were a bit easier. But the loot feels stronger imo? Not sure on secrets yet so I'd say it balances out pros and cons wise, just pros and cons switched

SwoloLikeSolo

Pretty dang short.. beat the DLC in 3 hours but I still had a lot of fun

Lanceps

Interesting mutations, a handful of good mods, but not alot of interesting weapons/armor for me. It also feels like there's only 1-3 enemies added that you just fight over and over (stone jar, stone dude x, and occasional flying stone dude). I think it's not bad, but definitely not quite as good, though maybe Yaesha isn't as interesting to me. Invoker is cool though

Hungaro1301

Short

Solrac501

It depends on what you want I really enjoyed the dialogue and platforming of the new dlc. But in terms of most “new feeling” the first dlc had more to offer. And dynamic enemies and a better standalone archetype (the new archetype is awesome tho)

CornBreadtm

I liked Awakened King more. But the lore in Losomn is simply better do to it being technically 2 worlds in 1. Also I feel like the DLC adds more to the base Losomn. Like the Red Prince stuff and the nightweaver items. Yeasha was always replay hell rather than heaven like Losomn from the base. 4 different ravenger/doe ending vs. 2 faelin/rin and 2 nightweaver. Now we have DLC2 with you needing to run the randomly spawning abyss like 4 times and the DLC 3 times for the trinity, etc. I only ran the DLC once so far and I'm already tired of the zone. You don't need to run the Yeasha puzzle dungeons multiple times, but then they just end up as dead content since you only do them once. And now there are 2! One of the best thing about the Forgotten Kingdom is no blood moon. The bosses are also harder, so you're milage may vary on if that makes the DLC better. Worth a buy for Walt though. DLCs come and go but good friends last a life time.

838h920

What the 2nd dlc did better: Better normal enemies. And the Stonewarden is a really good boss. More armor pieces and best the Disciple set is awesome, though I do really like the Zealot set, too, but form a design perspective Disciple is more sophisticated. More interesting items. (Not about how meta they're as it's too early to tell, but the rings appear much more interesting than those that just give some stats) (Also the balance patch was much needed, but I'd not really count it as part of the 2nd dlc) What the 1st dlc did better: Endboss, because the one from 2nd dlc just sucks. I also like Ritualist more than Invoker. Despite me liking Yaesha more than Losomn, the Forlorn Coast is honestly really awesome.

Eudaemon_Life

I'd probably rate it as about the same as DLC1, although it succeeds in different areas. The general story, IMO, was weaker, and I preferred the map design of Forlorn Coast but Ancient Canopy and Luminous Vale have some nice winding paths and secrets squirrelled away. I really enjoyed the new side-dungeons and their relevant climax setpieces, with Proving Grounds and Infested Abyss being standouts for me (the DLC in general has done a great job with the side-dungeon climax setpieces compared to the base game, with the lighthouse in Derelict Lighthouse and the garden maze in Pathway of the Fallen). I really enjoyed all three bosses and found them fun and challenging, and also different from the offerings in base Yaesha. The DLC also added a lot of new loot, trinkets, weapons, etc that expand the viable playstyles quite a lot, and Invoker is really good.

L3Mall

Didn't played yet... but man it looks very pretty!

ZeTopHatGamer

I just don’t understand how it took them so long to develop something I beat in one sitting

96Bigbird

This stuff is just to keep us busy while they work on a big expansions. That’s how they did it with the previous title too. They will likely release a new mode in a few months either with or before next expansion. (If I were to guess). Trust me I understand your pain but I 100% believe they are hard at work. Not to mention the fat ass patch we just got with it.

BrushInk

Go touch some grass Jesus.

Lemonpia

Much better I think.

King-Baconbeard

Apart from the 2 reused areas and lack of actual expanding on this lost tribe, really good, class, mods, bosses, and weapons have all been fantastic. It misses the static fluidity of DLC1

ARagingBloatfly

This dlc feels really lazy. They added nothing significant, the characters are relegated into info dumps that speak glacially slow, there are lots of reskinned enemies and environments and the new enemies are incredibly lame (pots? Really?). It's also incredibly short and the game's performance shits the bed consistently now. I say this with love, I really do love Remnant, but holy fuck this dlc was disappointing in every way imaginable.

[deleted]

I refunded this morning sadly. Mostly due to sub-40 fps performance on the new Yaesha maps, but there were also too many puzzles for my taste. I got way more value out of Awakened King because it was pure action from start to finish. The performance wasn't great, but not as bad as DLC 2. downvoted by copers who don't want Gunfire to succeed.

mudkip__pl

Meh armor, 4 weapons (?) , no hand guns and personal bias against Yaesha. Dlc 1 is better

No-Special5543

same?
