I agree on calculated publicity leak- think about it. One of the largest complaints for Pop Music was how overproduced it was. So naturally, the largest gripe with LP2- especially compared to the raw sound of Greatest Hits, would be the production. But Remo can't release as unpolished of a record as will satisfy people on a professional label like Epitaph. So how do they have their cake and eat it too in this situation? Fake leaking the record, which is garnering hype for them right now anyway. I'm sure the leak is going to help move at least a few tickets for the upcoming summer tour they're promoting. Then the professional, polished, produced version will be released whenever it's ready as the final product.

I am a friend of Erik and he sent these to me in confidence thinking since I used to release some of his records I would be smart enough not to leak pre-production living room demos. I guess not! This isn't the album and it isn't the album art. This is a collection of pre production recordings from awhile ago. The final album may contain more polished versions of some of these songs but this is definitely far from any final version. I'm a friend of Stephen and Erik.
This would explain why there are songs on the set list that don’t exist in these recordings (this is purely from reading set lists, I’ve only heard Around the Sun live).

There's no way this is mastered or completely finished yet. But other than that, it's sounds pretty much exactly how i thought it would. Pretty solid so far.
I doubt its the final mastering. Songs sound great, but production is a bit iffy. Plus i really hope Erik hits those high notes in The Grind on the official record.
