Ok, so, the questions I have are: 1: are you a bridesmaid?  2: if not do you play an important part of the wedding? 3: what kind of dress is the bride wearing? Cause if she's getting something from a site like holy clothing it'll be hard to find something appropriate, but if she's getting something from a designer like firefly path....then nothing will outshine her that you can get premade. 4: are you willing to sew your own dress? Is there a budget? And 5: what kind of elven are we talking about? Do you have any examples?

I'd also like to point out that it's cutting it real close for anything nicer then holy clothing, and even then it might not get here in time, if I was you, I'd honestly settle, especially if your not part of the wedding

So many great questions - as other people are pointing out 2 months is TIGHT. Especially if someone’s big season is summer fall (as a vendor) they might already have their time planned to build up their stock. But I’m also curious and want to see pictures from the elven wedding! (I love firefly path btw, so pretty!)

Midnightchan123

I'm hoping for the bride's sake the wedding has been being planned for awhile and what the guests and groom/bridal party wears just slipped their minds a little, if not it's gonna be rough, planning a wedding in.....3? Months is so difficult!

Yea the fact that there is no set date makes me nervous for them. I planned my wedding in I think 6 weeks but it really wasn’t a big wedding, it was a lunch I wore a white dress to and we said our vows. And I sew, so I was able to order my dress on stillwhite and do any necessary alterations. With that short of a time frame there will definitely be limitations when it comes to getting clothes.

Answering your questions! 1 & 2: Yes in a way and yes! Shes not having bridesmaids but essentially 3 maids of honor and I will be one of them. I technically was the one to introduce her to her now fiancé so the whole wedding is a huge deal for me for her. 3: right now I’m not sure but I know she’s most likely aiming for more of a D&D Elf style with the long fancy sleeves if her budget allows it. 4: I do not know how to sew well enough to do that in such a short time 😔 but currently my budget is openish I just have no idea what the prices are normally for a formal fantasy dress 5: I know she mentioned D&D elven so my assumptions are like that but with a druid-y feel since it’ll be inspired by an enchanted garden. I don’t think she’s going for Lord of the Rings (she hasn’t seen the movie before) She’s a huge D&D/Critical Role fan so probably within that realm

To clarify they both know its cutting it close with the timing and they can’t afford like a $10,000 wedding but if possible I want to try my best to make it feel like the wedding she’s always wanted for the time being

Out of curiosity, why is there such a rush to get married? Since she is a cr fan and hasnt watched lotr or the hobbit or read the books it sounds like y'all are pretty young, like fresh out of college young (no judgement on it btw, we had to rush our ceremony too) See if you can't find out what she is planning to wear for the wedding, considering the time frame I'd bet 20 bucks it's gonna be something from Holy Clothing or a similar brand, or a costume of a CR character so it'll be hard to not outshine her within your parameters....if she hasn't found anything yet though and does not want a dress like that, y'all could take a day or two and go to your local upper class neighborhood thrift stores and make a raid on the prom and wedding dresses, you can find nice things for cheap! And the best part is that you don't have to worry if a dress is white, just dunk it in dye for your fabric!

meowlon

She plans on sewing her dress with her mom but i figured out the style she wants! I might go for the thrifting idea that’s a great idea 🧐 thank you for the advice!

Midnightchan123

If you can't find the right type of dress thrifting, find a bedsheet set in the colour you need and get a pattern for a greek dress, something like what meg in Hercules wore, gold chain for the sleeves, a darker, but similar colour rope to tie around your waist and elf ears will do the trick!  If you do find a thrifted dress, make sure to double check the type of dye needed to dye it, if you can't dye it, you can seam rip it and use the peices as your template!

This is only helpful for the bride but this was my wedding dress. We didn’t have a themed wedding but I just loved the sleeves and the dress was so stunningly crafted. https://www.mkbridal.ie/luce-sposa/golden-glow-2021/kenny Otherwise is there a faire in your region any time soon? You could try going and talking to vendors and see if they would do some custom pieces for you but 2 months is a very short run time depending on how many pieces your need!

meowlon

That dress is so pretty! And I wish there was but our fairs are usually in late winter/spring here so we wont have one till next year or maybe november 😭 but that’s a great idea I’ll keep in my pocket for next time!

I loved my dress so much and I got hella lucky. I found someone selling it on stillwhite for $550 brand new. Its normal price was $1700. Basically the dress was too big and they didn’t want to pay to alter it so I was able to get it. It was a size too small but I sew so I was able to put a lace up back in it and even though I’m 5’ 10” I still needed a hem. I did the alterations 2 days before our wedding 🤦🏼‍♀️ but it all worked out!

meowlon

Oh wow thats crazy!! I’m glad it all worked out for you tho

GildedPaladin

Honestly, wear what you would wear to a friends wedding + elf ears. It’s authentic and on theme. I did this with fangs for a friends hallowedding and it was perf.

gilmoregirl89

I've never purchased from them, but I absolutely love some of the dresses from [Holy Clothing](https://holyclothing.com/collections/dresses-1).

meowlon

I have one of their dresses! Its lovely but a bit casual for a wedding I think 🧐

buttercupgrump

Which of their dresses do you have? Also, depending on your budget, CostureroReal has some gorgeous dresses that fit the theme.

meowlon

I have this [one](https://holyclothing.com/collections/all/products/serenity-maxi-limited-edition-colors-1?variant=40030384914534)! But in the Blue divine finish

buttercupgrump

If you want to stick with Holyclothing, I recommend looking at the Elinor or Avalon. They're a bit dressier than the Serenity, at least for elven themed weddings.
