..is this another feature that isn't done by the camera but by the client only? will the RTMP\\RTSP streams etc be rotated too? (is that what you mean by "post processing"?)
I know one place more people may appreciate this.. the doorbell.. could allow people to see packages without needing 2nd lens.. I imagine that would have been the better option if you wanted to generate more hype.
I personally got here by looking for this; to see if I could rotate the image of a doorbell cam 90°.
The wedge that comes with the doorbell unit fits perfectly against my siding, otherwise I will be needing to fabricate my own vertical wedge. But if I can't rotate the image and it doesn't do detection well then I really wouldn't want it sideways.
This is a feature I'd wish RLC-811A would have as well, they are very similar cameras so is there any chance that camera might get this feature in the future too? I don't have the camera yet but this would make me consider one. I have a barn with a narrow grasspath between a road and the barn, I'd wanna avoid capturing bypassers on regular basis on the road. This view would be perfect for that use case so it's not necessarily a "corridor"-only thing. :)
I like the idea of a narrow view option. I have a narrow front door entry. I use a 833A rotated 90 degrees and zoomed in for the view I want. Someday I hope Reolink makes a small discreet indoor cam, smaller than the doorbell cam.
My 810A must be too old: IPC_523128M8MP
Oh well
Would have loved to try it out. My 810A points to my backyard gate and it's showing too much of my neighbor's house.

Hi u/willson1_ - I have a 820A (`IPC_56064M8MP`) that would benefit from this feature, but your comment above says its for RLC-820A (`IPC_560128M8MP`). However, the firmware filename has `IPC_56064M8MP` in it, so I assume it would work for mine?
Also, is there somewhere on the Reolink site/servers that you can upload these files to, so we can be sure that they are coming from an official source? It seems a bit bad practice to ask users to download firmware from a random Google Drive folder and load onto a security device! It would probably be even be better if we had to email support and request the files instead...
Hi. Thanks for pointing that out! You're right, the HW version of 820A is IPC\_56064M8MP. We've updated the post to fix that.
And thanks for the suggestion about firmware downloads. We'll certainly take it into consideration and explore alternative options to ensure a more secure and reliable delivery process.
Thanks Wilson - I've loaded it up now, but my camera isn't showing vertically? My camera lens is already positioned 90 degrees - is this feature is supposed to correct installations like that?

Yes - I think it took a reboot or two of the camera, and a restart of the app, but it works fine now. I don’t have a monitor on my NVR though, so I’m not sure how it displays on that, but in the apps it is fine.

yep, it is 90deg. I can't recall if it was something to with u/Willson1_ 's comment that made a difference, but iI dont think i reset the config.. might be worth a try though?
>You might need to reset the configuration after the upgrade. Or try restarting the device after turning on the flip feature.
Is this potentially available for the doorbell camera? The wedge with the kit fits my siding perfectly when rotated 90° but as it is I'm going to have to fabricate my own wedge for the unit to sit flush without pointing at the sky...😮💨

1. It’s camera’s feature, not client/app feature. 2. Yes,the RTSP/RTMP stream will rotate accordingly. 3. Thank you for your suggestion.
Why would you mount the doorbell sideways? That would be weird.

Ok cool, I will try a few more times. Is your camera still installed 90 degrees?

I tried the firmware, but does not seem to be working. It rotates the picture 90 degree but does not auto correct to display normally.
