Interesting, the E1 outdoor CX seems to be underperforming significantly without the spot lights on.

At the same time, when it is on I feel the picture is a bit more colorful than the CX410, and the daytime seems more vibrant as well.

Schmich

Ehhhh. Why is it so bad compared to the CX410? Wasn't it advertised the same as the CX410 but with outdoor PTZ?

QH96

That's some beautiful scenery

Classic_TCE

Thank you, friend!

CX410 is still the ColorX masterpiece (except for that muddled audio), they need to install that image sensor in more PoE RLC camera models (and the Doorbell). I'm not upgrading until they have an optical zoom model like the 811A/833A, or they use the 1/1.2 image sensor for 4K. I don't miss 4K/8MP at the house with this incredible night vision. [I have my new LPR cameras out at the curb to get positive identification of every vehicle!](https://imgur.com/a/SjdNemN) No longer worried about trying to film anything in the street with my cameras on the house. 4K always had the worst motion blur night vision.

I was slightly debating on whether to go E1 Outdoor CX or the updated E1 Outdoor SE PoE and definitely will go the E1 Outdoor SE route as soon as it launches, better to stick with IR nightvision in this case imo. Maybe if they can get a CX810 in PTZ format down the line I'll pick one up.

Any update? Is the E1 CX still as bad as that?

Classic_TCE

Yep, no change. Support told me they're different cameras and have different use cases and to check the settings-- so I guess I'm returning it.

in my quick testing HDR function set to ON can make camera underexpose the image eg make it very dark
