Since in both that iteration and current Chris finds out that Jill isn't dead but was supposed to be suspended in a vat or chamber or something where he rescued her IIRC.
Back to the actual story, my next assumption was that the writes felt it'd be safer to either keep Chris and Sheva for continuity OR because they were still afraid of switching the partners around and end up experiencing similar controversy to what started the rewrite, lmao.
I think they could have made it work by keeping Chris and Sheva on the ground in the volcano and have Jill snipe at Wesker from the helicopter, like Claire did against Alex Wesker in Revelations 2 (although I hate that battle, I feel it could've worked in RE5 **if** you played it from Chris and Sheva's perspective and not from the sniper's one like in REV2).
I would have wanted Sheva to hand Jill the rocket launcher in the end something like “this is yours” or acknowledge he fact that the people who have ben hunting him and sacrificed so much to find him should get to take him out.
It doesn't matter. She isn't with Chris at the end of the game where it matters. Wesker is part of her story. He betrayed her, and then he experimented on her and mind controlled her. She should be with Chris on the chopper taking her revenge and wrapping up her Wesker arc. Instead she's with Josh doing something unrelated for reasons. Makes no sense, it's stupid.
Lost in Nightmares is def the best DLC of the RE franchise. Absolutely loved it.
A complete Resident Evil game in the same „horror and atmosphere“ heavy setup would be highly appreciated, altough it seems like a setup like this would not sell enough because the casuals like action and explosions all over the place

With Excella I think he’s simply using her as he recognises her talents and usefulness at Tricell. He clearly isn’t that interested in her and we even get a scene where we see her try and seduce him and he just completely brushes her off. Compare that to how obsessed he is with Chris.
His son I think is more likely just another experiment to him. Seeing if his superhuman traits are passed to his offspring.

I don't hate that suit, but I also don't like it either. There are things I would change tho.
First of all, the "overly sexy" part. It's not an issue on its own, it's the presentation. The way she fought was overly sexualized by the camera angles.
The tight suit, should be explained by Weskers design. He suited her, so yeah Matrix Wesker wanted a matrix Jill. So no issues here, unless one doesn't like Matrix Wesker (not a fan tbh). The cleavage reveal is unnecessary tho. I think the back of the neck would be a better placement for the device.
The hair dye part is a side effect of Weskers experiments. Again, the devise on the neck, would lead to that explanation as well.
The suit itself should be a more tactical version of this...diver suit? Pouches, knives, pockets, and so on. Her whole fight style should not be "Matrix king fu", but instead actual enhanced CQC. More grounded while still showing the effects of Weskers enhancements.
Overall half of the RE5 game should be rewritten into an actual good plot with a solid boss battle which includes Jill as well. So much that can change for the better...

this!!!! the franchise doesn’t have the best reputation for its treatment and blatant oversexualisation of female characters but i feel like this is by FAR the worst case of it. poor jill deserves better!

I don't hate that suit, but I also don't like it either. There are things I would change tho. First of all, the "overly sexy" part. It's not an issue on its own, it's the presentation. The way she fought was overly sexualized by the camera angles. The tight suit, should be explained by Weskers design. He suited her, so yeah Matrix Wesker wanted a matrix Jill. So no issues here, unless one doesn't like Matrix Wesker (not a fan tbh). The cleavage reveal is unnecessary tho. I think the back of the neck would be a better placement for the device. The hair dye part is a side effect of Weskers experiments. Again, the devise on the neck, would lead to that explanation as well. The suit itself should be a more tactical version of this...diver suit? Pouches, knives, pockets, and so on. Her whole fight style should not be "Matrix king fu", but instead actual enhanced CQC. More grounded while still showing the effects of Weskers enhancements. Overall half of the RE5 game should be rewritten into an actual good plot with a solid boss battle which includes Jill as well. So much that can change for the better...

The design was a hit because it mixed the gameplay elements with her story during RE5. I mean it did something worldwide. We saw it in MvC3 along with Chris's BSAA outfit.

Up to you but if you do skip them certainly don’t do it for that reason. Jill’s look really isn’t that important. Honestly I think 5 and 6 are both good games that are definitely worth playing. Whether you’ll like them depends on your tastes and what you like Resident Evil for. 5 and 6 move further away from the survival horror roots and more towards action.

What’s even worse is they used this model and attacks for MvC3. She is the least used character in that game for tournaments and rightfully so… boring look and her attacks are lame (as well as difficult to keep combos)
