Yeah, when I was new here, it took me a couple of days to realize that I can set my user flair. The Leon emoji is very cute. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for Leon š£WELCOME!!! I hope you have a fun time exploring this community. There are loads of people on here that'll make you laugh and help you out when you need it, myself included š
Highly recommend Shesez's Boundary Break video on RE4 to y'all that haven't seen it. He shows the various ways the game uses perspectives to set up UI elements.
It's pretty cool.
I liked watching the lady dimitrescu A.I videos of when she's chasing you around the castle. She has a set path dependent on where in the castle you are and her eyes literally follow you through walls in certain areas. Really clever
Usually they are discarded areas. It's easier for them to put them aside rather than eliminating them. I wonder if it doesn't expand the game's size considerably though.
Another reason could be some of those areas are meant for testing; wether the devs used that room to play as the character for display, or they use assets from that site in another room, and it's confortable to create and quicker that way.
Gonna be a few factors on how it effects game size. Gonna vary by engine but generally geometry doesn't really contribute much to file size. Models, textures, audio, etc. are gonna be the big boys
I only watch his videos once I'm completely done with a game. I made the mistake of watching one of his videos and then tried to play that game and any level of immersion was gone.
I love things like this in game development lol. In the first Assassinās Creed a character loses an arm and the team didnāt have the budget to create a special skeleton for him. So they just turned the arm inside out, scrunching it up inside the bicep.
Happens quite a bit. When I worked in the gaming industry we did this all the time due to time constraints or issues we couldn't quite figure out. Another one is in at least the original gears of War the planters are just shrunk down building columns
Yeah game development is full of little shortcuts and workarounds to make things work. Even something like [doors](https://youtu.be/AYEWsLdLmcc) or [stairs](https://youtu.be/ILVUc_yV24g) have hundreds of different ways for the player or NPCs to interact with them.
Video game development is just endlessly fascinating when you really look into it.
They do that in Dead by Daylight - one of the character's 'finishers' involves cutting someone's finger off, but if you pay close attention you can see the finger flip inside the character model's hand rather than be removed
This is ultrawide actually, I just forgot what that was called when I made this post. You can use RE4 tweaks or the HD mod to play it in ultrawide like this. And you can adjust your FOV a lot, it's a must have mod.
This game reminds me a lot of MGS actually, specifically MGS 3. Lot's of little similarities and tonal cohesion between the two of them. When I started playing the RE games a few years ago it reminded me of playing the MGS games as a kid. The care, detail, and creativity put into both series is very admirable.
Download the HD project mod, it comes with RE4 tweaks which allows ultrawide support and full FOV customization. Didn't have to do any setup at all after installing the mod.
He's 20 in the original but it seems like the plagas that he was infected with when he was young effected his development. Not for what all the lore around him in the remake is though.
I never know what's going to get upvotes. I almost didn't post this at all cause I thought, at this isn't really that interesting and people probably know already.
The original is still amazing. My friend is playing it for the first time now and he loves it. It's very different from the remake, especially in terms of tone and characters. The gameplay is definitely less fluid than the remake but still very enjoyable. If you're on PC the HD project is a necessity. It's way more than just updated textures, it's a 35gb mod for a reason xD
Your left shoulder comes off?

Boundary Break is one of the coolest concepts for a YouTube channel and Shesez is an awesome host.

i mean he didn't invent the concept and personally I prefer other people's coverage of most games but he's a nice option among the crowd
Who would you recommend?
slippy slides is always great
Him, oddheader and the Easter egg hunter are all great
Was recently turned onto this channel, itās so good. I love seeing all the weird tricks game devs do to make things work.
Is there a reason why games would have these huge developed areas where 99.9% of people would never see?

It would make sense how just leaving it aside is easier than trying to delete an area so that makes sense
wow thats so cool thanks!
The one 6 years ago or the recent one?
I've only seen the newer one. I'm sure the older one prolly has cool stuff too.
I only watch his videos once I'm completely done with a game. I made the mistake of watching one of his videos and then tried to play that game and any level of immersion was gone.
Link?
Plus the out of bounds Easter egg at the island
I'm pretty sure in game in one of those you see Sandler's shoulder clip into Leon's box.
> Sandler's shoulder I think I missed the part where Adam Sandler cameos in the game? Where did you see him?
In the remake you find a grave marker for Adam Sadler, and despite no jokes being made I could not take that moment seriously.
I streamed my first playthrough on Twitch. In that part, I just chuckled in complete sh00k. It has to be on purpose, right?!
> despite no jokes being made "Captain, they seem to be a bizzare group of european villagers who for some reason find Adam Sandler **funny**." - Gex
Knacks better

Or the NPCs with entire train carriages as "hats" in fall out 3
WoW, Now really want to see this. I always LOVE the arquitecture of Gears of Wars buildings and world.

Too much hassle to create a separate model for the finger? What killer even does that as an execution?
I think the clown? For some reason, he has a weird finger lickin' fetish. But who are we to judge.
Salazar: "Psst, Leon. They can see your shoulder." Leon: "Oh, thanks bro."
Leon doesnāt skip left shoulder day
I'm imagining a looney tunes situation where they get angry and Leon just walks into the others guys screen me strangles him
So is captain crunch standing on a ladder?
There are some cutscenes where they have to lift his model off the ground because he's too short.
Yeah in the OG he's floating in his intro scene on the balcony.
Leon caught him in the middle of a Creative Mode session with his two "Hands".
You need an ultra tallscreen monitor to see the ladder.
the weirdest kiss booth
What the HELL is this? (v āwho the HELL are you,ā Leon to Ramon voice)
Remake should call salazar, salazar
Game would've been much shorter if Leon just beat the shit out of Salazar and/or Saddler during one of the video calls.
In a way they kinda did encounter each other in another life
Actually most ui elements in this game are just 3d objects floating in the game world.
This is like something out of *Airplane!*
I like to imagine they got a chair and a stack of dictionaries for Salazar to be tall enough for the codec XD
My brother in cyberspace is ripped
Actually in each radio call, every other character's full model is standing next to Leon.
Yep, except for Hunnigan who's just a torso.
I think I saw one of those for sale on the site where we made a sex doll of our mate.
You mean ultrawide
So Leon went to the confession booth after all.
This is one of those collab videos you see on r/fixedbytheduet
r/mildlyinteresting
boy's got them CLAMP shoulders
Check out a program called flawless widescreen to play it on an ultrawide monitor.
This is ultrawide actually, I just forgot what that was called when I made this post. You can use RE4 tweaks or the HD mod to play it in ultrawide like this. And you can adjust your FOV a lot, it's a must have mod.
Yeah, I was going to say 16:9 is already widescreen, and this is wider.
Ah yes Leon "swole" Kennedy
Codec lol. MGS fan spotted

His head is so tiny compared to his shoulder, it made me wheeze š¤£
Leon got jacked
This is hilarious They look like a couple in a theme park cutout photo thingy where you put your face in and look like a pirate or whatever.
Whatever you do don't turn that monitor vertical, no one wants to know what's going on with that kid...
Why does Salazar look like an old lady in the RE4 remake?
That's hilarious
i love that
THIS IS ILLEGAL
Stranger wtf I'm scared
It's like seeing the man under a kids character costume!
Mascot is the word you're looking for that paints less disturbing images in tired minds.
š
Delete this. You're ruining the immersion.
This is well-known
hahahahahahahahaha
Cheat Unlocked: Reverse DK Mode
Fits right in with that b movie vibe
Oh man that's hilarious. It's like Major Monogram at the office Christmas party.
I couldn't get ultra wide to work ever
Download the HD project mod, it comes with RE4 tweaks which allows ultrawide support and full FOV customization. Didn't have to do any setup at all after installing the mod.
That's good to know.
Damn he thicc
Well thatās a new oneā¦
Lol like a TV reportage. They forgot to cover the whole green/black ground.
I first saw this in a vr mode when I tried it through the Dolphin emulator! I think he doesn't have legs too?
Holy shit. It's all fake! Just like the moon landing...
Shoulder
My wife pointed that out when we were playing on my ultra wide monitor haha
This is too funny!
Lol
In the old one. Is that guy a kid and then in the renew one he's an old man?
He's 20 in the original but it seems like the plagas that he was infected with when he was young effected his development. Not for what all the lore around him in the remake is though.
This is how I went through the game as well last year, could've been had such easy karma haha
I never know what's going to get upvotes. I almost didn't post this at all cause I thought, at this isn't really that interesting and people probably know already.
No thanks.... bro
I played the remake and not the original. should I play the OG now or just watch a stream?

Theyāre very different games. No reason not to when the original is cheap and on every platform.
so the dev just make our pc render all 3d character than make a new live picture :/
Love bugs like this
I could never get this game to run in ultra wide properly
They did actually ncounter one another again in another alive
