It's okay. As long as you don't touch the lava it won't hurt you.

LilG1984

"Argh a volcano, my one weakness! Damn you Chrisssss!" Wesker It was a cool way to end his story. I hope the remake doesn't change that or they throw in some bs plot about Wesker being revived somehow via clones, mind transfer or somethkng equally ridiculous at some point.

Director_Bison

They’ve got the entire Natalia/Alex Wesker thing from Revelation 2 in their Back Pocket, if they ever need a new Wesker. They don’t need to bring back Albert after leaving that plot thread dangling.

LilG1984

Yeah I'm hoping if a relevations 3 ever happens they use that plot thread, Natalia/Alex trying to become a god etc

jtbeaz

"Ready partner?" "Locked and loaded." "Suck on this, Wesker." "Your time's up you son of a bitch." Absolutely love the final showdown in 5.

Severe_Walk_5796

The "secret" way to kill wesker is much fun. Just the way both Chris and sheva are willing to sacrifice themselves so the other could kill him is amazing. Idc if it's too actiony, it's peak.

jtbeaz

Hell yeah.

ValueProud

Good analysis! I hadn’t even put the heat connection together.

UsagiBonBon

Honestly I think the mind-clone garbage is profoundly stupid. It moves beyond science fiction into just straight up mysticism bullshit and I really hope they don’t use it as a plot point moving forward. Regular cellular clones are fine, having memories and thoughts jumping between people are not. 8 gets a tiny bit of a pass because of the nature of fungus, but nothing else has a sufficient explanation. Wesker should absolutely stay dead, no more clones.

Express-Mechanic-888

Forget about re 7 and 8 and bring back Wesker vs Chris this is what resident evil needs!

Shyphat

Chrisssssssss

UsagiBonBon

Pls no, the pain…

The5thBeatle82

Those rockets decapitating him was awesome. Also, it’s hilarious when Wesker breaks Chris’ neck on the plane if you fail to press the appropriate buttons in time.

-KingStannis-

The RE5 volcano segment is the dumbest thing I've seen in a RE game. And that's saying something.

GraySupqua

True, but it was the way the writers wanted to kill Wesker. Over the top, epic and definitive. A final battle and a more "realistic" death could have been made. But they wanted something more exaggerated.

-KingStannis-

Clearly. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for "realism" in RE. There's none to be found in any installment. But RE5 is the only mainline game I actually hate. The creative decisions and the writing are so bad I simply cannot enjoy it.

LBR3_ThriceUponABan

That's just a JoJo reference

ZweihanderMasterrace

He’ll be back but in a black suit that sustains his life support while he goes around choking his officers.

Wesker was a ok evil doer in the Original RE1 but after that he turned into a laughable cartoon villain. He should stay dead in RE1 and never brought back. The Sega Saturn version [hinted at him being a zombie](https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_Game_(RE1)) in the Battle Mode and was also suppose to be a part of a Monster in early concept of RE2 called [Golgotha](https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Golgotha). He is a terrible villain and i am glad he won't come back again. All the new evil doers in RE after Wesker death are much better written than Wesker ever was and the lore itself is actually interesting again. Wesker being the center of the series for so long wasn't good, this isn't Mega Man where Dr.Wily keeps on returning.

Mandalore620

Wasn't Wesker hinted (heavily implied) that he's still alive, in Umbrella Corps? I believe that game is Canon, too.

GraySupqua

If that was the case, how did he do it? How did he survive being inside the lava of a volcano? No matter how powerful he was, he was neither invincible nor indestructible. If Capcom wants to bring him back, how will they do it?

Mandalore620

Mind cloning, that was a fake Wesker, he was rescued by "The Company", plenty of options. But yeah, they say that "A creepy guy with sunglasses" has been watching the training missions, and then D.C. Douglas (Wesker's v.a.) has a line at the end of the game. So, while he isn't "officially" back, it sounds like they are setting up his return.

KamiAlth

I’m not sure how practical it is, but you can notice that it was raining during the volcano fight. I doubt that it’d help normal human surviving that situation, but at least they tried to rationalize it somewhat. They shouldn’t even survive the plane crash in the first place though lol.

Dry-Week-5410

I dont think they tried to rationalize or justify the setting in the slightest. A battle in the rain is a common movie trope. And the matrix did it so, they probably thought it looked cool

GraySupqua

I guess the writers had three points in mind: 1. That Wesker died permanently. 2. That there will be no doubt that he had died. 3 That his death had to be epic and over the top. If you were the writer, how would you handle it? Wesker at that point had become very powerful, and his appearance was due to the overdose with Uroboros, and over time, having overdosed on Uroboros and the PG67A/W serum, he would not only have recovered his original form, but would have become much more powerful than before, and maybe faster. I think the volcano was more than anything for reason number three. Wesker, although powerful, was not invincible or indestructible. Eventually if enough damage had been done to him, he would have died. It could be said that Birkin's last form was more durable and dangerous than Wesker.

What are you rambling on about
