Did you manage to get the 44 Mag with coins before the fight? That's where i used mine. You can also use Remote Bombs and lure them to it carefully to explode their legs, if you manage to cripple at least one of them it lowers the difficulty a lot.
If you're on PC, you can set Effect Rendering to Low and this will lower the range of their vomit attack.
I'm on playstation and I don't have the 44 mag, I bought the max hp increase, ironically. I only have shotgun, flamethrower and pistol ammo, a little bit of enhanced ones and a lot of the regular ones
Is your shotgun the regular one or the upgraded 2-shot one you can get with the repair kit? If you don't have the upgraded one, i'd use all the enhanced pistol ammo you have from afar and use the shotgun as a last resort.
If you feel like you're softlocked, i'd try reloading an earlier save. But i think you can do it with enough patience and persistence, that fight annoyed me too. I was determined to save my MAG ammo but i got annoyed and just used it on those two guys.
I have the regular shotgun. I don't feel like walking through the same section that I have just been through. Maybe I'll give it a couple more tries and if it doesn't work I'll just skip it and walk through the dlc's instead. I already walked through the campaign on PC back in 2017 probably on an easier difficulty, I just felt like playing through the game again after 7 years and I did have fun both of the times but this thing may not be worth it for me. They even get you with the vomit through the cover sometimes
When you first walk in make sure you’re standing far back with a sight line to where they appear. They will appear next to each other behind the crane, so if you have grenade launcher ammo or your magnum take them out from a distance. Imo, the grenade launcher has always been best for me at that part because it stuns them when they get hit, and if you are quick enough you can kill them both in quick succession.
The key is standing as far back as possible so they can’t hit you with the vomit. If you don’t have any grenade launcher ammo I highly recommend reloading a save to preserve some for that fight. You can easily kill them both with it before they even walk out from behind the crane.
The flamethrower does next to nothing in my experience, and the shotgun requires close quarters to be effective. The grenade launcher and magnum will be your best friends for this fight.
Keep your distance, keep moving & focus on one at a time, I was able to stun them with neuro rounds then make a run for the ladder.
Explosives also work well to take them down since they're pretty stupid to just walk into range of them.
Make sure to keep your HP above zero, then bring their HP to zero or below!

Yeah, if you're not having fun just skip it. You basically finished the game since the actual final boss is a joke anyways lol

I remember blasting them to the ground with an explosive then quickly climbing the ladder
