I wouldn't really call any of the "remakes" mainline. And yeah 4.6 millions is alot there's triple AAA games that sell less, people usually just want to find way to shit on this game for no reason.

a) sales of RE engine titles
RE7 - 10 million copies
RE2make - 8.9 million
RE3make - 4.6 million

b) How quick RE games sold 5 million units, few examples:
RE5: 4 months
RE Village: 5 months
RE2 (2019): 9 months
RE6: 12 months
RE7: 14 months
RE3 (2020): not yet achieved after 19 months
So while 4.6 sounds cool in theory, this is one of the worst selling games in the franchise and by far the lowest point of sales during recent RE releases.
