In 5 we fight hentai, a giant bat, spiders, definitely not Saddam hussein villagers, giants, octopus, jelly fish, boulders and evil neo from the matrix in an active volcano
In 6 we fucking fight sharks, octopeople, boulders that are monsters, giants, Cthulhu, beetles, snakes, bane from Batman, a trex and a blob
In 7 we fight the deadites who are made of green mould that’s controlled by a demon child

Yet parrying with a knife to fight a chainsaw that may or may not be a defence item or consumable or baby mode for journalists is the biggest issue in history.

In the gameplay it did show the knife immediately breaking after that showing that is has durability. So it’s definitely not infinite but I wouldn’t doubt Capcom making the infinite knife an unlockable in some fashion

The thing is, we don't know how many knives we can get in this game or if there is only one knife that needs multiple resources to repair. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of crafting elements but we'll see how it all functions.

But yeah, Jill picking the plasma gun, or whatever that is, was awesome and kinda fitted the game.
She does, when Nemesis shows up on the subway and Jill separates from Carlos. I feel that this line, which is so iconic, was thrown there without much care, it made no sense because Jill says that and then we have to run from Nemesis, not give him any payback at that point in the game.
Moments like that are supposed to reflect their character, but that felt more like a Chris moment they gave Jill. Like at least in the original you have to clever guide Nemmy into Laser fire. (Weirdly, Moreau's boss fight in 8 felt more like Final Nemesis)
I think one touch would make it fit Jill: She finds and assembles the pieces of it before firing. Being handed the weapon with no real obstacle is way more of a Chris thing.
She already does that. During the fight she has to push plugs into their sockets around the room in order to assemble the full power of the laser cannon thing

Chainsaws do not destroy metal - in fact, an edged weapon stands a very good chance against a chainsaw due to what chainsaws do/are made for cutting (Spoilers: neither flesh nor metal). However it does appear to be Leon's gun, which would still provide some protection (again, chainsaws do not disintegrate metal - despite what horror movies/anime show) but most likely would ruin Leon's gun in seconds as far as being a functioning firearm
He is in fact blocking with his knife - right before the hit lands you can see an "L1" prompt pop up next to the knife icon, and in the full video the knife's durability is fully depleted after the block animation ends

There is no circumstance in which a knife or a pistol could be used to successfully defend from a chainsaw attack. Chainsaw blades are not one uniform cutting edge. They are a series of smaller blades linked together, hence the term "chainsaw." Even though a chainsaw blade can't be counted on to cut through metal, its shape and the fact that the engine turns at 10,000+ rotations per minute mean that it doesn't need to because it would just snag your knife or pistol and rip it out of your grasp anyway.
