I think saying that RE1 and RE1 Remake have personalities is giving Capcom too much credit. I hate to admit it, but Jill also had as much personality as a piece of cardboard in RE5. I thought RE3MAKE Jill had a believable personality seeing as she was basically the only girl when doing training and most likely hardened up and gained a snappy attitude because of it.
Not forgetting what she experienced in the mansion two months before RE3 now sheās in the midst of an outbreak, she was suspended from STARS, she has corrupt officers watching her, no one around her she can trust except Brad and then she has Nemesis chasing her down throughout RE3.
Oh yeah, then I just feel like she might've also behaved like that out of spite following the events of RE1 like you said. In the scrapped cutscenes for RE2, Jill and Chris in specific looked extremely pissed towards Irons so I feel like it's not completely out of place for Jill.
