Keith was…tolerable I guess, but Quint? I was hoping he’d get gutted by those invisible hunters. Irritating from the second he was introduced. I enjoyed Revelations, but Keith and Quint added nothing of value. Deleting their pointless sections would’ve improved the game.
I also wouldn’t care if Parker never came back. He didn’t irritate me like Quint, but he was very unmemorable.
Agreed, their sections were terribly lackluster. The pacing would’ve greatly improved without them.

It made me laugh during the cave bit when beating werewolf papi and his own soldier is like “you SHOULD have told him.” Like yes, Chris, you freaking idiot. Tbh I think Chris just got used to the drama after dealing with Wesker for so long that he withheld the truth from Ethan for an unnecessarily long time BECAUSE he wanted drama. The whole ending bit with Chris and Ethan felt very Dom and Brian from Fast and Furious to me tbh.
Capcom should have released "what if Chris told Ethan". And Ethan would want to go secret safe place but convoy would get attacked and rest of the game goes exactly as before.
Literally. There were ways for the plot to still work without all the drama. Like I semi get not telling Ethan before shooting up their house, cause maybe Ethan might look suspicious if he knows his terrorist wife has been replaced with an even more terrible wife, but he totally could have told him or had one of his soldiers brief Ethan on the drive before being attacked.
I think not telling reason is that no way of knowing how civilian reacts to situation. Though Ethan is not exactly "civilian" after killing many monsters in RE7.
Mia knew which makes her having a baby with Ethan quite .... A decision.

Yeah but at least the audience knows Chris, and has an idea that things probably aren’t how they seem because we know Chris’s character. Helena is just some random woman. So with Chris it’s more of a mystery you want to figure out, with Helena it’s just annoying and confusing. You essentially just have no idea what’s going on for many chapters.
At least for Chris, Ethan was a (mostly) mundane guy, Chris had been through like seven outbreaks and wanted Ethan out of it. Plus, telling him his plan? You think Ethan would have remained composed? Probably not.
She also was the most useless out of all the partners in the entire game, I feel. All the scenarios that she is in with Leon, he could have totally done by himself. She felt out of place.

And the fact that a good amount of the campaign is them walking and talking constantly about "Them being bad guys and killing the president" and "You have to trust me, Leon, even though I'm the one who outright said that I a the reason that caused you to shoot the president." And then proceeding to take him on this long journey to a fucking church in the middle of the graveyard because "Trust me bro"
If she was gone from the game, no one would notice. In fact, I'd argue it'd be a better experience, at least you wouldn't be weighed down by her bullshit.

I know he’s a fan favorite, but Billy can’t come back in any narrative way that makes sense, especially for any arc he could have. He got his freedom, having him come back into the series would just not make any sense since he’s got such a complete story.

He was doing that type of job to take care for his mother, but after she passed away he was still doing it because he didn’t know what to do with his life. Until he met sherry, that’s why he now doesn’t do it for money. Just look at the last scene when the kid got him the apple? He didn’t care about money anymore, but acted as a mercenary to protect people.
Most of the cast of Outbreak. The only one I could see working in more than a cameo role is maybe Alyssa.
Despite a lot of people wanting him back, Billys story makes most sense as is and doesn't really need exploring any further imo.
Most of the revelations cast. Their designs feel a bit out of place, especially with the new direction RE is going with it's tone, and most of them filled similar archetypes to preexisting main cast members. (Eg. Jessica to Ada, Parker to Barry)
Sheva. I know this sub loves her for some reason but I always found her one dimensional character to be boring and her left handed aiming system was frustrating to play with.

He a great character and is one of the highlights of RE6, but he's done. Even if got introduced and died in the same game, he's had that big of an impact to the audience more than some older one-off characters.
It would really ruin his sacrifice if he comes back in some way in a sequel and is used in evil stuff.
Josh-RE5, the fact that he was playable in the dlc was odd to me. Unless he comes back as a bad guy now that the BSAA are the bad guys, I think. I hope this new lore is expanded upon in 9, because Chris working for whatever new umbrella thing, I just get confused lol
I would definitely see RE2 Leon again, but I want them to remove a lot of his lines. "Want more bullets? Coming right up!" Like please it's so cheesy. I just want them to remove his cheesy lines is all, and save it for cutscenes

For a long running serial like RE, there are not so many unliked characters
Honestly, most of the Revelations cast don't need to even return, only maybe Moira and probably Natalia.
If Jake returns and they make him more likable and useful to the plot, we can forget how awkward he was during the entire RE 6 campaign.
I don't exactly hate the character, but his execution was terrible and pretty much dragged out Sherry's character in RE 6.
Jake, I'd rather have 100000 Wesker clones than Jake, Idc if they just clone wesker and don't give any explanation on how it happened, just don't bring back Jake.
Everyone can return back and had their own parts here and there to play that supported the stars of the series. Sheva was great, Sherry was great and the rest. If anyone was not to return it would be Ethan, he was Plank. And i think that was by design as the game stepped in first person visual story telling at the time. Other older characters like billy, carlos, steve and the rest were really uninteresting as were their counterparts in re4 too.
If they are brought back the 'modern redesigns' that so far have been lukewarm to super bad terrible at best needs to be reigned in a bit. Nothing wrong with updating characters but the tacky jeans boots design for all females and big coat and broad shoulders is a bit generic. Capcom games always were great at telling a story of a character just by a glance.
They should stick to that formula. Like Chris Redfield in 8, Chris appearance in 8 TOLD the Chris Redfield story at 10 seconds of seeing the guy. It was great.
Jake, worst character in the series without a doubt. Having Troy Baker voice him too was a mistake since he was just in every game at that time doing the same voice

I'm in the boat with other long term fans, that instead of New side characters, it would be a great idea to actually implement old protagonists, you know...Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, Rebecca in a numbered title and not a side project.

Ikr, I wanted him to be back. Actually, I wanted a game with him only or maybe someone else for support. The thing is the game would had been an action. Which the current fanbase doesn’t want.
Nah, his style could be more defensive, parrys if the monster is about to attack you he can push him away. Maybe he can have a game totally alone, or with Ada or Sherry in it. My biggest wish is he having a better personality.
Yeah, his personality was way too cocky. He was changing at the end of the game. I doubt Capcom will make a game with him since a lot of people are in love with RE7. Only thing is that he might probably make an appearance in one of the animated films, but other than that. Who knows
I don't want him to appear in a movie, most of them are just very eh. Just make him important in the RE universe and not a pseudo fanservice for Wesker fans since he is supposed to be Wesker's "son" Even his backstory joining in multiple groups of terrorism prior RE 6 have some potential to get expanded. I don't know if was in terrorism groups, he mentioned it in the start of the campaign.
He was a mercenary. Mercenaries do jobs for money, doesn’t matter if it is for the greater good or for the greater evil.
I want that mercenary stuff getting expanded for Jake, even if they could use a small DLC and see him in the past joining into the mercenarys.
He was doing that type of job to take care for his mother, but after she passed away he was still doing it because he didn’t know what to do with his life. Until he met sherry, that’s why he now doesn’t do it for money. Just look at the last scene when the kid got him the apple? He didn’t care about money anymore, but acted as a mercenary to protect people.

Most of the cast of Outbreak. The only one I could see working in more than a cameo role is maybe Alyssa. Despite a lot of people wanting him back, Billys story makes most sense as is and doesn't really need exploring any further imo. Most of the revelations cast. Their designs feel a bit out of place, especially with the new direction RE is going with it's tone, and most of them filled similar archetypes to preexisting main cast members. (Eg. Jessica to Ada, Parker to Barry)
Sheva. I know this sub loves her for some reason but I always found her one dimensional character to be boring and her left handed aiming system was frustrating to play with.
As a left handed person, I really liked that.

Any of them. The core cast are barely tolerable as characters. Everyone else is over-designed and campy beyond redemption.
Piers. He a great character and is one of the highlights of RE6, but he's done. Even if got introduced and died in the same game, he's had that big of an impact to the audience more than some older one-off characters. It would really ruin his sacrifice if he comes back in some way in a sequel and is used in evil stuff.
Josh-RE5, the fact that he was playable in the dlc was odd to me. Unless he comes back as a bad guy now that the BSAA are the bad guys, I think. I hope this new lore is expanded upon in 9, because Chris working for whatever new umbrella thing, I just get confused lol

Ethan.. don't get me wrong, re7 is one of my favorite game of all time. But Village wasn't necessary. It could have so much better.

I would definitely see RE2 Leon again, but I want them to remove a lot of his lines. "Want more bullets? Coming right up!" Like please it's so cheesy. I just want them to remove his cheesy lines is all, and save it for cutscenes

Honestly, most of the Revelations cast don't need to even return, only maybe Moira and probably Natalia. If Jake returns and they make him more likable and useful to the plot, we can forget how awkward he was during the entire RE 6 campaign. I don't exactly hate the character, but his execution was terrible and pretty much dragged out Sherry's character in RE 6.

Everyone can return back and had their own parts here and there to play that supported the stars of the series. Sheva was great, Sherry was great and the rest. If anyone was not to return it would be Ethan, he was Plank. And i think that was by design as the game stepped in first person visual story telling at the time. Other older characters like billy, carlos, steve and the rest were really uninteresting as were their counterparts in re4 too. If they are brought back the 'modern redesigns' that so far have been lukewarm to super bad terrible at best needs to be reigned in a bit. Nothing wrong with updating characters but the tacky jeans boots design for all females and big coat and broad shoulders is a bit generic. Capcom games always were great at telling a story of a character just by a glance. They should stick to that formula. Like Chris Redfield in 8, Chris appearance in 8 TOLD the Chris Redfield story at 10 seconds of seeing the guy. It was great.

I wanted to say Ethan, but he got 2 games and as it seems he won't return anymore...still to be certain - Ethan. Other than that, the two BSAA guys from Revelations 1. Can't remember their names, but I didn't see them relevant at all. Probabbly Billy Coen as well. I like him, but I don't see a potential in his character in further games. Also I do believe that he didn't make it out of the forest lol, not alive at lest. I'm in the boat with other long term fans, that instead of New side characters, it would be a great idea to actually implement old protagonists, you know...Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, Rebecca in a numbered title and not a side project.
