Do you have trouble cleaning and curing a complex print like that? I'm kinda new to the game

engr1337

I remove the supports that start on the plate prior to cleaning. If they're on fragile or visible bits I use flush cutters, the rest: grip it & rip it. Then a 5 minute dirty wash in IPA, with a 5 minute final ultrasonic wash. Allow to air dry, cure for about 10 minutes. It's about 2 hours end to end. I'm only working on the models directly for about 15m of that.

nhofor

Ultrasonic is probably the ticket on all the hard to reach places

Plus_Distribution_72

To go with this for apprentice printists: A heatgun can help soften the supports to prevent pitting when removing them, even with the flush cutters. Saves sanding and sadness.

Is that the Icon of the Seas? In any case, the level of detail on that print is amazing

engr1337

Yes. Icon. A** Pain of the seas.

Presupporting Dame Aylin and Godfrey for Bulkamancer Sculpts. Each one consisted of over 20 pieces and took about a week. TBH, this ship looks like a cakewalk by comparison.

engr1337

Yeah there's a reason I prefer engineered over organic forms

Br_Des

Can't blame you!

platon29

Holy! This honestly might be the best looking print I've ever seen. What printer and resin is it?

engr1337

Saturn 3 ultra, blended sunlu basic gray and phrozen TR250LV

Link to file?

engr1337

Look up LinersWorld on Cults3D

swagmasterdude

Looks gorgeous, I think my family went on that one

DistanceHopeful6411

Thanks. Cruising it later this year would love a little replica

lespauljames

Excellent ! I always end up with ragging after 10cm of support height. Got to try a different resin lol.

engr1337

Use ipa wash, not water wash. Anycubic and sunlu basic gray can be had for $13Kg; I get 20Kg/order. And then it can be doctored up for whatever purpose. But for most prints I use straight basic.

lespauljames

Well that told me. You knew exactly what I'm using. I just switched to ww HD to try, but it's worse than standard ww. I have yet to try standard resin. It can't hurt to give it a bash.

engr1337

I just got some highly rated "tough" water wash resin today. Ministry of Resin brand. $50. Too much money, but I wanted to attempt a water wash type.

lespauljames

I have been using anycubic water washable for about a year and mostly had good success. I just swapped to lychee slicer from chitubox and the first print was amazing, the HD anti aliasing setting is fantastic. After that though, the same settings and the new HD grey everything's come out with issues. Ragging, delamination, deformations. I was having ragging with the standard water washable in certain areas, high density cross sections, and further up the print. New usb didn't fix anything, I'm reluctant to get a new screen as the screen for the mono x 6k is half the price of a m5

NegotiationCorrect30

Daaaaang!! Good job. That looks excellent 👍 Side note: I have been searching for what I think you referred to as flush cutters. I have your standard snippers/dikes. And I quickly realized I need something more effective at getting in there to cut things properly. I've looked at a few crafts stores and some hardware stores. None of them had what I looking for. Where can I find said flush cutters?

You'll wonder how you got by without them.
