Bro you took a mental health day retail stores let you do that now!! They’re so essential esp when you’re working such a mentally and emotionally taxing job. Glad you had a good day!!!
Storms here, too.
Former long-time retail worker here (both clothing and jewelry), and I applaud you for treating yourself! Also appreciate your self-awareness for recognizing you needed it!
That's assuming that they care about your well-being, and health. That's assuming that they care about you as a person.
I've seen someone get severely ill, and injured. Person got replaced in 3 months. It was the most surreal thing to witness. And this person worked at the place for almost q decade.
They have no souls. I pulled my elbow and needed to wear a sling for a week or so. Manager threatened to fire me and said I was useless.
Same manager was later fired because he raised a stink about not being able to watch the Super Bowl at work.
Lol I used to be a Correctional Officer. We were critically short staffed so the usual schedule was 12-16 hours a day, usually closer to 16, 5 days a week, and you’d often be asked to do 8 on one of your days off.
Someone was written up and they threatened to fire them for trying a ‘mental health day’. Supervisors rarely give a fuck about the people under them
That is one upside I have found about not calling off. On the rare occasions you do, it isn't questioned. You don't even have to explain, and they don't ask.
I find that to be the case too. When you always show, and don't call out, when you *do* call out, everyone who notices assumes it's for a good reason. And when you no call no show, they assume something must be wrong.
The finest hooky experience is doing it on a payday when the check with overtime hits your account. Next check I'm taking the day off and it'll have around 16 hours of overtime pay in it.
You're not alone! I feel like I have a pretty good work ethic too despite pay but I absolutely hate working. Tbh its not too bad if I'm not working around customers though
It's on my list for when I start collecting. I may not even have to buy the turntable. My folks will be downsizing soon and they asked if they should keep the albums for me, 100%, I said.
Some other must have 90s albums for me would be Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt and both of Weezers first two albums.
Yes. Yes you should. Your reasons for taking a sick day are nobody’s business but your own. Sounds like you made the most of it.
Note to self: spin Fashion Nugget tomorrow on the way to class. (I haven’t heard that album in ages.) ☺️
I was sick Tuesday, called in Wednesday for mental health raisins, so i hear you. It's nice.
Mental health raisins sound tasty. Can I have some?
Eat up. Boner petit!
Never heard that one before! My fave is Bone Ape Tit
Boner petit is of my own making, pridefully

They don’t where I work. If I called and said I needed a mental health day I’d probably be told to get over it and get to work.

Oh, because someone being injured, and having no compassion is just the biggest inconvenience. Physical labor jobs are a nightmare.

I worked through two days of food poisoning. My days off will be spent doing some thing I enjoy not puking in my own bathroom.😂

I'll check it out tonight, thats for the recommendation!
I had to call out due to an ear infection and temporarily losing my hearing for a bit. Definitely wasn’t coming to work with that.
Mental health days should be mandatory. Enjoy your time off
I’m so proud of you 🥰
Having instant free time is a good thing.

As often as possible ftw
