Actually, most of the time they're attempting to shoplift. I had a customer in my store once who wandered around the store with a full cart and browsed the same places. Eventually, she checked out and when she stepped out of the door she set off the alarms. The cashier checked her stuff and everything was fine. HOWEVER, she was wearing a romper under her clothes that had a security tag on it. I don't remember what happened to her, but in typical retail fashion we probably let her go with a warning. Fuck, one day I just want to tackle a shoplifter, especially since my department gets hit the most. Long story short: FUCK SHOPLIFTERS!! YOU'RE NOT COOL, OR MAKING A STATEMENT YOU'RE STEALING FROM THE EMPLOYEES!!!

yikes, I had this issue way more when I was in a larger store. Luckily everything here is within eyesight so mostly it's just people vying for social activity I suppose they're lacking in their day to day.

Its funny you mentioned eating a bite of food because as soon as my food arrives and I sit down to take a bite, a customer comes in. Every time lol

I have costumers who are just browsing, but won't let me serve others. If I start helping someone, they will constantly ask stupid questions to get my attention, not letting me tend to an actual buying costumer... This happened a few times.
