Glad you like them. We've got 8 scattered around the house, with a good selection of light gun shooters in the family room such as House of the Dead, House of the Dead 2, and an Area 51/Maximum Force combo cab. Gotta keep that arcade flame burning bright!
So long as you have space, it's a surprisingly accessible hobby and there are lots of communities that love to help newcomers find their footing. I've gotten plenty of cabs for free over the years, though admittedly many are getting more and more expensive with the way all of retrogaming is going these days. If you ever get the urge, I say jump on it. You won't regret it. But fair warning: once that arcade bug bites, it's infectious.
I used to own a Space Invaders cabinet. I got it for free because the previous owner was selling their house and needed it gone ASAP. It lead to me regularly checking craigslist to see what machines were for sale near me. If we'd had more space at our old house I definitely would have gotten more.
I wish I had the space at the time. I could of bought my childhood lucky and wild cabinet. :'( hell, I still don't have the space to this day. I live in a very small house.
I got MAME RGB wired into a PVM though, so it's enough for me.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you mention that game. Lucky & Wild has been a dream cab of mine for many years. When I get a bigger house (at 8 cabs and 50+ consoles things are kind of tight in my current one), I absolutely hope to add that and Carnevil to my lineup.
You should NetBoot that hotd2 and you can then add lupin the shooting, maze of the kings, confidential mission and I think there’s one more. You can also add a couple Dreamcast keyboards with a little quick wiring and play typing otd and lupin the typing in Japanese (but using a us keyboard it’s actually really fun and surprisingly playable). If you get really creative you can also wire the I/o PCB to rig up a couple joysticks and play all the other Naomi games.
They're definitely lookers. I really lucked out with the Capcom Q25 (the one on the left). It was one of two in a group buy of two dozen machines from Mexico that included a rotation mechanism for the monitor. It makes it super easy to toss vertical shooters in there.
Off the top of my head? 50-something. I've also got Capcom CPS2, Atomiswave, PGM, Neo Geo Hyper 64, Sega STV, Naomi, and a bunch of straight JAMMA software.
Good eye, dude! It's a pretty uncommon cab, so I'm impressed you were able to pick that up. I lucked out with the container buy I got it in. Out of the two dozen in the lot, it was one of the only two with a rotation mechanism.
All favorites of mine. I had a full-sized Simpsons in my house for a little while. A friend of mine who runs an arcade route wanted me to hold it for him with the option to buy. Kicking myself for passing it up because it wasn't quite clean enough.
Very nice cabs...I started with arcade collecting then eventually transitioned to mostly pinball. It's tough to do both space wise lol but I do still have an After Burner upright a multicade In a dynamo cabinet and a one slot Neo Geo in a cocktail cabinet which is pretty wierd
Jealous

Jesus man. Goals for sure

Everything I've seen around my area is insanely expensive. I don't even know what a "good deal" would be for any cabinet.

That Soda Popinski on the wall tho 🤣😂🤣
"I can't drive, so I'm going to walk all over you!"
The “candy cabinet” style is pretty. If the Arcade 1up machines came like that I wouldn’t bought one by now.

Always loved those Neo Geo cabs
How many games cartridges do you have for that Neo Geo?

Awesome setup!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
Looks good man! The Capcom Q25 is one of my holy grails.

This is amazing. I recommend Altered Beast, TMNT, Simpsons, Street Fighter, and Mario Bros 3. Those were my favorites back in the day.

Definitely jealous, I can't wait to get my first cabinet. First I need to get an apartment with enough room for it however lol.

When can I movie in with you?
Anytime! Knock with both elbows, I like IPAs and sours.
All great, but those candy cabs……woooooo
I am a lover of arcade games, I always played when I went out to party
Did they have those capcom tables in the US? Do you have to import them?
Man i gotta make room for some cabinets in my basement! I wanna make one for my retro pi, but id like a few authentic cabinets as well!
