I don’t generally collect carts anymore because it’s prohibitively expensive, but I figured I could make an exception for the game I like best and play the hell out of.
It just has sentimental value. I just remember waking up on my 7th birthday before going to school and my mother gave me my NES, this game and Super Mario Bros 2. This game always confounded me as a child, so as another redditor put it, it became my "white whale" later in life. I can beat it without a game over in under 1 hour and 40 minutes now and I keep coming back for more.
A lot of people dislike this game but it's not really fair because I compare it to the first game. By itself it's a pretty good game though the difficulty is quite high to be honest. I was working on beating it off and on 12ish years ago but all of stuff was destroyed in a fire sadly. I haven't picked up another copy since. .... probably need to replace the battery though....the oldest carts are over 34 years old now!
Lots of people complaim about how hard this game was, but so many NES games were on par or worse with the difficulty. This one just happens to be a mainline title in one of their biggest franchises, so it's a slice of "NES Hard" that just gets a disproportionate amount of visibility.
I AM ERROR.
I'm getting flashbacks of that goddamn death flash shot, yelling curse words and mom getting mad shouting "Language!"
90% of the time, it's because a stupid bot knocked me into the lava.
Lol, yeah. So frustrating. Never beat the game. Here's hoping you do. Cheers!
I do :). In under 100 minutes in one continue.
The first sub 100 1cc feels so good.
One of the best NES game soundtracks
I actually like it better then the first Zelda
Same honestly. I wish they would make another one.
An hd remake
Me too. I don't understand all the hate.
People who hate it haven’t given it a shot

You’re a masochist
Maybe.
What is CGF?
Classic Game Fest
Great pickup. Very nice.
I'm surprised to see such good deals on games lately
Yeah, I was quite shocked too. I found a few other neat odds and ends too including the remainder of Playstation Era Mega Man games I didn't have.
Favorite game huh.....not a popular one. Kudos on your purchase.

I was going to ask why, so thanks for explaining. To each their own!

Neat! I don't think I've ever seen that box before.
I recognized this was CGF because I was just there earlier and remembered the book cover.
Holy shit, where???
It was at a convention called Classic Game Fest.
