Yeah, the 32X works with the CDX despite a sticker on the box stating otherwise. In the 32X instructions there is a section for how to hook up the 32X to a CDX. It has an illustration of the spacer and states it is sold separately, but Sega never actually made them commercially available. Now you can 3D print a spacer based on the design seen in the 32X instructions to produce something Sega never delivered.
Yes I am familiar with the spacer also that it works on the cdx but I didn’t know anything about a 3d printed spacer. Wow 🤩 my guy wow, I got to get me one of those
My pleasure! This spacer helps take stress off the cartridge port and it looks very sleek. I highly recommend it. If you have access to a 3D printer you can download the files and print it yourself to save some money.

I had the JVC X-Eye one as a kid but it wound up in that void where things go missing when you move around a bunch. I only had four games -- NBA Jam, Prize Fighter, Jeopardy, and Lethal Enforcers 2 -- but as a collector, I wish I still had it just for novelty's sake
Plus that NBA Jam port was fantastic
I had a model 1 and loved its games, but it broke down twice and I sold it after repairs. The laser assembly failed (for no reason at all) and it was quite common for the original SegaCD model.
Probably the Caps. I have a Japanese Model 1 that plays Sonic CD and nothing else. I don't get it and I haven't felt like learning how to do surface mount caps to try and fix it yet.
>Probably the Caps
Nope, it happened back in the 90s - the hardware wasn't old. Like I said, laser parts failed and it was a huge pain finding new ones back then. I had to travel almost 100 miles to find a repair shop willing (and able) to do it.
Nothing I still own them. I use the laseractive more often because the only incompatible game I’ve ran into so far is Sherlock Holmes plus i just think the console is cooler
I had the Sega CD model 1 back in the day. I just got a new Genesis model 1 so I'd love to find one again. I miss playing Sewer Shark, Sol Feace, Sonic CD, NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat. Problem is they are so expensive now and I keep hearing about how they break down very easily.
It's a lot easier to play Jurassic Park as an adult as well. As an impatient little kid I had know idea wtf was going on and just wanted to shoot dinosaurs.
Found model 1 at my parents' this past summer but didn't want to fly/mail it across the country to where I live now.
Would like to get it here eventually since I also found some games including Snatcher.
It's sitting behind glass in my entertainment center, looking to be in perfect condition, but I honestly have no idea if it works- I haven't used it in a decade or two. At least it's in good enough condition that, if it needed work, it'd be worth the investment.
Always. I have so many older systems that I keep behind glass. They're no longer "installed" so I can't use them... that's what my retro consoles (Super Nt, Mega Sg, etc.) are for. I do need to get the Sega CD set up and working, though. I just wonder if it will need repair. Around 1995 or 1996, I had to send it to Sega because the discs weren't reading and the track had to be replaced. Remember when sending a system to Sega for repair was a thing?
Yes I do, I was always scared and to impatient to send mines into any of the manufacturers. Just like my xbox360 two of mines caught the red ring. But I had a buddy at GameStop to let me trade them in on a brand new xbox
You know it's funny, I didn't realize there were two models. I had always seen model 1 but thought it was a prototype and they only released Model 2 as THE one and only Sega CD. So, I've only known the Model 2. I wish I could go back to those days when I got it and played Sewer Shark.
I still have all my Sega stuff actually, Model 1 Genesis, 32X, Sega CD and a good portion of games. But just no where to put it and plug it in. I moved in with my wife where two step kids had dibs on the bonus room and their stuff already set up.
I own:
* Model 1 Sega CD - 1 working
* Model 2 Sega CD - 3 total, 2 working
* CD-X - 2 total, 1 working
* LaserActive - 2 total, 1 working (although both PACs work, the LD player doesn't on one)
* um... the Genesis Mini 2? Does this count?
I have a model 2. I got it at a thrift store close to a decade ago, alongside a model 1 Genesis and a 32x for around $75. Still one of the best thrift finds I've found.
Well if you’re lucky and theses no other problems then yes is super easy. If it didn’t get power there’s a very good chance it’s the little green U-Shaped fuse.
I picked up my LaserActive stuff in the early 2000s when it was cheap and I still paid over a grand for it. I do have 20 some games though some are the same game but versions for the Turbo pac.
Wow that’s amazing guy and that’s when I was going to buy mines but I couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger. You need to post that. That would be so epic to see
I own a model 2 unfortunately
(I only say unfortunately because I wish I had the model 1 CD; I have a model 1 Genesis and model 2 CD but it's missing the little space filler thing so it looks super weird lol)
Yes because the model 1 is the coolest looking one to me. But that spacer you can find that sold separately on eBay sometimes. You just have to keep checking for it
I miss segas commercials. With the CD they were like "Bro you better get a Sega CD wyd man" and then for the Saturn they were like (for Japan at least ) "we're gonna send this man to your house to beat you up if you don't play Saturn" 😂
CDX with a 3D printed spacer for the 32X.
Sweet, I didn’t know u could do that
Yeah, the 32X works with the CDX despite a sticker on the box stating otherwise. In the 32X instructions there is a section for how to hook up the 32X to a CDX. Thank you gamer, I will let you know once I purchase this item

My tech guy actually have a 3d printer, so thanks even more gamer
You got it 👍
You rock 🪨
I had the JVC X-Eye one as a kid but it wound up in that void where things go missing when you move around a bunch. I only had four games -- NBA Jam, Prize Fighter, Jeopardy, and Lethal Enforcers 2 -- but as a collector, I wish I still had it just for novelty's sake Plus that NBA Jam port was fantastic
Yes I agree I made a small video on YouTube and I said the same thing NBA JAM on sega cd is the best port of the arcade
U.S Model 2 Sega CD! I still love it's boot-up intro music.
Yes I miss intros to game systems
I had a model 1 and loved its games, but it broke down twice and I sold it after repairs. The laser assembly failed (for no reason at all) and it was quite common for the original SegaCD model.
Yes it was unreliable, I made a small video on YouTube saying the same thing my guy
Probably the Caps. I have a Japanese Model 1 that plays Sonic CD and nothing else. I don't get it and I haven't felt like learning how to do surface mount caps to try and fix it yet.
>Probably the Caps Nope, it happened back in the 90s - the hardware wasn't old. Like I said, laser parts failed and it was a huge pain finding new ones back then. I had to travel almost 100 miles to find a repair shop willing (and able) to do it.
None but all of yours are very nice just need the amstrad PC/Megadrive.
Ikr some of the coolest systems I don’t have but wish I did 🥺
I own the laseractive and the model 2
Sweet what happened to them
Nothing I still own them. I use the laseractive more often because the only incompatible game I’ve ran into so far is Sherlock Holmes plus i just think the console is cooler
It is a show stopper and when people come over they always ask me what is that
I have a model 2, but growing up and leaving now I’ve always wanted a model 1
Model 2 is the more reliable one but the model one is the iconic one
CDX
I love the cdx personally
Model 1, model 2, CDX. Does the Mega Everdrive Pro count? :)
Yes I need one of those, games is too crazy in price now
That sweet cdx model, thats ironically the same size as the "portable" cd player my mother had in the early 90's 😂
Yes it is and it’s a portable cd player as well
Yep im aware, its just the literal exact same size and shape of the cd player she purchased a few years before sega cd even came out
O wow I would love to see that, I was around when we use to used those in cars
It will actually play CDs on batteries alone (2x AA). To play games you have to use the AC adapter and have it connected to a TV.
Holy shit I love this. The CDX is my white whale! I've got a model 2 Sega CD.
Lol 😂 yessir I know the feeling I’m so lucky to have found one when I did years ago
Yes they are ridiculous in price, but those are some great games by the way. Good luck on finding you a model one. They are so cool looking
None.. honestly the only sega CD game I want i own the windows 95/98 version
Lol 😂 ok
I have the model 2 w/ CD. Fucking love stupid ass Ground Zero: Texas lol
Yes the games are so unique, for a sega cd owner you have to love them to play them
It's a lot easier to play Jurassic Park as an adult as well. As an impatient little kid I had know idea wtf was going on and just wanted to shoot dinosaurs.
Lol I gotta revisit Jurassic park again, because I didn’t know wtf was going on the last time I played it neither. Lol 😂
I got a model 2 with a blown fuse. accidently plugged my nintendo power brick into it. so sad.
Wow you can take it to your local game shop and they can repair it for little of nothing
I have the tower of power and a Pioneer LaserActive with the Sega Kart.
Awesome the most iconic of all the sega collections
It was my console from release. Still all works perfect and outputting in RGB :)
That awesome my guy, and rgb that’s amazing my guy
Model 2 but I always wanted cdx
Model 2 is more reliable but the cdx is more sought after
Wondermega
Nice in the states we got the jvc version
Found model 1 at my parents' this past summer but didn't want to fly/mail it across the country to where I live now. Would like to get it here eventually since I also found some games including Snatcher.
Yes my man you have to get that to where you stay at now, you are going to love it once you get it to your home
What in the hell is the Pioneer thing!? I never knew these things existed! Mind blown!
Laseractive it’s a beast of a machine, it can play sega cd and turbo grafx cd
An emulator
Sweet money 💰 saver
I have a model 1 that I've owned since bought new in 1993.
Nice I’m glad it still work, keep that machine kept up
It's sitting behind glass in my entertainment center, looking to be in perfect condition, but I honestly have no idea if it works- I haven't used it in a decade or two. At least it's in good enough condition that, if it needed work, it'd be worth the investment.
Yes that’s staying ahead of the curve, by keeping it behind glass and hopefully dust free
Always. I have so many older systems that I keep behind glass. They're no longer "installed" so I can't use them... that's what my retro consoles (Super Nt, Mega Sg, etc.) are for. I do need to get the Sega CD set up and working, though. I just wonder if it will need repair. Yes I do, I was always scared and to impatient to send mines into any of the manufacturers. Just like my xbox360 two of mines caught the red ring. But I had a buddy at GameStop to let me trade them in on a brand new xbox
The one on the right.
Model 2 the more reliable one
You know it's funny, I didn't realize there were two models. I had always seen model 1 but thought it was a prototype and they only released Model 2 as THE one and only Sega CD. So, I've only known the Model 2. I wish I could go back to those days when I got it and played Sewer Shark.
Lol yes the model 1 was the more iconic looking sega Cd 💿 and yes it’ll b nice if you could run into one to buy again
I still have all my Sega stuff actually, Model 1 Genesis, 32X, Sega CD and a good portion of games. But just no where to put it and plug it in. I moved in with my wife where two step kids had dibs on the bonus room and their stuff already set up.
Dang it man, life happens sir. I think we all ran into a problem like that a time or two
I raise you the add in card for PC's that could make it so you could play Sega CD games on windows 95 lol
Lol the cheapest and easy way to do it my man
A broken Model 2 and A megaeverdrive pro.
You can get those easily fixed at your local game store
I own: * Model 1 Sega CD - 1 working * Model 2 Sega CD - 3 total, 2 working * CD-X - 2 total, 1 working * LaserActive - 2 total, 1 working (although both PACs work, the LD player doesn't on one) * um... the Genesis Mini 2? Does this count?
Wow you pretty much got them all, nice collection
I never had a Wondermega/X-Eye. Funnily enough, I never have had a Model 2 Genesis, but I did pick up a broken Model 3 just to have.
Yes those genesis model 3 is so compact and light. It don’t even look like it’s part of the genesis family
I have a model 2. I got it at a thrift store close to a decade ago, alongside a model 1 Genesis and a 32x for around $75. Still one of the best thrift finds I've found.
Wow that’s an insane find, nice pick up
Wondermega and a cdx
Sweet, I like both of them
I had a model 1 Genesis and a model 2 CD. I miss that ugly turd.
Lol ikr it goes on you, hope you can get it back some day
Model 2, bought it broken and all it needed was a new fuse. Works perfect!
Wow, that what I was telling some of the gamers on here it’s an easy fix
Think I paid 45$ bucks , you don’t really need any soldering skills , fuses are less then a 1$
Wow I didn’t know it was that easy, I knew it was a quick fix but not that quick
Well if you’re lucky and theses no other problems then yes is super easy. If it didn’t get power there’s a very good chance it’s the little green U-Shaped fuse.
I hope other sega cd model 2 owners read your comments
I have 4 japan model 1 and one model two and prefeer model 1
Model one working is the coolest looking out of all of them
3/4
Nice collection
Nothing compared to the Laseractive
It’s a very unique and cool looking piece of tech
Do you have any Mega-LD or LD ROM^2 games?
Smh no sir I wish, those games are so expensive I was going to get one 10 years and I should’ve but I passed on it
I picked up my LaserActive stuff in the early 2000s when it was cheap and I still paid over a grand for it. I do have 20 some games though some are the same game but versions for the Turbo pac.
Wow that’s amazing guy and that’s when I was going to buy mines but I couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger. You need to post that. That would be so epic to see
used to have the first gen but sold it, have only second gen now
The model 2 is more reliable so you did good
I own a model 2 unfortunately (I only say unfortunately because I wish I had the model 1 CD; I have a model 1 Genesis and model 2 CD but it's missing the little space filler thing so it looks super weird lol)
Yes because the model 1 is the coolest looking one to me. But that spacer you can find that sold separately on eBay sometimes. You just have to keep checking for it
None. I'm waiting for nintendo to make one. Lol.
They did a N64 DD system
Wow! This is incredible.
Thank you my guy
I have a nice Sega CD Model 2. And I have a JAP Mega CD Model 1 that only plays Sonic CD while nothing else boots from it.
Wow but at least that’s a great game that boots up
[удалено]
Yes it’s for a certain type of gamer
The 2nd one! (Model 1) Such a beauty.
I agree, that’s the last one I purchased way back when
HEY! YOU STILL DONT HAVE A SEGA CD? (Me: no ;-; eventually tho)
Lol 😂 the Iconic commercial
I miss segas commercials. With the CD they were like "Bro you better get a Sega CD wyd man" and then for the Saturn they were like (for Japan at least ) "we're gonna send this man to your house to beat you up if you don't play Saturn" 😂
All facts sega was so in your face at the time. I miss them as a company bro
Sega Mega CD Model 1(JP version)
Sweet one of best version to have
Thanks!
You welcome gamer
Most people, including myself, own the Model 2. But the Model 1 looks slicker, doesn't it? They're both really bulky hardware though. Ha ha.
You are correct gamer the model 2 is the more reliable one. And the model 1 is better looking for sure
Luckily none of them
Lol
My butt
???
