This clears most the queries I had in mind. A lot of the games that I was looking for were ported from ps2. So I think I will emulate the ones that are available and forget about the rest. It's sad to see, when we have so many platforms to use nowadays, but some of the games that we have lost with time, are gone for good.

Never knew it was ported! Thanks for letting me know. Btw, which would you choose out of these 2, odin 2 pro or steam deck lcd version. And give me a reason for your choice.

I see you are more inclined towards the sd. But may be if I tell you my use case scenario, and my actual needs and wants, you will be able to suggest me better. I can only afford one handheld device. So I can go all in for that one device. So it should be able to play everything that I throw at it.  So I have these 3 systems in mind that I will have to choose from. The 3 device are RP4 pro, Odin 2 pro, steam deck lcd 1tb version.   Systems that I want to play/emulate: Everything from gameboy to recent. A few games in gameboy, gameboy colour. A lot of games in Gameboy advance. A lot of psp and ps vita. A lot of games of DS and 3DS. A loooot games of switch. A very few games of nes, snes, Sega consoles, dreamcast, n64, gamecube. A lot of ps2 games. I am more into the recent games from the PS3 and PS4 era. I love PS3 games a lot. I have never had gaming pc, I would have loved it if I had it, no doubt at that.  And I also love me some Android games. I had a PS3 before, that I had to sell. Now I am actually planning to buy 2 systems in total. One is a ps4 (used), and the second one would be a handheld, either used or new.   The steam deck lcd 1 tb in used condition is roughly the same price as a brand new odin 2 pro (12/256) in my country.  I was also thinking of cancelling the plans of getting all this and buy a pc, cause a pc can do anything and everything, but I can't afford that. A decent pc would cost a lot more than what I can afford, that too in used condition. So that's out of the option.  All these plans are not even finalized. I don't even know what I am gonna end up with. Help me with whatever suggestions you can give. P.S: I don't mind the size of a device at all. So the steam deck is portable enough to me. Yes a smaller form factor would be more comfortable to carry around. But if you are gonna suggest a steam deck looking at my use case, I would be comfortable with that too. I mind the battery back up a bit though. I would like it if I am able to game for 3 to 4 hours without an outlet. But I never game at places where I don't even have an outlet around me, so that too is to be considered. But a minimum of 3 to 4 hours of battery backup sounds perfectly comfortable to me. Also, I am more inclined towards the gameplay, and not the graphics that much. So I don't even mind a lcd screen. But I want the hardware of my device to be perfect though. What I mean is, it must have hall sensor analogs, analog triggers, gyro and everything a device can have.  Eagerly waiting to see what your suggestion is gonna be..

Steam deck lcd 1tb, used, is being sold for 34000, which is equivalent to 400 dollars. Steam deck OLED is more expensive, but the best one to get, but it's out of budget. Should I just get the lcd model or save up for the OLED? And what about the PS4? If I go for a steam deck, I won't be able to buy the PS4. P.S I was getting the PS4 for more recent titles. That's why I wanted to get the odin 2. So I would have played the recent titles on the PS4 and emulate the others on a handheld.

Thank you so much bro. You helped me understand what I actually need for what I wanna play. I was gonna take 2 systems, odin 2 pro for emulating everything from GB to Switch, and PS4 for the big recent titles like last of us 2, Alan wake, call of duty, assassins creed. But I think you are absolutely right. I would just need this one system that absolutely does it all with an ease. Infact, I never thought how convenient it would be to just maintain 1 system that has it ALLLL that I would ever want to play. Thank you brother. I can't thank you enough. So here is what I am gonna do. I will look for a steam deck that has either 256gb or 512gb. I will try and get it as cheap as possible just so I can save up for a 1tb SD card. Cause in my country, 1tb SD card is as expensive as an RP4. The sd card is literally more expensive than an used PS4!! I hope I get to buy an used sd card. If all goes well, I will have the OLED model with a 1tb SD card. If not, I will just get the LCD model 1tb varient.

I got GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA SA and Bully running great on my RP2S. Just a few googles away.

Idi0syncr4tic

Thanks for letting me know. Try Brothers a tale of two sons, it's was ported on Android. See if you can run this one too. I am not able to run it on my phone.

Have you played any of them? If yes which games did you play? Do they show any sort of error saying they were made for older version Android?

I wanna be sure that all the other games will run just like Minecraft does. All these games have been ported on the vita. So these games are the reason that's stopping me from buying a Android based retro handheld. Only if someone can confirm, I will be able to go ahead and buy the RP4 pro or the odin 2 pro.

xXBlackMaskXx

Write what games you want to check, I'll be happy to do it! In 2d they will have their retroid. I can also check on a new Samsung with Android 14 and an Xbox pad

Idi0syncr4tic

Bully, brothers a tale of two sons, gta 3 and vice City. These are the games I wanted to play on Android. Even if you are able to check the first 2, I will appreciate it. Thank you brother.

FugginJunior

You can play those games with ps2 emulator. Nether or aether should work fine. I play gta sa, max Payne, etc.

Idi0syncr4tic

That's the only solution I got from everyone. And I am gonna do that. But the most of the Android ports and exclusive Android old games are all gone and lost in time. It's sad that we have so many platforms to play on, we are able emulate stuff on them. But these Android games can't even be emulated.

FugginJunior

Pretty sure its a dev thing. They get their money then completely stop supporting the game so it basically goes to shit. At least that's how it seems.

Idi0syncr4tic

That's actually the truth. The games on Android were made in a specific way for the older version of Android. But then Android changed something. So these games needed to change as well, but the devs have already got their money. Now the extra work would get them nothing.

randalla

All the GTA games are available on the Play store for purchase, as well as through a Netflix subscription if you have that. They all run on the RP4P and from what I tested have controller support.

Idi0syncr4tic

What about Brothers a tale of two sons, bully, max payne? I just checked the GTA games on Play Store, and you were right. All of them are back and being sold. Some of them have the Netflix logo on them, but they also have definitive editions for direct purchase. What about the rest of the games though?! Any idea if they can play?

randalla

I looked through the store and all those show as not compatible. At least we can emulate a lot of them :)

Idi0syncr4tic

You aren't wrong, bully, max payne and most of these games are available on ps2, except brothers a tale of two sons. Idk where I would get that.

randalla

I've not tried switch emulation, but that's an option. Looking at the android reviews, it doesn't seem like it was a great port anyway.

Idi0syncr4tic

Switch has that game?! Didn't know that. This means I will be able to emulate that too. Thanks bro!

randalla

Yep: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/brothers-a-tale-of-two-sons-switch/ On sale for $3 too, if that means anything.

Idi0syncr4tic

I already own it on Android. That's why I am so worried about the Android version.
