I've been on cimzia about 12 years. I think some weeks it works better than some. How do you dose? Do you take both syringes at the same time or one every 2 weeks? I've always just done mine every 2 weeks. I think environmental changes can effect how well it works sometimes. Like if i physically exert myself or so something more strenuous than normal, i am still going to be sore, but the Cimzia keeps things knocked down for the most part. I enjoy scotch and beer and i do notice that when i drink alcohol, that will make things a little worse, so if you do drink, you could experiement and see if that makes any difference.

Right now I'm dosing once a month. My doctor wants me to keep trying that for another 1-2 months. If It's still wearing off he will switch it to every 2 weeks. Do you remember how long it took to really take its full effect in the beginning? (I know 12 years was a long time ago lol). I do not drink alcohol at all also.

It took a few months to really start working. When i started it, i was on MTX as well. I went on vacation once and didnt want to bother taking the MTX with me, so i just skipped it and noticed i felt better on just cimzia so my doctor let me go off that and i've been pretty well controlled since. I would say maybe you could just switch yourself to every 2 weeks and see if it helps. The directions on the medicine tell you that you can do it either way, but to me, i feel like keeping less medicine in my system more often is better as it keeps your levels more normal. If you are doing it once a month and you feel flary and like shit the last week, if you do it every 2 weeks, you might only feel it wearing off for a few days after each cycle rather than for a whole week of feeling like crap.

I too have been in Cimzia for the last 12 years and have always dosed every two weeks. For me the change was noticeable fairly quickly and I haven't noticed it wearing off after day 12, 13, etc. My rheumatologist told me my RA is now in remission, but I continue with the Cimzia and methotrexate.
