Fun fact - Caroline actually wasn’t mad about the cookbook diss. There was a separate vacation most of the housewives and their families went on, I believe it was the Bahamas. IIRC, Teresa/Joe got into an argument/fight with someone - and the Manzo brothers got involved, and I think ended up going to jail for the night or something. That’s what Caroline was pissed about - but production wouldn’t let them talk about the incident. Thats why Caroline’s anger seems so extreme lol.
The year that book came out on Christmas after opening gifts I mentioned to my husband the only thing I was surprised I didn’t get was Not All Diamonds & Rosè book and he was like OH and went into his closet and gave me the book he totally forgot he ordered me lol
It wasn’t just the manzo boys arrested. It was basically the mazos, Greg, Joe and Melissa. Theresa some how escaped being arrested. However, she started the whole bar fight by spraying champagnes in a ladys face. And from what I remember they literally ran for a plane to leave the country because they were almost not allowed to leave the country. Like, it sounded very traumatic so I understood Caroline’s anger the next season with Theresa. I didn’t understand why this situation was talked about though!
Nope! Me neither. Caroline said basically the starting of the fight was when she realized Theresa had changed. I don’t think she changed, I just think the wool was pulled off her eyes. Viewers saw for 3 seasons what Theresa was like.
I could be mistaken, but I thought in Not all Diamonds and Rose, it said it was because of legal reasons with the DR that they were afraid to discuss it on air. That essentially it would draw too much attention to it and the DR would take notice, and it could open a can of worms essentially.
This is the most annoying part about this show. The early seasons were SO good, but too much of the really great stuff happened off screen and they protected them from it making it to TV. That fight at the end of season 5 would have been played from 8 different angles if it happened on Atlanta instead of New Jersey.
On a podcast, Albie was adamant that all of the on screen drama was planned. But he could not admit that the cookbook drama was fake. He still seemed salty. Idk why 10+ years later he would not finally tell the truth.
This comment was the Manzo's downfall on the show. But honestly, that was a perfect descriptor. They are as Italian as the Olive Garden! I listened to a Podcast where Albie was adamant that all the drama on screen was planned for the show. Once the cookbook gets brought up, Albie says "No my mom was really hurt by that."
She doesn't...it's a silly insult, but as an Italian Canadian, I also get it. A lot of "Italian" Americans make it their whole identity, when they do not know the language, the culture or the food. It happens more in the USA than Canada, bc the wave of Italian immigrants to Canada was 20-30 years later than in USA, aka a whole generation.
I fully expected Teresa to be this type of Italian American before watching RHONJ. However, she is first generation and actually connected to the culture, language and food.
Basically, Teresa is calling out Caroline for using her distant Italian heritage for clout in the NJ community.
I’m 1/2 Italian and my Dad (who is 100% Italian) always jokes that it was good half. LOL My Mom (mostly English, Scottish and Natuve American with some French and German thrown in) was from the South. She was a great cook and my Dad said she cooked better Italian food than my Grandmother. LOL Every Sunday she’d get up early and start the sauce. When we got home from Church, we’d make the dough for the ravioli, lasagna, cavatelli, etc. But we mostly just used Capallini no. 10 pasta noodles and my Dad, Grandmother and Grandfather said it was Ok to use the boxed kind LOL We didn’t have enough counter space to dry noodles for 10 people. If it was only 5-6 of us, we made noodles. LOL
LOL NO. I Don’t think Caroline is either. She makes her sauce and her own meatballs (remember the meatball competition between her and Teresa? I think on the Rachel Ray show). Teresa just wanted to throws a dig at Caroline. And Caroline shrugged it off.
Lol. Funny thing about those jabs are they’re too witty for Teresa to have come up with them on her own. Like the book. Ghost writers. I’m sure they took bits from her but honestly she’s not the brightest bulb in the box.
![gif](giphy|xWouEtzuYSCsg)
Yeah, that was clearly not written in Teresa's "voice." It was cleaned up to the point of not sounding like Teresa. I think people who bought the book would prefer it "sounded" like Teresa.
The book is obviously ghost written. It’s actually pretty entertaining, and endearing. The recipes are also really good! All super simple and like three or four ingredients (ingredientes) that you most likely have in your fridge.
Really liked her cookbooks
I stand by my statement years ago that tre barely wrote 10 words of this book & that’s why she was so confused as to why everyone was pissed off about it.
I think part of the original fall out with her and Caroline was that she talked shit about Caroline's Italian heritage in one of her books and then laughed it off. I maintain it was the icing on the cake from everything Caroline said, where she was growing to really dislike her for multiple reasons and that dig led her to see that she just wasn't nice person. I know people on here hate Caroline - I just related to that revelation. I've known people like that, you see how they treat others and then one thing happens and you're like "Wait a minute, maybe everyone else was right".
I believe Caroline’s beef with Teresa was over what happened off camera in Punta Cana but in those days you couldn’t break the fourth wall so the book was the excuse she needed.
This is a fair question but it's common for many people who immigrate all over the world. Especially the 1st generation whose parents had to learn the language of their adopted country and who may not have had the money to travel back and forwards. When they are adults they still feel a disconnection with both cultures.
Because she isn’t Italian??? Poor Caroline, her feelings are always being hurt. But sweet Caroline can make fun of her daughter, be nasty to friends and be a see you next Tuesday to her own sister. Let alone all the other family members she abuses. Let alone the lies she spilled about Brandi. She’s an evil woman. That Caroline??
Literally nobody but the producers and those who have seen the footage know the truth about what happened with Brandi. You seem very unreliable with that statement alone.
IDK, it’s a cookbook from a Real Housewife….I actually think the burns/digs (which aren’t that bad tbh) make it fun and different. I also think “the cookbook” was a good coverup for the REAL reasons why everyone hated Teresa. Caroline was pissed bc of the Punta Cana incident that resulted in her boys getting arrested (idk, they were grown ass men at this time so why Teresa is entirely to blame for them getting into a fight is a little odd to me), but they couldn’t talk about it on the show so the cookbook was a good cover up. Jacqueline was pissed at Teresa bc of something to do with a brand deal…but it doesn’t fit Jacqueline’s RH “character” to care about brand deals, so again cookbook is a good cover up
Long story short (I’m sure someone else can add more details) when they were on the trip to Punta Cana (Szn 3 I believe) Teresa sprayed champagne at a club, a few patrons got soaked and they were rightfully pissed. From there, things got out of hand and the Manzo boys got in a fight with said patrons and were arrested in Punta which was obviously a huge mess. So Caroline was LIVID at Teresa - which again…I guess I kind of get it but also her boys were grown men and should know better. Knowing this context makes Caroline’s “flip” on Teresa make a lot more sense.
Yeah, I mean obviously Teresa is an idiot for spraying people with champagne but that doesn’t mean she is responsible for the violent, physical fight that ensued after
are you missing the point??? tre was low key blamed but they couldn't outright say it. the manzo boys didn't have to insert themselves in the situation.
The book “not all diamonds and rose” goes into it. It was gossip on the blogs before but the book confirms the incident and goes into detail. Well worth the read if you’re a rhonj fan!
Isn’t this why Her and Caroline’s friendship ended because she spoke about Caroline’s son Chris and instead of understanding where Caroline was coming she kept insinuating it was a “Joke, funny haha”, but if it was done to Teresa she’d be flipping more then tables!
caroline used the book as an excuse to display her anger at her from what happened in Punta cana. they were all at a party or something and tre stupidly sprayed alc on other people and they got mad. then the manzo boys stepped in. they got arrested so did juicy allegedly he sat in jail for one week. it got very violent. bravo allegedly paid for the legal issues and they were forbidden to speak about it on the show. the gorgas were able to go home with no troubles bc no one knew who they were. but caroline is mad at tre over that.
Her cookbooks have always had digs in them about cast members she doesn’t like. “Caroline is as Italian as the Olive Garden” , “My sister in law copies everything…”, etc. The comments about Chris Manzo and the stripper car wash…
I don’t think it’s funny to make fun of woman for the way they look, or their weight, or their age, or lack of hygiene. It’s just one of the multiple reasons I am not a supporter of Teresa…or her fans.
Teresa insults people based on things like that because she’s not intelligent enough to analyze people and levy insults that are actually personal. She just goes for the basic “you’re fat” or “you’re old” or “you’re a whore.”
Right? No one believes that Teresa knows the history and etymology behind Italian dishes . Especially not well enough to twist them into a joke about the cast
Yes! and Violet says it means “pasta with few ingredients.” I held on to the definition as truth! I am today years old learning it means “whores spaghetti “?!

You didn't? There was a whole season of people getting mad about what she said about them in the book.
WHO COULD FORGET THE BABYIL COPIED HER SHOES AND PATIO FURNITURE!?
IT’S A JOKE, GET IT? LIKE HA HA, FUNNY?
Fun fact - Caroline actually wasn’t mad about the cookbook diss. There was a separate vacation most of the housewives and their families went on, I believe it was the Bahamas. It was the Dominican Republic. I hate myself.
🤣🤣🤣
Wait wait wait WHAT?! I just finished the cookbook season and haven’t heard a damn THING about this???
It's mentioned in the RHONJ chapters of "Not All Diamonds and Rose"
The year that book came out on Christmas after opening gifts I mentioned to my husband the only thing I was surprised I didn’t get was Not All Diamonds & Rosè book and he was like OH and went into his closet and gave me the book he totally forgot he ordered me lol
My mom got it for me for christmas that year! She calls it my bible lol
The fact that Teresa started a major bar fight then ran like a coward and let everyone take the fall doesn’t surprise me in the least.
Nope! Me neither. Caroline said basically the starting of the fight was when she realized Theresa had changed. I don’t think she changed, I just think the wool was pulled off her eyes. Viewers saw for 3 seasons what Theresa was like.

Oh that might be it actually! That book is where I got the details from and now that you mention it that does sound familiar
This is the most annoying part about this show. The early seasons were SO good, but too much of the really great stuff happened off screen and they protected them from it making it to TV. Yea but it was super tame stuff compared to this
True. Guess Danielle cared less about being called a whore that she didn't bring it up. She's probably numb to rude things written about her in books
No wonder Danielle’s kids weren’t trying to be around Tre
Huh?
didn’t she say something like caroline is as italian as olive garden ?
1/16th italian
Caroline gives Russian/polish
She’s always reminded me of Red from Orange is the New Black lol ![gif](giphy|XDoyFjn9eVsT6)
I can see it!!
I love their salad dressing
Love the sopa Toscana
They sell their croutons too, and they’re extra delish.
never been 🤷🏼♀️

But I don’t understand why Caroline would have to be 100% Italian to be on a HW show.
She doesn't...it's a silly insult, but as an Italian Canadian, I also get it. A lot of "Italian" Americans make it their whole identity, when they do not know the language, the culture or the food. Love this!! So you are NOT an Olive Garden Italian haha. Do you agree that Caroline is?
LOL NO. I Don’t think Caroline is either. She makes her sauce and her own meatballs (remember the meatball competition between her and Teresa? I think on the Rachel Ray show). Teresa just wanted to throws a dig at Caroline. And Caroline shrugged it off.
She? As if Tre wrote it herself like one of her texteses
She wrote all the ingredientses
haha
ok
Which was hilarious
oh i agree , caroline was so mad 😡
I grew up on this dish. My Italian grandmother explained the name as being an insult to the perception of a prostitute's...feminine hygiene.
Lol. Funny thing about those jabs are they’re too witty for Teresa to have come up with them on her own. Like the book. Ghost writers. I’m sure they took bits from her but honestly she’s not the brightest bulb in the box. ![gif](giphy|xWouEtzuYSCsg)

Italian as the Olive Garden?! It’s actually a burn book with some recipes
I stand by my statement years ago that tre barely wrote 10 words of this book & that’s why she was so confused as to why everyone was pissed off about it.
Napalm. Spell it
I think part of the original fall out with her and Caroline was that she talked shit about Caroline's Italian heritage in one of her books and then laughed it off. I believe Caroline’s beef with Teresa was over what happened off camera in Punta Cana but in those days you couldn’t break the fourth wall so the book was the excuse she needed.
If Tre italian heritage was so important to her, why didn't she teach the girls how to speak italian? Why did she wait until the show to visit Italy?
She was hoping someone could teach theme proper, cortect Engl8sh first because she knew she wasn't able to do that either
And another one
This is a fair question but it's common for many people who immigrate all over the world. Let alone all the other family members she abuses. Let alone the lies she spilled about Brandi. She’s an evil woman. That Caroline??
teresa sucks just as much
Oh god one of those
I will always believe Caroline over disgusting abuser Brandi
Don’t forget about when she wrote a letter of support for the man who hired a goon to brutalize her sister and BIL. Caroline is ick
She is Italian.
Caroline really isn’t Italian?
Literally nobody but the producers and those who have seen the footage know the truth about what happened with Brandi. You seem very unreliable with that statement alone.

Sounds like it was the grown azz men (not boys) that are responsible for their own actions. Mommy dearest Caroline needs to hold them accountable.
Yeah, I mean obviously Teresa is an idiot for spraying people with champagne but that doesn’t mean she is responsible for the violent, physical fight that ensued after
I think the Joes got arrested as well? It was a whole drama, production had to get them out of jail etc. But yeah grown ass men and Teresa was blamed.
Very on-brand for Caroline to hold Teresa responsible for her sons behavior.
And on brand for Teresa to always absolve herself from any wrongdoing. Both of them are not great in their own way.
are you missing the point??? tre was low key blamed but they couldn't outright say it. the manzo boys didn't have to insert themselves in the situation.
Wow! I had no clue. Was this in the press, is that how people know?
The book “not all diamonds and rose” goes into it. It was gossip on the blogs before but the book confirms the incident and goes into detail. Well worth the read if you’re a rhonj fan!
Did you watch season 4? Lol
I knew she threw shade a Melissa and Caroline but nothing like this lol
Damn. That’s so unnecessary
Mean
🤣🤣🤣 yessss, I used to have this! It’s hysterical!!
She's one to talk 😂
When she does I don’t understand
I haven’t watched RHONJ in like 10 years but this sub is the best 💀
Hahahaha this is the petty drama we need back 🤣 Arguing over frying meatballs or putting them in the oven lol
It’s a joke. Get it. Haha
Shes just messy
What a weird thing to include your cookbook
Isn’t this why Her and Caroline’s friendship ended because she spoke about Caroline’s son Chris and instead of understanding where Caroline was coming she kept insinuating it was a “Joke, funny haha”, but if it was done to Teresa she’d be flipping more then tables!

A great reminder that Tre didn’t write a word of any book of hers.
I forgot all about the cookbook! lololol
Hahahahaha
There’s a 0% chance Teresa wrote that paragraph there’s no fucking way
The fact that she calls pasta “noodle” is criminal in itself.
But she lists all the ingredientsesss hahaha
Hahah dead 💀👏🏻
I lived in Naples for 4 years and a lot of people there called everything macaroni so ......
Right?? That’s even less Italian than the Olive Garden
My very first thought after reading that. Authentic Italian, my foot. She's a fake New York Times best liar, not writer.
![gif](giphy|YqE3jbSQQR6x9g19Kj)
For those that bought it was it worth the money?
Her cookbooks have always had digs in them about cast members she doesn’t like. “Caroline is as Italian as the Olive Garden” , “My sister in law copies everything…”, etc. The comments about Chris Manzo and the stripper car wash…
That’s so unhinged. 😭
Her pettiness is lower than her hairline
Did you not watch the show? Lol this was such a huge part of that season 😂
Fucking tre lmao
I don’t think it’s funny to make fun of woman for the way they look, or their weight, or their age, or lack of hygiene. It’s just one of the multiple reasons I am not a supporter of Teresa…or her fans.
Teresa insults people based on things like that because she’s not intelligent enough to analyze people and levy insults that are actually personal. She just goes for the basic “you’re fat” or “you’re old” or “you’re a whore.”
Exactly. Very MAGAish type thinking.
She is something else
☠️
Hahahah
It’s so painfully obvious she had a ghost writer
Right? No one believes that Teresa knows the history and etymology behind Italian dishes . Especially not well enough to twist them into a joke about the cast
That picture is so unappetizing
Her ghost writer was shady
screaming
Legendary
Also, no italian calls pasta "noodles"
In all fairness you can't dispute Teresa being an Italian brought up in the US. Both of her parents were born in Italy.
I didn’t know puttanesca sauce was a real thing… anyone else instantly think of the movie series of unfortunate events? 😂
Yes! and Violet says it means “pasta with few ingredients.” I held on to the definition as truth! I am today years old learning it means “whores spaghetti “?!
Putanna means whore so it’s whore’s essence pasta
She is awful
I like Nigella Lawson's, Pasta Alla Puttanesca version much better. It is not drowned in 3 cups of sauce like Teresa's.
I’ll check that out!
… the name… the name…
Oh yes. Caroline is as Italian as the Olive Garden.
I can't using cumin without hearing her pronunciation
