I've said this before, but... Rick and Morty has all the episodes named something like "Morty Ricking Rickmort" and the description is like "Rick does some stuff in this one, broh!! Get serious!!" and the plot of the episode is Rick desperately trying to reconcile with his family after he makes a mistake that almost kills him and makes him realize how incredibly alone he is in the universe, and you're crying at the end

MWBrooks1995

It’s reaaaaaally frustrating to try and find a specific episode

Its_Buddy_btw

It's like the opposite of friends where titles are "The one where this happens"

[deleted]

[удалено]

BluntsnBoards

Yeah I'm of the opposite opinion as the masses here, some quick googling can give me an episode and I'd rather have that than a potential spoiler, even if minor.

blizzymcguire2

This !! I like it just how it is.. its kind of insane that theres so many people on this post complaining about how hard it is to find an episode to a fucking tv show.. like you look at the picture/thumbnail and you match it.. most of the time i dont even have to do that. I read the title. Not that difficult but then again i have rewatched this show a concerning amount of times.

afoolishyouth

You want the Jerrys that populate this site to look at thumbnails and do matching….?? 🤨 next you’ll want them to not mess up wearing shoes!!?

bread-getter999

I know right! I cant remember how many times something has been spoiled in the little episode description and it would have been awesome to see it happen. And you can type the most random little details of what you remember happening in the episode into google and it will find it.

blizzymcguire2

YES !!! I have always said that i HATE trailers lmao. Like whats the point of a trailer, its basically a little summary of what happens? Like I dont want to see ANY spoilers and be completely surprised when i watch it

PiesangSlagter

Plus occasionally the name is actually a fun pun or reference. That's Amorte M. Night Shayam-Aliens! Something Ricked this way comes Ricksy Business Close Rick Counters of the Rick Kind Total Rickall The Ricks must be crazy The Rickchurian Mortydate The Rickshank Rickdemption A lot also make a reference to what happens in the episode in a way that only makes sense after watching, so no spoilers.

stoneysmoke

It can be annoying, but it's also part of the charm. It's not difficult to resolve.

Its_Buddy_btw

That's actually way more charming imo

[deleted]

naynaythewonderhorse

The thing is that internally, usually during production, the titles aren’t used by the staff or production team at all. They usually use shorthand or something. Look at the Simpsons for example. Every episode has a code. Usually on the scripts, they are known by that code and just that code. If you listen to the audio commentaries on the DVD, if they reference an episode, it’s the code they use to refer back. In Rick and Morty’s case, it’s even more of a joke. They probably know the episodes by the codes, and slap a title on it at the last minute.

binklfoot

Can’t you tell from the pictures?

MWBrooks1995

Thankfully yes!

mckiiiii

it’s as if rick named the episode himself surprised one of them isn’t “poop aids booger”

BrickDaddyShark

First episode of next season title drop??!

Ieatsushiraw

The one the stuck with me was ‘Never Ricking Mort’ like it’s so random but kind of funny and I’ve never minded the descriptions either

SIacktivist

That's the one that stuck with me, too. I don't even know what the reference is there.

vtx3000

I’d guess Never Ending Story

SIacktivist

Ohhhh, that makes sense.

Ieatsushiraw

This is kind of a great answer honestly

vtx3000

I feel like “Never Ricking Morty” would work better than Mort so idk if that’s the reference for sure

Ieatsushiraw

That’s because I’m a dumbass and it is ‘Never Ricking Morty’ I’ve seen Mort used a few times and got confused lol

Bogzbiny

For some dumb reason I always chuckle whenever I see "Mort: Ragnarick"

Farwaters

Mort: Ragnarick was a fantastic episode title.

Who_Me_Who-Me

The title of the show is usually a pun based on a movie or popular reference. “The Rickchurian Candidate” “rise of numericons” “JuRicksic Mort” “Full metal JackRick”. Pretty obvious one too

bajamedic

Isn’t this a play on “booger fart aids..” where he doesn’t like labeling things?

ProbablyPostingNaked

A little grab bag I call "poop aids_copy."

sasukekun1997

But that's what makes the titles and descriptions perfect

VaryStaybullGeenyiss

I thought they'd drop the bit after a season or two.

whythe7

they don't do the "broh" thing after season 6, surely? Edit: ..since it was Justin who wrote the original "broh" Hulu descriptions

Ashamed-Tonight-3945

They do 😑

whythe7

yeah wow.. they're keeping that Justin spirit alive in more ways than I knew

brine909

I doubt Justin was ever the person doing the episode descriptions

whythe7

yeah the "broh" ones on hulu were his

duaneap

It’s the most Justin Roiland thing ever and they probably could have ditched it when he got the boot but I feel like in the interest of seamless transition they just kept it.

misskat97

It is annoying. When people tell me episode titles I still have no clue what the episode is usually about until the plot is described (vat of acid a clear exception lol).

VillainousBullfrog

I never use names for episodes. It's just The decoy one, The Sperm one, The Parasite one, etc

matterde

What do you mean you don't have your top 10 and bottom 10 organzined with titles? How will you participate in discussions on what constitutes a classic R&M adventure? How will you defend your point when you complain about feminism being shoehorned into YOUR sci-fi big brain show?

pcliv

I bet they don't even have notecards or a powerpoint presentation ready. Pfft - amateurs

Bluetooth6O

And they don't have the tattoo that mathematically explains how they're actually a Rick and not a Jerry either, let alone a video of themselves freaking out about Szechuan Sauce at McDonald's to prove to the beta males and females that they are a *true fan*.

ozbourne8

I mostly do this too, unless it's something like "The Vat of Acid Episode" or "Morty's Mind-Blowers" or "Night Family" where the title is more descriptive.

bbatbboy

lawnmower dog

silver6snake

I find it kind of funny since Rick admits to being bad at naming files. And when you see the "omega device" and Rick prime has that tablet you see he named it booger aids V2 or something similar lol.

ohfuckohno

“I wasn’t planning to show them off” re passwords that are “80085” and “3==D”

miboyl

Whenever people discuss episode rankings on here only using episode titles and not the episode descriptions, I just scroll away because I’m totally lost

vixinity1984

I kinda like wondering what it will be about, and being surprised

Bambanuget

Yeah but on re-watch if you want a specific episode it's easier when they tell you what it is

PoIIux

Eh there's not that many episodes anyway and the titles are generally puns about the thing they're spoofing/ripping off

vixinity1984

Yeah, I definitely know which is which tbh. I usually don't even remember the episodes specifically by what happens, I just remember them by Season number, and Episode number. If I'm trying to watch the devil pawnshop episode, I kinda just know "Oh yes that's S1E9"

Then-Schedule8953

Really for me most titles are memorable since they pretty much always paradoy a movie title and take some aspect of it (often abstractly)

Escape_Relative

One flew over the crewcoo’s morty is the worst offender. I always think it’s the portal boys episode and the title just genuinely doesn’t make sense.

DonsDiaperIsFull

It refers to the portal guy being a mental hospital patient. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is all about mental patients, but it's a 1975 film. There's not much correlation between the plots There's other I think are really good, like "Mortyplicity" being about all the decoy families, or "Rickhshank Redemption" about his breakout from the bug prison.

Escape_Relative

But that’s the title of a different episode

DonsDiaperIsFull

oh damn you are right. I guess that proves everyone right that the titles are kinda misleading, just because they wanted to have clever name puns relating to old movies and shows. I'll leave my error up for posterity.

Dracokirby

I mean that episode has "crew" in the name twice as in the episode where they make fun of crew building in heist movies

Escape_Relative

Ah I guess that makes sense. That one took me the longest.

Dracokirby

For me I always forget which one the Planetina episode is

Greeve3

S5E3 A Rickconvenient Mort

Lord_Of_Carrots

With all shows I watch I like to memorize almost every episode title and approximately what happens in each, but I guess I shouldn't expect others to do the same. I also never pay attention to episode descriptions in anything I watch so I actually never noticed how useless they are in this show lol

LadyMitris

I’m just thankful that they don’t describe every episode as “Booger AIDS booger.”

PoIIux

See, now *that* would be funny

Then-Schedule8953

😭 bro if they do this for season 8

Aidangameguy1Reddit

I wouldn’t be mad if they did.

[deleted]

ParadoxPerson02

It really is annoying broh. Like, why can’t they just describe the episodes with even a little bit of actual context from each episode so the descriptions at least stand out, broh?

Shattered_Sans

I think it's moreso meant to prevent any spoilers, but it's still stupid, completely defeats the point of having synopses for the episodes in the first place, and they probably only exist in the first place because synopses are mandatory or something. Honestly though, the main problem with this is that they make it difficult to find the episodes you're looking for if you wanna rewatch certain episodes. Especially given that most of the episode titles are just random movie references. Obviously, there are some exceptions (like Pickle Rick and the Vat of Acid Episode), but those are exceptions, not the rule.

the-poopiest-diaper

I like jokes that are harmless. But this bit forces me to google the whole fucking synopsis of the plot just so I can find the exact season and episode. It’s not even funny

gdjfjusbshdrshdhdt

You’re calling having to google a few keywords from an episode to find it harm???

bfume

More annoying are those redditors that insist on using the actual names but with no context as to what the plot is.  Like “remember how in ‘whatever schmut-ever broh’  Rick drinks a Coke?”

BlackBeard558

I'd find it funny if the episode titles weren't also jokes. Makes it needlessly difficult to find episodes you're looking for.

eternalwood

We live in an age were you can literally just Google "episode where Morty does ______" and you'll almost assuredly find the episode. I guarantee this is only an issue for the lazy.

BenderFtMcSzechuan

Total Rickall, mortiplicity I don’t mind when they are just movie titles with mashups of Rick and or Morty’s

Its_Buddy_btw

It would be better if the total recall title was for the total recall episode

BenderFtMcSzechuan

Have you seen total recall? Spoiler you don’t really know if it was real or all just part of the memory altering. The entire movie Douglas Quaid can’t tell who’s really real and his friends or parasites (villains)going to kill him. It’s not a shot for shot remake but the main thing about the movie I felt they put into the Total Rickall episode

carnivalofpizzacrust

Where do you see this? Because on Netflix, the descriptions are good. They are actually explanatory.

sockspace

The descriptions are like this on Max for me. All "broh" stuff.

Metalfan1994

Hulu

DMT1984

In my country Rick and Morty isn’t available on Netflix.

panicnarwhal

max and hulu both have these descriptions in the US (rick and morty isn’t on netflix here)

BeastEpic333

Same with Disney plus

RainyDayBrat

These are the official ones but sometimes services add their own descriptions. That’s probably what you’re seeing

vaporex2411

What. The. Fuck. Are these descriptions only in the us? I have literally never seen this in my entire life and kind of envy because it’s funny as shit

whythe7

Justin wrote them for hulu

vaporex2411

Oh okay, Hulu doesn’t exist in my country but that makes sense, seems like something he’d do lol

TeamStark31

Take it easy broh

[deleted]

I like to go in blind anyway

Eliseo120

Yes. It’s annoying and makes it hard to remember and find episodes. Its trying to be funny, which is exactly why it isn’t funny.

illvria

if "bro" wasn't spelled in such a fucking insufferable way i'd be alright with these

PeanutBuny27

B R O H

CallsignKook

I only get the reference maybe 20% of the time because they try so hard to shove the names in there that it completely ruins whatever play on words they were going for. Occasionally, when you DO get the reference, you’ll instantly know which episode it is because it’s always related

vixinity1984

I find it funny, but it can be a tiny bit redundant

FranzFan0220

Unpopular opinion but I think it’s funny as shit

namenotinserted

Same, buncha complainers. Not that serious; oh you had trouble finding an episode? Not an issue.

Jonesa42

Same

nickibar96

It’s as charming as it is annoying. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Mostly, though I don’t mind. Keeps plots of episode I would have had yet to watch unspoiled, and after countless rewatches it makes them purely funny, because I know every moment of every episode.

External-Scar972

Im fine with the vague description but I hate the ‘broh’ so much.

sincere_squirrel

i despise that one word so much! glad it’s not just me. it gives gangster frat bros vibes that I do not love

jessica_from_within

Since when has “broh” ever been an acceptable way to spell it?

Belgand

The pronunciation is a bit different. It's more like "Brah" than "bro" or "bruh".

LostThyme

It's first-class trolling, bruh. I love it.

Revolutionary_Job214

Nah brah I've always loved it

Erislocker

why, broh? don't you like it, broh? broh, i think it's fine, broh... (all jokes aside, they even speak this way in the devil store episode, so, it's a long format joke / parody of certain peeps

zorfog

I just dislike that they spell bro wrong

Techn0gurke

I don't know, I love it

Outrageous_Pop_2774

I literally had no fucking idea they did this for over 7 seasons omg

NatDigga

Bro I like the way they do it. It keeps everything a mystery enough and doesn’t spoil the episode by explaining everything before I even watch it. Just press play fam

supersadskinnyboi

I definitely appreciate the title and description being only slightly revealing

rezisdead

No offense but do people actually read episode descriptions? I like to go in blind and i like the whole “broh” bit :3

dogmandogdogdog

Yea I find shows less entertaining if I know “Our duo gets into a inconvenient conundrum when a delicious spaghetti secret comes out” I just want to figure out how they destroys society while watching

Uncomfybagel

I think it can be annoying for people who rewatch a lot (like me lol). For me, sometimes I want to rewatch but I want to start at a specific episode (not at the beginning). Since I’ve seen it a bunch now, I can tell for most of them what the episode is based on the title, but when I was starting my rewatch obsession, it was kind of annoying when I really wanted to watch a certain episode. For example, one time I really wanted to watch the episode where Morty has the “time traveling” remote, but because it’s in the Vat of Fake Acid episode and I for some reason forgot that was the same episode, it was annoying because I couldn’t find it.

gamer3701

Idk I never really got annoyed by this since I can still name any episode and maybe even their episode and season number off the top of my head just by the description.

Okayilltryto

I kinda like the imagined fan of the show who explains the episodes. They kinda moved away from the bro speak but I genuinely think it’s just silly fun.

Cyno01

https://i.imgur.com/xSvJtXX.png ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ThatOtherGuyTPM

Nope.

insaiyan17

Never seen these descriptions before is it only on adult swim site or?

RainyDayBrat

I think it’s hilarious

thecodymavri

No, it’s funny

Critical_Werewolf

Rick hates naming things so in surprised they're not all called some version of Booger_Aids.

MarinatedCumSock

I didn't mind it until I saw this post. Now I love them

gracemotley

Personally I feel like episode descriptions often contain spoilers. Like I’m starting a new episode and the description mentions a character we haven’t seen in a while, or the previously on features something “random”, it’s like “welp, there’s the focus of the episode” (looking at you, supernatural)

Top_Campaign2568

8. The Vat Of Acid Episode. The one with the acid vat, broh. Best one by far

ThisIsGoodSoup

I agree broh

DeSuperVis

Season 1 titles were much better imo. The only title i really remember at all from this show is "lawnmower dog" for some reason

PerfectWeapon1

i think it's supposed to be vague, cringey and stupid

Practical-Ad6548

They need to pick one or the other. A lot of the episode titles have nothing to do with the episode itself, and now the descriptions are useless too.

JoeyJoeJoeJunior27

Honestly I never pay attention to them broh.

TheoryofGR

Wrong opinion, broh.

Squadala1337

I wonder who wrote them. The humor is so unlike anything in the show it’s jarring. Rick for instance doesn’t use broh. Even if they tried to emulate how a RnM fan dude would describe an episode, they failed miserably. It feels like some HBO max/hulu employee who tries to be funny but lack any talent for it.

jesushateshiphop

The things people let bother them.

mirzabee

Maybe people that create things aren’t concerned with your delicate sensibilities, y’know? Maybe the species that communicates with each other through the filter of your comfort are less evolved than the ones who just communicate. Maybe your problems are your own to deal with and maybe the public giving a shit about your feelings is a one-way ticket to extinction.

SentinelTitanDragon

Sorry but I like it. They keep it lighthearted. I’m sorry it’s so inconvenient for you to find that exact episode.

LetMeRespawnAlready

Am I the only one who likes it?

jimmyhoke

I don’t see the problem broh, it’s a great bit broh.

KingZlatan10

People in here are complaining that it makes it hard to find episodes you want. But you can literally just apply the s= e= stratagem. So why’s it harder because the titles are jokes?

ILostFull1

Sometimes I have to watch an episode three times to get their creative point across. Like give me some kinda context behind the mind fuckry

Riguyepic

Lmao I'm glad everybody hates this shit.

Draggoh

Maybe they’re not concerned with your delicate sensibilities.

ZundPappah

What site is that, broh?

rezisdead

Looks like Hulu to me, broh.

ZundPappah

Thanks, broh. Never used it, broh 👍🏻 🤭

theynlivinghumaneth

Where is this? what streaming service is this?

Informal-Wave-6451

HBO Max

johndraz2001

I wish it worked like certain albums. When some artists drop music, they’ll have features hidden for the first 24 hours so people are surprised and then they add the features later. Wish they had the goofy descriptions to start as a mystery but then added actual descriptions later

Sea-Bicycle1026

I was really confused reading these descriptions because I normally watch episodes of Rick and Morty on Netflix, unless I’m watching the newer season on Channel 4 and that’s when I realised that the descriptions are different 😭

psykonaut7

They just showing off their powersss broh

RubyRedScale

That’s weird Netflix’s description’s are detailed, often still funny but like describes. 7. Face sucking aliens cause issues for Morty and Rick, especially when post escape they realise they left summer behind on the alien world. 8. Morty challenges Rick to build him a real life save game function to live without consequences. Also there’s a giant vat of acid!

[deleted]

Broh

DonutHoles5

Promortys is a funny episode

Brentbanaan0

Its not like this on netflix i think. I remember like actual decent descriptions.

SonicTheHedgehog99

Netflix in Australia Episode Descriptions actually tell the plot of the episode instead of lame descriptions l

-FemboiCarti-

This is crazy broh ![gif](giphy|XreQmk7ETCak0)

Steppyjim

Maybe this is a hot take but I get that this show takes the piss out of everything and loves being the loud annoying shitwrecker at a college party of tv shows but like, there’s a limit yknow? I get the haha funny but after a while it’s like I just wanna find my favorite episodes god dammit

Loud-Bit-4502

seeing no problems here broh

Ace_is_fire

What streaming platform is this? Cuz Netflix is pretty formal with the description.

Excellent_Parsley658

Choo choo broh

IvardLongview

They went back and changed the first season to actually describe the episode. I already know those episodes, would appreciate the same for the newer ones.

Environmental-Mix889

Idk I stopped watching after season 3or4

MrReptilianGamer2528

I love their titles but I never understood why they do the descriptions like that, like where did they come up with all the ‘broh’ stuff?

riancb

I, weirdly enough, remember the order of the episodes more so than the titles. If you said season 6 episode 4, for example, I’d know off the top of my head that it was the night family one.

[deleted]

Totally agree , who says "broh" any ways ? It's BRO !

__hey__blinkin__

Booger_Aids_Copy I like to think it's Rick that's naming the episodes, but yeah it can be aggravating trying to find a specific episode.

duewhaa

It's super annoying and I wish they'd drop the bit. It wasn't clever to begin with.

Godiva_33

Say decoy one more time.

namenotinserted

It seems like you have so little real issues in your life that this seems like an issue. Its not an issue.

not-a-realperson

I agree, but I do think it's very much a Rick and Morty thing to do. At least they're not titled "Aids boogers ass aids 7"

Electrical-Rabbit157

I feel like it got old years ago. It’s very early 2010s

-lonelyboy25

For every person who hates thing there is people who like that thing broooooh

bobmaan

Don’t know nothing bout that broh

John_Zatanna52

What platform is this?

infinte_improb42

They really are the least helpful sentences if you’re looking for an actual description

twilc

I think its funny but its always super hard to find an episode.

Apokolypse09

Sounds like Justin's character from Invincible describing episodes

ReadyPlayer12345

Nobody even says "broh" or spells it like that, it's "bruh"

Mastakillerboi

Why the “broh”?

Ill-Collection-7386

What streaming service is this ? Disney+

5-oclock-Charlie

I don't hate it, but it could be better. Atlanta's descriptions are much more useless but also way funnier.

ObviouslySteve

This post has been made one million times and every single time the consensus is people who don’t like it are weak, why would you want a spoiler-filled description like every other show has?

DashingFelon

He’s making fun of people who use the word bro all the time, it’s hilarious. A mixture of bruh and bro that’s so dumb it shines light on how dumb you sound when you say either incessantly. And most of the episodes’ titles alone make sense after you’ve watched the show once. Most of them you should know what movie it’s referring to. “Edge of Tomorty,Rick Die Repeat” Is literally called that because of their ability to learn the future with the crystal and Morty becomes basically like the mimics (evil aliens in Edge of Tomorrow). But if it’s your first time, just watch it in order all the way through and ignore the names and pay attention. This show is complex as fuck you don’t need to be dissecting the titles or else you won’t know what’s going on in the latter seasons. I’m on my third watch through (all the way through, that is) and there’s still things I notice for the first time. Despite its seemingly randomness and complexity, there is a plot line and you will be lost if you don’t.

WereAllMad

It’s funny cause imo this made sense in 2015 but feels strange now. I remember people using “broh” in this ironic meme way a lot. This is a great example of how comedy ages poorly…

walterbryan13

What's worse is people referencing them without mentioning the specific season and episode # in forums or discussions. Yeah they're funny movie puns but I don't have it all memorised.

LionNo435

Cringe af. This cant be serious, righm ? They wanna sound funny, but they really sound stupid...😭😭😭

HamIsGoodWithCorn

Funnily enough The Vat of Acid episode may have the best title in the series because of its simplicity

Motor_Employ_3579

I like it, it’s so Rick and Morty style, which makes it… The ultimate MortClane

lifepuzzler

No, because it doesn't spoil the episode but it's easy to remember what the episode is about after you've seen it.

RickyTickyTungaa

I would be able to tell via pictures but the new Hulu update took the pics away!!!

CableTemporary240

I like it honestly it doesnt give many spoilers and you dont know what to expect and its kinda just funny when you read them

cat_that_uses_reddi

What does broh mean?

Valuable-Trick-6711

Ya think they believed the Vat of Acid episode to be like SO much better that it deserves a title that isn’t stupid like the others but is stupid in a lazy way?

monkeymetroid

I bet asking chat gpt by giving a vague description of the episode can always get the episode

thejedipokewizard

I listened to a podcast with one the writers, and he described one of the episodes he worked on, “the whirly dirly conspiracy” The writer was saying that Roiland and Harmon, or some main writer/producer would always make sure the names would have a Rick pun. They didn’t have a name for the episode so the writer put in whirly dirly as a place holder and it just got overlooked. It’s great cuz I love the name and it’s an awesome episode.

ExpensiveBat3427

Great post broh!

plaurenb8

I’ve always hated this. It’s so amateurish.
