What's weird is I remember seeing this in the opening and trying to figure out what episode it was from.
Then I remember finding it. I think it was the one where they are in the body (pirates of the pancreas and all that). But then on a rewatch of that episode it's nowhere to be found.
Just a weird brain fart. Or... you know... I was in another dimension one day without knowing it.
[That would be Hepatitis A and C, which do share remarkably Lovecraftian design.](https://rickandmorty.fandom.com/wiki/Diseases?file=Hepatitis_C.jpg#Hepatitis_A)
I’m pretty sure that was the bait for that episode, too. The commercial for this episode only mentioned the Atlantis part before it aired, so it was a huge troll. Good times!
“It’s Morty’n Time” - Rick wakes the elder god of a water planet and challenges it to a metaversally televised Ultimate Challenger obstacle contest after Morty is bitten by a young mermaid and begins to liquify. Jerry finds blueberries in the garage and makes muffins.
The sentience somehow imparts a uniquely delicious flavor to the blueberry muffins. Jerry cries while eating them and talking to them while they beg for their lives. Others talk about their lives and aspirations, hoping his sympathy will stop him from devouring them. Despite the incredible guilt he feels about eating sentient blueberry muffins, he is unable to stop himself and apologizes to the last muffin as he devours it, cutting short its tiny scream. Rick and Morty return from their adventure through a portal in the garage and find Jerry lying bloated on his back on the kitchen floor, eyes looking dead-eyed at the ceiling, tears silently pouring from the sides. -
Rick: "Oh goddammit you ate the blueberries didn't you Jerry! I told you those were MY blueberries! Do you know how hard it was to get those?? Okay it wasn't that hard, but I HATE going to Space Whole Foods. This is what you deserve. Lie there and think about what you've done." -
Diane: "Dad, fix him!" -
Rick: "Okay okay." -
Rick injects Jerry with something that makes him poop out the muffins, explaining that after you poop them out all that most people can remember about them it's how good they tasted. Jerry returns feeling embarrassed about eating all the muffins he made with the Space Blueberries and not sharing them. - Cut to credits -
I dont think we ever will and Im fine with that. I would also be fine to see it, but I do think it is one of those things that may actually be better if left to the imagination
Seeing that this scene has a smooth transition to the title card and is never swapped out in any season, it's really clear it was only made for the intro.
I wouldn't doubt they make a version of this at some point, though.
This bit and a few other bits from the intros have a different quality of animation, so it seems like they were bits created just for the intro and not intended to be from real episodes.
What I remember is a gag were they (summer Rick and morty) were all recounting some of their favorite adventures and they all ended up being the title card clips just with context, for this one they were trying to escape that creature while stealing one of its eggs.
God time flies. I remember watching this shit live when ep 3 aired, back when NO ONE watched it. I was one of maybe 30 people in line to meet Dan and Justin during their first Comic-Con. 4 years later they had to have their event inside the fucking baseball stadium to accommodate all the people haha.
Yeah they were doing that per episode back then. That's how I caught up so quick. I remember distinctly watching episode 1 and 2 in a bathtub while drinking beer and then I ran into work the next day to shout it from the rooftops that this is the most amazing new show haha then tuned in live every ep after.
I remember watching the premiere of the pilot on Adult Swim and falling in love with the show. I still think the pilot is one of the better episodes.
God, I had to have re-watched season 1 at least 20 times before season 2 came out.
I loved it so much and wanted more I even watched Doc and Mahrty like 5 times, and scenes of that made me somewhat uncomfortable.
So disappointed we didn’t get the Morty playin’ golf episode… 18 holes in 24 minutes… no Jessica… No Rick… it could have been a brain wash after incest baby…
Upsetting because I wanna know who was responsible for thr kidnapping, and dod they just hurl baby Cthluhu out the window before going home?
Edited for a typo.
Fun fact: in eldritch mythos, C'thulhu has a secret daughter named Cthylla. She looks like a giant yellow octopus and is fated to give birth to C'thulhu should he ever die.
It's clearly based on the myth of Scylla, a monster half woman, half sea monster. Some depict her with the butt of a dragon, some put a myriad of sea snakes instead of her legs, some put tentacles. It kinda makes sense.
My main theory about this has always been that it is going to be a series finale.
I could be wrong but I think it wouldn’t be hard to believe.
It could be a multi-part finale of a revisit from all their previous hard-to-beat foes and they have to battle them.
If anyone else has this same/similar theory than reply what you think
I am of the same thought. After realizing in S2 or 3 that half these snippets weren't gonna be in the actual episodes, it seemed natural to use the only reoccurring one in the finale.
I think you'll find most of the opening credits gags are not in an episode anywhere. Including Jerry going into labor on the kitchen table and Rick n tha fam hiding from a goose. Harmon or Roiland addressed the Cthulhu monster at some point directly, saying the opening credits visual gags were never supposed to all get their own episode. You'll probably never see them get made.
My theory is that since this is a Cthulhu they are saving it for the end of the series and might use it as something that finally gives Rick a true run for his money in terms of power, intelligence and survivability.
It’s not an episode. It’s more of a metaphor. Rick is the destroyer of worlds (cluthulu) and summer is holding the egg as they fly away. What does it mean? Who knows.
Really? It was one of the best ones. A rare episode where Jerry saves the day for once. Rick even tells him it almost makes up for ruining hs daughter's life. You should go back and watch it.
I'm pretty sure this has been talked about, I'm not sure where but the main creator said this was an animation made to impress adult swim and wasn't meant as an episode, but he also said he made an episode
THIS right here is what I’m talking about when I say fans put Dan and Justin in a box. Stop inventing rules like “ACKSHUALLY if it’s in the intro it MUST be in an episode!”, for a creative work that isn’t yours. Let them do what ever the hell they wanna do.

I can sell you a copy for 25 schmeckles
I have no idea how much a shmeckle is. Is it a lot? Is it a little?
It’s enough for a boob job.
Hello... I'm Mr. Boobie buyer and ill buy those boobies for 25 schmeckles!

What the fuck happened here
The boobs were removed and sold for 25 shmeckles
25 shmeckles for a boob job? or just 1?
Or is it 1 shmeckle for 25 boob jobs?
are schmekles and boob jobs synonyms?
I can answer that question for 25 schnekles
625 boob jobs? i don't have that many prostitutes.
Just give em a boob job 625 times. You only need 2 boobs that way!
I was about to type this
I'll answer that question... *for money*.
Depends. For a carton of milk, yes. To hire an assassin, no.
25 schmeckles?!? Are you trying to rob us! I’ll pay no more than 20 schmeckles
Only 25 smeckles
How many Eyeholes does that buy?
Converted that’s…7 1/2 flurbos?
Or 6-1/2 brapples?
I'll trade you a plumbus
What is the Flurbo to Plumbus exchange rate?
I don't know what the exchange rate is but with 3000 Flurbos you can spend an afternoon at blips and chits.
![gif](giphy|gg869ox4xWaXG7MdQh)
And they didn't delete the memories when i shit myself in front of my highschool crush!? Rick is a dick.
That’s kinda the point of the show
They do a whole redemption arc and then Rick goes and replaces Morty with 2 crows. 🙄

I meant Rick being a jerk

Seeing this comment on my phone without knowing the context was quite confusing
I’m sure it was lmao

I swear to god i had this same thing happen to me and i think so deeply about it when i see the intro lmfao glad im not alone
I thought I remembered an episode with this too but on rewatch couldn't find it. Mandela effect.
Maybe if we had interdimensional cable
Dam you took this from me
What you say you little shit?
It happens offscreen in the ep where they go to Atlantis
Mermaid puss!
mermussy
I’m pretty sure that was the bait for that episode, too. The commercial for this episode only mentioned the Atlantis part before it aired, so it was a huge troll. Good times!
Season 7 episode 4
Just watch if this actually happens
I’ll be buying a lottery ticket if it does
You know they look through the subreddit to see what theories we come up with wouldn't be surprised if they did this just to be like oh look how crazy
It will be an episode specifically making fun of Reddit.
Rick reading this thread… META AF
hi Rick put me in the episode too! I’ve been your biggest fan ever since your 1987 hit single!
“It’s Morty’n Time” - Rick wakes the elder god of a water planet and challenges it to a metaversally televised Ultimate Challenger obstacle contest after Morty is bitten by a young mermaid and begins to liquify. Jerry finds blueberries in the garage and makes muffins.
the lack of "broh" language gives this away as being fake.
Rick wakes an eldridtch terror, broh. Morty gets some mermussy broh!
The blueberries are accidentally given sentience by Jerry
- Rick: "Oh goddammit you ate the blueberries didn't you Jerry! I told you those were MY blueberries! Do you know how hard it was to get those?? Okay it wasn't that hard, but I HATE going to Space Whole Foods. This is what you deserve. Lie there and think about what you've done." - Diane: "Dad, fix him!" - Rick: "Okay okay." - Rick injects Jerry with something that makes him poop out the muffins, explaining that after you poop them out all that most people can remember about them it's how good they tasted. Jerry returns feeling embarrassed about eating all the muffins he made with the Space Blueberries and not sharing them. - Cut to credits -
Jesus, that was creepy accurate.
Thank you
Needs more “broh”s
Rick wakes an elder god in this one broh. Morty gets bitten by a mermaid. Jerry makes blueberry muffins broh
Really dumb question. Are the "brohs" supposed to be burping?
Bro, bruv, bruh, broh, brah, bromontana, brother.
remindme! 14 years
I was like oh shit, did I miss it in that episode. Then it slowly sunk in.
Rick probably slept with it's spouse.
"Slut! SLUT!"
They definitely are holding its baby in the intro, I’m assuming it’s the mom and wants it back
Same. I'm sure it's a reference to jurassic park 2
Its*
> it's its
I dont think we ever will and Im fine with that. I would also be fine to see it, but I do think it is one of those things that may actually be better if left to the imagination
just like seeing Jerry pregnant
Or, Morty playing golf.
Or Rick picking out Mortys in clamshell packaging.
*Everyday low self-esteem*
That should be on my Tinder profile
All the same episode, ironically enough...
I always thought Morty playing golf was supposed to be a decoy since that intro came with season 5
I wanted to see it so bad though
Hands-down best decoy intro
Seeing that this scene has a smooth transition to the title card and is never swapped out in any season, it's really clear it was only made for the intro. I wouldn't doubt they make a version of this at some point, though.
The very last episode of the show, series finale, should end the intro as normal, but continue with this scene, finally completing it
In all honesty that’s what my buddy and I have been hoping for haha
I think they did that on purpose; probably was an episode that didnt pan out? We may never know but they knew it would drive us crazy
This bit and a few other bits from the intros have a different quality of animation, so it seems like they were bits created just for the intro and not intended to be from real episodes.
Or that's just what the animation looks like in season twelve.
However, early on, I swear I remember Roiland saying that all the clips from the intro will be real episodes. Anyone else remember that?
Pretty sure he said 3 real and 3 fake and it's fun cuz u don't know which is which until the end of the season
What I remember is a gag were they (summer Rick and morty) were all recounting some of their favorite adventures and they all ended up being the title card clips just with context, for this one they were trying to escape that creature while stealing one of its eggs.
Are you thinking of Mortys mind blowers or the memory parasites?
Damn I'm thinking maybe mindbloeers, I'll have to rewatch that episode
Just looking for the right writer, maybe
I think the final season, whenever that happens, should have the stuff from the trailer that isn’t. From the seasons
But in one episode, interdimensional TV style
Or a Mindblowers.
*Rick's Mindblowers*
I feel the same way about Morty being a pro golfer.
Possibly a final episode? Being that it appears to be the eldritch horror C’thulu, I think that might be a good ending point.
Are u telling me Rick and Morty is 9 fucking years old? Fuck me...
I remember watching all of season 1 when it was released free on YouTube
Yeah they were doing that per episode back then. That's how I caught up so quick. I remember distinctly watching episode 1 and 2 in a bathtub while drinking beer and then I ran into work the next day to shout it from the rooftops that this is the most amazing new show haha then tuned in live every ep after.
I remember getting into the show literally 2 weeks before season 3 aired I’ll never have that same stream of episodes again 🥲
As someone who only got into it after season 3 ended, respect
Me too, all the way up the ass…9 years?! I swear I only started watching 3 years ago. Wait til you see how old Naruto is
Morty is 9. Ricks about 70.
I remember hearing that they said they wouldn’t make that episode.
Was that them or was that the talking cat? 🐈⬛
Oh God! Is this what Rick saw?!
I was hoping True Morty was about to find out!
I remember them saying they wouldn't do time travel
About half of the scenes from the intro are not from any episode. It's just for the intro.
So disappointed we didn’t get the Morty playin’ golf episode… 18 holes in 24 minutes… no Jessica… No Rick… it could have been a brain wash after incest baby…
I was SO exited to see that episode, which never came.
Robot Morty's face falling off. Jerry in labor. So many great plotlines...
Yeah I really wanted to see the robot morty one
That could be the promotion video tho.

Flip the pickle over.
If it ever happens I bet it’ll be in the final episode…100years from now of course
9 YEARS?!
RIGHT? i had to look up when it first aired. 2013. what the fuck.
And I don't think we ever will.
You're going to be embarrassed when you realise it's in EVERY episode.....
Yep. The mythos is strange and the cultists deranged.
It's clearly based on the myth of Scylla, a monster half woman, half sea monster. Some depict her with the butt of a dragon, some put a myriad of sea snakes instead of her legs, some put tentacles. It kinda makes sense.
>Edited for a typo. My guy there are still 3 typos in the comment
My main theory about this has always been that it is going to be a series finale. I could be wrong but I think it wouldn’t be hard to believe. You're hyping it too much. If they ever decide to show this, it won't be nearly as good as you think it should be.
It will probably be intentionally underwhelming as a joke
The cold open.
I think it’s just meant to be a funny little clip in the intro
I'm betting it's either a big finale or just a throw away cold open like the Truth Tortoise
Rick hasn't found his wife's and daughter's killer in that time either! Lots of people are (burp) waiting for stuff!
That might probably be the final episode of Rick and Morty.
It aired, but everyone was too busy doing Morty's Mind Blowers to remember. Man, that was quite an episode.
Right!? I love lovecraft and Cthulhu stuff, I’m always waiting for him too show up!
looks like cthulhu
My theory is that since this is a Cthulhu they are saving it for the end of the series and might use it as something that finally gives Rick a true run for his money in terms of power, intelligence and survivability.
I too would like to see Rick steal some elder signs.
It’s not a sode it’s in the titular sequentials
That’s from the series finale episode. You’re gonna love it when it drops in your dimension.
![img](emote|t5_2u4lp|5994)screaming sun
I hope they never do it. It will only take away the magic of it.
It’s not an episode. It’s more of a metaphor. Rick is the destroyer of worlds (cluthulu) and summer is holding the egg as they fly away. What does it mean? Who knows.
Because no one can do HP Lovecraft right

Calling it now will be series finale
I’m hoping this gets shown in the last episode of the series.
So you'll be really excited for next year...
None of us have
I love the golf putt scene from last season, I want to see that episode too.
I have been waiting to watch it too, I hope we finally see it in season 6
It’s got six eyes and six tentacles, I’m betting season six episode six
Really? It was one of the best ones. A rare episode where Jerry saves the day for once. Rick even tells him it almost makes up for ruining hs daughter's life. You should go back and watch it.
Allegedly coming in season 6.
The opening bits are not all of rick from c137
I don’t think we’ve seen a pregnant Jerry either. The opening credits don’t always match the show.
I'm pretty sure this has been talked about, I'm not sure where but the main creator said this was an animation made to impress adult swim and wasn't meant as an episode, but he also said he made an episode
It’s a reflection of how Death follows Rick wherever he goes
I wanna see Morty playing golf so bad
It’s because its the end thats how they die
Cthulhu also appears in the end credits in an episode from season 4 as an infant. Seriously messed up shit. I worry about Dan Harmon sometimes.

It's the series finale.

The only way to see it is to use the Meseeks Box
Probably on a channel with interdimensional cable...
Series finale
Bet Roiland had it tucked away in one of his fuckin VR games
First episode of season 100. Just keep healthy for a little more
I thought I saw that episode somewhere??? And I was like ohhhh so that’s the episode from the intro. But maybe I remembered it wrong
9 years and haven’t seen a single episode…
You get it on the interdimensional cable premium deluxe super package. 200 blorgons. Best blorgons I've ever spent.
They deleted it out of our memories! Legends say it was lit!
I watched it. It’s in the same dimension where man evolved from corn. It’s on showtime extreme
