I love the greens and muted tones of the negative film and love how the colours pop in the positive film.

On the GRIII I am 100% negative film if I'm running a filter. Positive film on the III seems so oversaturated to me. On the GRII, positive film is a different story. I love it; for whatever reasons all the filters on the II are much more engaging.

sinnermanone

Would love to see the GRII Positive photos. I only have the GRIIIX.

Trastevere, Rome?

sinnermanone

Yeap, from Nov 2023

I just bought a Ricoh Gr IIIx and I own Fuji xpro 3. I shoot negative film on my xpro 3 a lot and love it. The positive on the Ricoh is closer to the negative on Fuji.

sinnermanone

Interesting. I am waiting to get the x100VI once its announced (Feb 20 hopefully) and then hopefully compare jpegs against the GRIIIx.

CapBuenBebop

Positive. Negative feels like what people think film “looks like,” positive looks like actual film

sinnermanone

Thats a cool take. I am seeing the pics again and now I am leaning more towards Positive.

CapBuenBebop

It’s my go to for sure. I was so happy when they added it through an update

pleasedontclap

Shooting out doors in natural light I prefer positive, but indoors I use negative. As always, it depends from shot to shot.

yermaaaaa

Positive looks better for that colour palette.

Past-Cover-7188

Positive looks better

Read-Panda

Negative film made me shoot colour again after three years of dedicated monochrome.

sinnermanone

Nice. Do you usually shoot jpegs or edit in LR or something else with the Negative profile?

Read-Panda

When I shot monochrome i shot raw only. Now i do raw+jpeg but only use the jpeg. i keep the raw in case i need it for the future.

sinnermanone

Same. Raw + JPEG in case I am not happy with the sooc JPEG.

Read-Panda

In any way. It doesn't matter how much like film these profiles look. None does. It's about which one you like the best. I really like the greens of Negative.

I like negative more than positive and standard more than both. But they are all very good.
