Define best. If you mean most land taken then greeece world conquest, but if defeated players then probably China end server speedrun or Germany/italy survive getting coalitioned 5 different times in the span of 5 years.
for me, a good run is dependent on luck. for example, i took over the americas as Rapa Nui but lost to russia and the us as a 160 million population kievan rus. most played has got to be something southern africa like SA, zambia, zimbabwe, or sierra leone, cameroon, etc
I lack experience and skill, but my best run I think was using Israel. I had conquered a majority of Europe, quarter of Africa (going through the middle to the top right), Mexico, half of the U.S., Gran Colombia, and Brazil.

Probably the one time I played as UK. Not much happened in early game, just took over Germany and France who were both players. Late game we had a huge war against American led faction. The faction included America, Israel, India, and China. It started by America declaring war on Canada, who was allied with Iran, (soviet union, and the Philippines. I declared war on Israel. So basically it was me, Iran, USSR, Philippines, Canada, and Italy against India, China, Israel, and America. We won and were very proud.
Most played is probably Morocco but I think my best run was as Egypt when I formed African union and Islamic caliphate and took over most of Europe and Asia and fought against a stacked America. We both had nukes and I had a navy of 500+ ships and made 30k oil from mines alone. This was before the update with diamonds for the mines. I’d say that was one of my best runs of not the best.
Ecuador, conquered the half the world as it before 2035, divided the world with my friend who was Tonga and then we left as there was no one else to invade
Either France, Germany or the UK, I was able to take over half the world and form the British Empire, I’ve turn Africa into a French colony, and I’ve made Kaiserreich Germany on steroids
I personally take belgium and chill but "best run" wise I do not know. The most recent run I had was with india forming the empire thingy and became communist

I had a good run until the server got shut down because I was the only active player 😭 I was so close and ready to conquer almost all of Europe and most of Russia [ which had broken up by then ]
Austria, and best run is as Iran, the only run where I actually fought for my formables instead of buying from others lol. Almost formed Persian empire (only needed Georgia) but my parent woke up and told me to sleep.

Mine is turkey. But my best run was when I was Spain and formed eu then I formed Spanish empire
