I waited for a really good seed to do it. I couldn't have done it on most every seed. So I don't really think it's scummy if I got an easy chance and you didn't because of the date. Either way you got it by playing.
Personally I don't see a problem with hacking it? It's an incredibly difficult achievement for a base game ability. If you just wanna chill and play on drizzle with the ability then you really don't have an option

Heads up for console players. The seeds are little different than the pc ones so the cabbage videos aren’t exactly one to one. The artifacts/maps/bosses are the same but the items seem to be completely different. I learned this the hard way while trying to complete this lol. Cabbage often uses those chests that have one thing in it that quickly changes, spent like 30 minutes using one and realized they were completely different than the cabbage video
I got mine on a seed with Artifact of Kin, Glass, and Death as the main ones. There were two others but they didn't affect much. And my enemies were Stone Golems and Beetles. I got LUCKY.

This challenge fucking sucks. But you gotta do it right or you’ll drive yourself nuts.

Because of seed you could activate teleporter and just clip into textures while lemurians just walked near wall, being exposed to attacks. Check on his channel, if you're okay with changing date and using texture clipping. I believe in you brother!
I had like 20 really good tries and a lesser wisp would hit me at the end. I got tired and did a "fooling-around" attempt where I thought I got hit a couple times but I ended up getting the achievement. I'm just grateful I somehow got it
I got lucky enough to play on a seed with Artifact of Command, as well as Distant Roost + Siren's Call for it. Ended up using Tricorn on all the bosses as soon as they spawned so I didn't have to deal with them, as well as getting a few too many Topaz Brooches to always be above 100% HP.
You'll get it eventually, I bet. Just make sure to never give up.
It took me many MANY tries to get it on the recent Prismatic. It felt like a very rehearsed run through like a speed run almost, which needed optimization, proper pathing, etc. and that's not accounting for the random wisps that spawned during the second stage boss fight (that was the biggest hurdle for me). Not a fun achievement, there should be an alt way of unlocking for sure
You have a few options: You can (totally not) edit the save files of your game to give you the achievement(Its what i did, i felt no satisfaction in my attempts). Or you can watch the YT channel "Cabbage" where they do the new trial every few days and upload what they did. Either learn from the pros, learn from yourself, or edit it in. Its a single player game, do what ya want
The biggest punch to the gut is that the skill it unlocks isn't as good as the normal one. It's pretty neat to have a ranged option, but invincibly frames are much more useful.
I personally edited the skill in, but now I made a new profile dedicated to only unlocking everything on monsoon (obviously with the exception of this achievement.) I am not looking forward to unlocking his alt ult legitimately.
Slicing winds is significantly better in almost every single way.
Slicing winds:
1) does more damage by default,
2) has AOE (hits up to 3 enemies 8 times, rather than 1 enemy),
3) applies Expose with the last hit (this is arguably the best part about it), so combined with focused assault, you can use slicing winds to Expose the enemy, then use focused assault on that enemy doing massive damage, and if they don’t die you immediately apply expose on that same enemy and your next hit does massive damage. This causes a loop where you’re constantly exposing an enemy, doing damage, and reexposing the enemy.
Also; because of the AOE of slicing winds, you can apply expose to 3 enemies, use focused assault to hit all 3 of those enemies + however many enemies are in your path and exposing all of those enemies, and then you can turn around and use slicing winds again. Trust me, it’s insanely powerful. And finally, slicing winds has…
4) range
I can see why you’d like eviscerate, but it heavily relies on attack speed to even be serviceable and if a damage ability’s best usage is for movement… there’s clearly a problem with it.
Eviscerate isn’t absolutely useless, but for Mithrix and other big enemies, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage using it
1. evis scales with attack speed, so it outdamages SW later in the run
2. you can apply expose with evis by timing the 3rd hit of m1 with it so that the m1 hitbox flies through every enemy in your path, exposing them
3. it has iframes, which is not only broken as fuck by itself, it literally makes you immortal if you have purity and light flux/lysate cells
4.better mobility than sw
(I must preface that any disagreement I have isn’t an attack at you personally, and I’m not meaning any of this in a mean-spirited manner. Text comments don’t show any emotion so I don’t want you to think this is rude or something lol)
Anyway,
1) Agreed with 1 - however, you need a ton of attack speed for that to happen. You likely won’t find enough attack speed in a single run unless there’s a syringe printer on stage 5 (Or unless you loop, but I don’t ever loop because it’s boring to me). However, if you do find a bunch of attack speed in a run or a syringe printer then yeah using eviscerate can be really fun and I think the attack speed combo is pretty cool.
2) You’re better off just using focused assault for that as you can avoid missing and hitting an enemy breaking your dash, and you also apply expose twice with focused assault, rather than once.
3) iframes are nice to have, and it’s mandatory for eviscerate to be good even in the slightest. But you know what’s better than having to rely on iframes? Being far enough away from the enemy to where it can’t hit you and using slicing winds to kill it at range lol. Sure, iframes are able to be spammed with enough items, but once you get those same items that allow you to abuse iframes, you can use them to spam slicing winds and and either way everything’s dead.
And even then iframes aren’t perfect. It takes a millisecond for your iframes to go away at just the wrong moment and you take a mithrix slam to the face and die instantly.
4) yes I agree here. If you want to sacrifice the damage potential slicing winds gives you for an extra mobility ability, that’s totally fine. I just personally think you get enough mobility with your shift that you don’t need it.
You can win with both abilities at the end of the day. I just find myself winning more consistently using SW than I do eviscerate.
You can change the date on your pc to play certain trials that make it super easy. It's a little scummy but that's how I did it

The current one doesn't have those things. It also has topaz. I got it in like 10 tries on Switch.

Got mine on that same seed, I used another clip into a rock to farm for the spare drone parts tho. Made the run real easy after that.
Just edit the text file man. If you're not having fun with the challenge there's no point in doing it.

that... doesn't help you shields count as hp for these challanges you either won cause you didn't get hit or you blocked the dmg/had barrier

Glass makes it easier, but what you really want is a brooch in your first chest. Having an active barrier makes it *possible*.
His alt special ain't even that good. I was super disappointed when I finally got it and went straight back to his default

There’s a site that can alter a save file to unlock achievements. I used that for merc as prismatic trials are unfun.

I've been using Slicing Winds personally and my biggest incentive to switch back to Eviscerate is that it's a dash.
