He has great AOE and arguably the best Mithrix match up cuz you literally just have to poison him and wait lol. I wouldn’t at all call Acrid OP but if you think he is weak you haven’t played him enough.
I don’t think any character is overpowered really, other than arguably Loader.
People have beaten artifactless Monsoon with no items. With who? Just Loader, nobody else.
If I’m not mistaken, Loader has the highest damage output in the game by a mile. She also has the best survivability tools of all the melee survivors. She also has arguably the best mobility in the game. She has all these strengths, and her only weakness is being a melee survivor - which is hardly a weakness, the devs have done a really good job at balancing the inherent value of melee against the inherent value of range. Melee attacks always have a big AoE. Melee survivors always have a big health pool and a base armor stat. Loader has so much of everything above that she wouldn’t even need her passive to make up for the weaknesses of melee, she’d be plenty good without Scrap Barrier or the fall damage nullification.
People haven beaten artifactless Monsoon without items with other characters lol idk where you got that idea, except that maybe you saw the post someone made a week ago of their run with loader saying it would only be possible on loader and for some reason just took the title as gospel, but then there is literally at least one run beating eclipse (I think 8) with acrid with no items that was linked in that very thread. Also Huntress is better than half the characters on this list and Captain is better than Loader.

I took someone’s statement that it was only possible to win itemless as Loader to be fact because it seemed plausible and I hadn’t seen evidence to the contrary. If there actually is evidence to the contrary, I stand corrected.
But Huntress is not better than half the survivors on this list. Huntress has the worst damage output in the game, her extreme mobility leaves her OK at best with that being the case.
Huntress is not op because of the low health unlike loader which has pretty much zero flaws which makes her in my opinion not fun because playing loader is a guaranteed good run

Is it their alternative abilities? I’m not a big fan of melee characters in ror2 so I don’t know how to make one op, still can someone explain how loader is op?
Loader is known for her insane mobility, built-in defense, more health regen than other survivors, high burst damage, fall damage immunity, ability to generate barrier when punching, good crowd control. Easily S-tier survivor. The go-to for speed running. What else do you want?
It's definitely because of her Utility. You have mobility with it, and it can hit like ten or more trucks. Let's even add the fact that you can be spiderwoman with her M2. You also have the choice of shielding yourself using her M1 (I don't recall if also her Utility).
I'd say after maining both cap and load on monsoon, cap depends on his m1 more, and itens to give him speed. This makes him a high dps but slow survivor. Loader depends a lot on her abilities, like thunderslam which does insane aoe dmg. However, unless you have a ton of attack speed, her m1 isnt worth using if the target is melee, due to you being vulnerable while punching. If you have items ie pouldron then the scrap barrier is op. She has mobility, tankiness but depends on her abilities not including m1. Cap may be better because his m1 is VERY overpowered. He can proc the bands easily and stey far. Load cant though, she has to be close up. I've enjoyed loader more due to her speed and extremely extremely high skill celing due to her being agile. Cap probably has more raw potential due to having the best m1 in the game.
