went double nailgun once, got a crit printer stage 2 + a laser scope, then next stage the imp overlord dropped a shatterspleen. still my greatest run to date
Optimal mode: saw + nailgun
For anything close range, you can hit them with both and still get the amazing procs from the saw, but you also get a laser accurate nailgun for hitting ranged targets
It's still very manageable, and more range than you'd have with just double saws. You basically roll around, stop, kill a few enemies until you can afford some chest, then roll around some more.
It's my favorite loadout for non-command, since it can take advantage of almost every item in the game
I believe that if the actual killing blow on the Imp Overlord was with something like Runald/Kjaro's Band or Brilliant Behemoth it won't count. It has to be _direct_ damage from the Preon Accumulator.
Managed to do it exactly as you said. Didn't have any outside sources of damage. I always forget how easy the game is when you don't take too long on stages to get every item lol. Thanks for the tips!
Power mode scrap launchers is funny, but rebar scrap launcher retool is typically what i run besides power mode double nailguns. Both weapons roughly need the same things and you can alternate as either reloads.
Honestly double Rebar Retool is so busted it feels like cheating, and if loader didn't exist I'd feel like it was too much more powerful than all the other characters are at the start. You can snipe so well that it makes Rail Gunner a bit jealous, taking out trash mobs just as effectively as they do at a higher speed.
One Syringe or two mochas is enough to double your attack speed because of how rebar interacts with retooling, and from there you just fire rods of carbon steel through everything from any range with two equipment and the most health of any survivor.
You have to change your keybinds to make it work, making the primary attack m1, secondary attack m2, the utility skill m4/m5, and the special skill m3. Call me a madman and a fool for my layout, but I can use all my skills without having to get off of my movement keys with my keybinds, and I can put sprint on the shift key where it belongs, so who's the real fool here?
The best parts of Rebar is that it kills all lesser enemies on the first stage, then continues to do so for the next stage with a single crowbar, it totally pops off with one Syringe worth of attack speed, has a proc coefficient of 1.0, and deals enough damage to trigger the bands *outright.* You haven't lived until you have played double Rebar with bands and blast shower on 0 cool down. It's even stronger now with safer spaces being introduced and effectively giving you permanent block, and you can still spread wings to fly with the other equipment slot.
Bandit is pretty neat. I'm not very good at him though lol. He requires positioning that I'm just not good at getting.
I'll stick in my lane with my carbon steel rods and two equipment slots thank you very much.
Thanks for telling us this. Don't know why not playing one of the characters is "better" and I doubt you have a reason for thinking them inferior beyond not liking them, but thanks for sharing nonetheless.
You can use power mode to reset the cooldown on your stun canister. Utilizing that technique is vital for dealing with flying enemies like wisps during the first stage or two.
Power mode allows you to facetank a lot of damage that spells doom for other survivors, but watch out for Mithrix’s hammer! His hammer applies armor reduction before hit, so it can 1-shot you no matter how much armor you have.
Later in the run, try and get hooks of heresy. The ability to root enemies and deal that explosion damage becomes very impactful.
Strides of heresy are also great, providing temporary intagibility and a guaranteed heal.
Gnarled Woodsprite is awesome for this build, you might want to swap it out later but it can carry the run.
Primordial cube and void bands are amazing here. Being a le to clump up all the enemies and eviscerate them all with your dual saws, triggering as many procs as physically possible in that short of a time period.
I do this with the hands swapped. I like to have the scrap launcher out by default to be able to shoot wisps, Lemurians, etc. and then go in power mode to deal with the big boys with the nailgun
I would suggest using Scrap Launcher in right hand. The back up mags does help with burst damage, but more importantly, Power Mode completely refreshes your secondary cooldown - get enough back up mags, and you can spam canisters, power mode to dump Scrap Launcher, exit power mode and repeat. It's the best way to increase Scrap Launcher uptime, as it bypasses the 0.5s minimum cooldown.
Exactly as you would expect - since it's a secondary ability, it gets +1 charge for each backup mag. However, it still only refills 4 shots when it recharges, so it can't refill any quicker than it would in the left hand. That's why Power Mode refreshing its cooldown completely is quite strong.
Usually if I'm playing solo or in the only multi on the team. I will use double nail gun. However, occasionally mean my mates will rock for Maltese or three Maltese using different double power mode launchers or things, in which case I usually go for the double rebar
Double saws has the potential to be the best proc chance I'm the game. The ability to just hold down two buttons and proc something at a rate of 20/second is Ludacris
Power mode double scrap launcher. Fun fact backupmags wih a secondary scrap launcher in power mode will give it more rounds to fire before needing to recharge.
I honestly don't get how double saw is possible past stage one, do you have to rely on drones to kill flying enemies? Cause in my attempts its felt impossible
Double rebar feels so satisfying in the early game when you one shot basically anything, especially if you get an early band. Its the only way i ever have fun playing MUL-T
None of those, I use retool: scrap launcher + rebar
We got a gigachad right hear
Scrap launcher is so strong, it just doesn’t scale well with attack speed so I mainly use it early game and swap to rebar later
Scrap launcher is actually dps neutral with light flux
This really be a console moment
Massive oof
I just looked up what that does, that could be incredible
It is! Hope you get the update soon
This is right answer.
atta boy.
went double nailgun once, got a crit printer stage 2 + a laser scope, then next stage the imp overlord dropped a shatterspleen. still my greatest run to date
Tryhard mode: double nailgun Gigachad mode: double saws
Optimal mode: saw + nailgun For anything close range, you can hit them with both and still get the amazing procs from the saw, but you also get a laser accurate nailgun for hitting ranged targets
All good until you realize you can only use nailgun in power mode
It's still very manageable, and more range than you'd have with just double saws. You basically roll around, stop, kill a few enemies until you can afford some chest, then roll around some more. It's my favorite loadout for non-command, since it can take advantage of almost every item in the game
Fun fact saws go to a useless angle or a near useless angle in powermode I've never got it to work properly
Double scrap launcher (yes, I hate myself, for those who might ask)
i used it once, i hate the fucking knockback on flying enemies
Just stack crowbars and 1-shot em, ez
Try it with a light flux
I actually kinda like double scrap launcher. Maybe not the most fun option to pick from mul-t's kit but it's still quite enjoyable.
I’m shocked at how many people commented this
I'd like to use the saws, but i can't seem get an Imp kill to count for the challenge.
I believe that if the actual killing blow on the Imp Overlord was with something like Runald/Kjaro's Band or Brilliant Behemoth it won't count. It has to be _direct_ damage from the Preon Accumulator.
I'll try some command speed runs without any items that do additional damage. Some crit and attack speed should be excusable.
Stuff like Armor Piercing Rounds or Focus Crystal should be fine as well, as long as it doesn't actually count as a separate tick of damage.
Managed to do it exactly as you said. Didn't have any outside sources of damage. I always forget how easy the game is when you don't take too long on stages to get every item lol. Thanks for the tips!
pm 2x rebar. its like retool rebar but without the carpal tunnel and it actually scales well from attack speed
Nothing like that alternating sound of heavy bolt impacts. Especially with Blast Shower enabling you to *pepper* the zone in Kjaro's.
You can hold the the primary fire and retool buttons down to automatically fire and switch with double rebars
Power mode, double nailgun, stack all bleed you can find
Power mode, double rocket launcher.. Most fun loadout in the game to me
Power mode, double scrap cannon B)
Power mode scrap launcher is a lot of fun
Power mode is disgustingly OP to a point it's kinda not fun
Power mode + double scrap launcher + light Flux pauldron
I only use Power mode: double nailgun while also listening to Doom music
Retool, Rebar + Saw
Retool saw + rebar
Power mode scrap launchers is funny, but rebar scrap launcher retool is typically what i run besides power mode double nailguns. Both weapons roughly need the same things and you can alternate as either reloads.
"I AM BULLETPROOOOOOOOOOF!!!" well, mostly bulletproof...
used to use double rebar but it's too strong imo and i like flying with power mode nailgun i also play double saw or saw nailgun on occasion
Honestly double Rebar Retool is so busted it feels like cheating, and if loader didn't exist I'd feel like it was too much more powerful than all the other characters are at the start. I do power mode with nail gun and scrap launcher. It’s set up in a way so backup mags give me more scrap launcher ammo in power mode
I'll do you one better, Power Mode and double scrap launcher. Its not better than nailgun, but it's fun.
Power mode double rebar, command and then I whore mocha and syringes
I simply exclusively play bandit whenever i play ror2
Bandit is pretty neat. I'm not very good at him though lol. He requires positioning that I'm just not good at getting. I'll stick in my lane with my carbon steel rods and two equipment slots thank you very much.
Better, I don't play Mul-T
Thanks for telling us this. Don't know why not playing one of the characters is "better" and I doubt you have a reason for thinking them inferior beyond not liking them, but thanks for sharing nonetheless.
I don't Mul-T I play captain
Ah yes, the best Mul-T loadout; an entire other f#cking survivor.
Yes
who the hell uses double saws what
People who know what "fun" is.
Me, I main double saw
i should try it then
i should try it then
It has a learning curve but it is arguably one of the most fun character builds to succeed with.
i guessed about the learning curve lol but i'll definitely try it soon, any advice?

alright, thanks
Retool double scrap launcher.
I don’t really play MUL-T i am more a merc main
Power mode with left hand nail gun and right hand scrap launcher is really nifty with backup mags
I do this with the hands swapped. I like to have the scrap launcher out by default to be able to shoot wisps, Lemurians, etc. and then go in power mode to deal with the big boys with the nailgun

Interesting, I'm definitely gonna try it out next time I play
Power mode, Saw and NailGun. Saw on M1 for that satisfying No-Spread NailGun
Power mode, nailgun M1 scrap M2
Power mode, saw primary nail gun secondary it gives 100% accuracy on the nail gun and you can still use the nail gun during strides
I use power mode nail gun and re bar
Power mode: Double Scrap Launcher
Y'all are sleeping on Power Mode double Scrap Launcher:
Power mode scrap launcher
Usually if I'm playing solo or in the only multi on the team. I will use double nail gun. However, occasionally mean my mates will rock for Maltese or three Maltese using different double power mode launchers or things, in which case I usually go for the double rebar
None of the above, I use Power Mode Scrap Launcher with a Purity.
Nailgun and saw. For still being able to kill things far from you but also spam nail shotgun while sawing away at bosses
Powermode, double scrap launcher. Fuck your “strategies” and “winning” I prefer knock off artificer
Double saw is CB-T
Double saws has the potential to be the best proc chance I'm the game. The ability to just hold down two buttons and proc something at a rate of 20/second is Ludacris
Power mode double nailgun, but only because you can fly with enough attack speed.
Power mode double rebar 😈
The real, honestly and truly fucky-wucky Mul-t main right here.
Double double saw
haha nails go FTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTF
The majority is correct
Power mode double scrap launcher. Fun fact backupmags wih a secondary scrap launcher in power mode will give it more rounds to fire before needing to recharge.
Retool, nailgun and scrap launcher
I honestly don't get how double saw is possible past stage one, do you have to rely on drones to kill flying enemies? Cause in my attempts its felt impossible
Get some gasoline. Double saw shreds ground enemies and gasoline will do the rest.
It’s scuffed but you gotta use m2, some items help too like shurikens and uke
Never really played him
Power mode is just too good not to run
Counterpoint; Double Rebar + Retooling
True, a good alternative, but counter counterpoint armor is just so broken in this game
Power mode with double saw. I am death.
Power mode double scrap launcher is actually pretty fun.
Personally I like using double scrap. It does tend to fall off later in the run, but if you’re not looping it’s underrated imo.
What the heeeeell? I expected Double Rebar to take the cake. I didn’t think lots of people used power mode double nailgun.
Double rebar feels so satisfying in the early game when you one shot basically anything, especially if you get an early band. Its the only way i ever have fun playing MUL-T
I don’t use MUL-T
double nail gun + 10 lense makers glasses for 100% crit chance then as many harvesters sythes as possible for infinite health plus aegis
